Bed of Destruction

Karan lifted all Eliza's belongings and put them in the boot of his car. There was no more tolerance for Eliza, this marriage had to be completely destroyed.

Although it was hard for her to leave her husband's house, especially leaving the memories with him. However, Eliza also did not want to force Karan to keep her in the house. It was clear that Karan no longer wanted her.

"Must this be the way our marriage breaks down, Karan? Can't we work it out, Karan?"

"I told you from the beginning that I married you only to fulfil my promise to you. If you can't put up with my behaviour now, it's better for you to leave. It's better than me having to listen to your demands."

"Have I never taken care of you or not fulfilled your needs, Karan? I did everything despite my own reluctance to do so."

"But you're more busy with your world and you'd rather be out with your friends than with me, Eliza. One more thing, Eliza. I can't stay with a woman who is clearly no longer willing to be faithful to me."

Karan still misunderstood her closeness with Doctor Sean. However, after a situation like this. There was nothing wrong with Doctor Sean taking Karan's place in her life.

Eliza is still trying to prevent Karan, she wants to maintain her marriage even though it is on the brink. However, all the things Eliza did are of no use now.

Now, there is only regret in her heart. It was too late for Eliza to tell Karan the solution. All the luggage had been transported and Karan was just a few steps away from getting into the car.

"Is this where you've come in your fight to keep our marriage, Karan? Why is there no other way than this separation, Karan?"

Eliza asked herself as she looked around her room and house. The cupboards and the clothes in them she had touched and washed. Eliza touched one of Karan's shirts, the one Karan had first worn in his house after the wedding.

Eliza felt not just tightness, but deep pain. She cried as she hugged the shirt, hoping that there would be a miracle from God for her marriage.

"After this, I don't know what I will do. Maybe my life will be without Karan."

Tuti, her maid surprised Eliza by touching her shoulder.

"Madam, let's go! Master is waiting outside."

Eliza wiped her tears, "Yes, ma'am. Let's go!" Eliza said as she put away Karan's clothes.

Everything was ready, all Eliza's belongings were already in the car. There was nothing left. Karan was really going to drop Eliza off and decided to part from her. 

"Karan," Eliza called before getting into the car, touching her husband's fingertips.

"Are you ready? Let's go!" said Karan.

However, Karan's steps were halted when Eliza managed to pull Karan's arm to prevent him from getting into the car. Eliza was still hoping that Karan would give up on the idea of parting ways.

"What else are we going to talk about, El? It's obvious, isn't it? You asked to go home? I'll take you home as you requested."

"After this, I don't know what life will be like. Because, I don't know if I'll get a better replacement than you or not. But clearly, I have absolutely no intention of marrying another man again."

"Don't talk like that, you have to move on. Make this marriage as your lesson, don't make the same mistake when you have a husband again."

"No, I don't want to find another one. However, if you feel that I don't deserve to be your wife, please find someone better than me."

"No, right now I'm only thinking about my company that's about to go bankrupt. That's more important than looking for a woman. Never mind, let's go!"

The pair of eyes no longer looked at each other, Karan tried to look away from Eliza. Eliza, too, could not bear to look at her husband's face. The man who had made a promise to her parents at this time.

She couldn't believe that the marriage Eliza had dreamed of would be this short-lived. Eliza did not expect that her dream of getting married once in her lifetime would not be granted by God.

Moreover, Eliza hoped that she would not experience the destruction of marriage like her parents. However, God's destiny gave her another twist. Eliza had to experience the separation of her parents.

"God, please save this marriage. I beg you, don't let our bed completely break down just like that, please restore my husband's heart and restore his love for me."

Eliza prayed in her heart all the way, she just hoped that there was a miracle of God as well as another surprise for the integrity of her marriage. Her heart was broken, but no more broken than Karan was feeling right now.

Karan's heart is so disappointed that he does not want to look back at the woman he once fought for. It may sound simple, but no one can understand feelings other than oneself.

The arrival of Karan's car surprised Henny; it had been a long time since her adopted son had come home after his marriage. This time, she came with her husband. Karan immediately parked his car in the courtyard, then came out to greet Henny briefly.

Karan took out all Eliza's belongings from the boot of his car. Henny was shocked, but couldn't ask any questions until they explained everything themselves.

"Mum, Karan didn't come here for long. He just wanted to take Eliza home the way she wanted. Besides, Karan also wanted to return Eliza. We chose to part ways," Karan said after being invited to sit by his in-laws.

"Son, what happened? Why didn't you guys talk things out first? Why did you make this decision right away?"

"We have nothing more to talk about, Mum. Indeed our paths have diverged, everything that happens in marriage let it be our problem and only we know it. Now, I just want to pronounce divorce to Eliza and you are the witness."

Henny was shocked to hear Karan's explanation, while Eliza did not respond to anything else. She remained silent, trying to remain strong in the face of the destruction of her marriage.

As a mother, Henny could not force her daughter to stay. However, Henny hoped that both of them would turn things around and make things right.

"Son, whatever the problem is. I don't expect you to separate this soon, your journey is too short. If it can still be fixed, why don't you try to fix it."

"No, Mum. This is the final decision and Eliza asked for it. So, I have no reason to keep her anymore. I will excuse myself."

Not waiting any longer, Karan finally excused himself. He didn't care that his in-laws continued to question him about what had happened to them.

"Karan, why does it have to be like this? Why don't we try to fix it? We should just end this marriage," Eliza mused.
