Jolie sat crossed-legged with a look of worry on her face. She gently pulled down Qie Xieling's chin exposing his tongue that had healed drastically after pouring in some healing elixir. Her face couldn't help but grimace thinking about how much pain Qie Xieling must have been in.
She took out a handkerchief and soaked it in water before wiping the corner of his lips that were blood-stained.
"Your dad would be in pain watching you like this," she said only for the tent flap to be opened. Standing at the entrance was King Luo in his human form adorned in resplendent robes woven with threads of gold, shimmering with intricate patterns. His stature was imposing, standing tall and commanding attention without uttering a single word but Jolie wasn't afraid of him at all.
She somewhat blamed him for what happened to Qie Xieling though in truth it had nothing to do with him.
