Father And Son

Ginny stopped Yren on the way out and came over to see him. Yren was a little nervous after Rephilia's reaction.

"My mother did try to seduce you, did she? Ginny asked but got embarrassed, making Yren relax.

"No, but she said she would stop by with the stuff I asked for. Now I must go have a son-to-father chat with my dear old pops!" Yren said, keeping his composure.

He couldn't afford to lose control around Ginny, her mother was bad enough, and she didn't need Yren to be another monster in her life.

"Just make sure to take some deep breaths, and I will see you later when we come by!" Ginny called as Yren ran off home.

The trip was short, and Yren headed straight for the front door, opening it wide. Tybrus was sitting in his chair, drinking from his normal mug in front of the fire.

"Come and sit down," Tybrus called to his son, and Yren did as asked, holding in his seething rage in check.

"So, how was the visit with mom?" Yren asked, but before his father could answer, Yren threw the coin pouch directly at his father's face.

Tybrus grinned, catching the coins in the air, but that was only a distraction. Yren launched at his father but was on the ground behind his father's chair before he knew what had happened.

Yren could do nothing but lay there shocked. His father had moved faster than sight, and now his body felt like he had just been hit all over.

"I get it, and I am sorry, but this was a decision among your mother and me to keep the funds secret. Think about what would have happened, but I am sure that I could have told you before this. I am sorry for that, but a little bird told me that you need to have a serious talk with me," Tybrus said without moving from his chair.

Yren groaned, picking himself off the ground, and limped over to his chair. He never imagined that Tybrus was that frighteningly strong, but his father was right.

"Well, Kimora got caught up in a local gang trying to attack me, and she passed out from shock. After that, I took her to the Mayor's house and had a very interesting talk with him. Did you know he was a Demon?" Yren asked, and his father nodded.

"Yes, and you are still alive. However I am not really sure whether or not either of us is still alive at this point. Bzathmjor could have just looked at you and killed you, so I want to know what his deal is, ya know," Tybrus explained.

"Well, as we thought, a half-demon isn't common, and it had made him very unpopular with the others of his kind. The reason for Kimora is to create a bridge with me, for the Gods and Demons, according to him," Yren explained, and Tybrus nodded but then paused.

"Well, there is no reason to lie here, we are worthless to him in any other light, and killing us is the best course of action," Tybrus declared, making a cutting motion with his hand.

"What?! Don't assume the worst for us! There is more, but you have to promise to keep your cool! I know how you can get!!" Yren growled at his father.

"Oh? Why am I getting goosebumps? What could you possibly be hiding from me?! I thought I was the keeper and disher of secrets?!" Tybrus roared.

"See? This is what I am talking about! I am going to tell you, and you are going to turn into a big dangerous child!" Yren complained, but his father was already on his knees with hands clasped, eyes sparking.

Yren put a boot on his old man's shoulder and pushed him over while rolling his eyes. When Yren was a kid, he loved his father's overreactions, but this was getting old to him.

"What if I told you we could get mom and everyone else out of the dungeon? Return the dungeons to normal?" Yren said with a blank look on his face.

Tybrus sat up and looked at his son with the same blank look, but then his eyebrows tried to bury into his hairline.

"What did you just say?" Tybrus asked his son.

"Mom can come home if we work with Clyde. If I can complete our dungeon with both girls with me, he will unlock it. Now shut up before you start blubbering, and listen! Once this happens, Bzathmjor and Kimora become enemy number one for all Demons. Then there is the problem of getting the other Imprisoned gods and humans to forgive them," Yren explained.

"True, those are both glaring problems, but there is finally a way!" Tybrus said as he burst into tears.

"Hey, Hey, Hey! Old man! Pull yourself together! I am going to do it, and you're going to start helping me," Yren said with a grin, glaring at his father.

"Me?" Tybrus asked, pointing at himself.

"Yes! Not in the dungeon, but at the forge!" Yren declared, stabbing a finger at his father who reeled back like it was the sharpest blade.

"No! I said I would never do-" Tybrus started to say.

"Stupid! You will be making weapons for me and my party only! Don't give me any excuses!" Yren said with a deadly grin, and then said, "If you want to see mom, my party needs to be well fitted!"

"Gah! Mira! What kind of a monster have we created?!" Tybrus cried out.

"Idiot! You had this coming for hiding all the money! Stupid old man making me like in this breezy house! You even cheaped out on a Heater Jewel in winter! Idiot!" Yren yelled as he kicked his father.

The bonding time was interrupted by a knock at the door, and Yren stopped stepping on his father.

"Come in!" Yren called, and five people walked in, closing the door behind themselves.

"Quite the quaint little dwelling!" Bzathmjor, better known as Clyde, said with a smile.
