50 The Second Kiss of a Painful Past

The small Vietnamese pub smelled of fried oriental food. Adam did not usually go to such places, but he had to admit that for the purposes of their conversation it was perfect - most of the guests were Asians whose knowledge of Polish did not give rise to any suspicion of being overheard. The occasional white also looked like a random gathering of students and positively twisted followers of the Orient.

“Sorry about the place” Niedzic spoke up. “I haven't had breakfast.”

“The place is good. Safe for conversations.”

The policeman nodded.

“You said Kwiecień had an accomplice. Is this information sure?”

Lechoń nodded.

"Damn! So there really were two of them."

“Unfortunately yes,” confirmed Adam feeling an unpleasant lump in his throat. “Kwiecień wanted me to represent him. He promised to confess everything. What he told me fits the facts really well. It clarifies places that were unclear.”

“Did he give his details?”

“No, not completely.”
