"Me? I went after these two idiots…" I said with a shrug, and I could see Professor Snape's lips curve out of the corner of my eye as I called Weasley and Potter idiots.

"Hey! We are not idiots!" Weasley exclaimed indignantly, and the only thing he got was a blank look from me, from Professor Snape, and surprisingly from Professor McGonagall.

"Yes..." I said slowly, deciding to ignore the weasel beside me, "As I was saying before being rudely interrupted... I followed these two idiots..." I said emphasizing the 'idiot', " Because I already expected that they would do something stupid, but before I could call them they had already left the group, so I didn't have time to call a prefect and I had already walked away from the group, so I decided to follow them "

"And how come no one noticed the absence of the four of you?" Professor McGonagall asked, more to herself and her fellow professors than to us.

"Probably in the same way that no one realized that sending all students to their common rooms, where two of those common rooms were near the dungeons, which happened to be where said troll should be, was a poorly thought out plan," I replied with a shrug, and Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick both looked at that fact in surprise, before ducking their heads in embarrassment.

Professor Snape only snorted in disdain, but he couldn't hide the worry he felt for his snakes from my empathy, and meanwhile the Headmaster looked at me calmly, which basically confirmed my theory that he knew where the troll was.

"Hmm, so after you left the group, you ended up in the girls bathroom on the second floor trying to warn Miss Granger, right?" Professor Flitwick asked, and I nodded, "So how does a dead troll get into this story?"

"Well... Looks like we weren't the only ones looking for Miss Granger," I said with a wry smile, "By the time we got there, the troll was already breaking into the bathroom. So these two here decided it would be a good idea to go into the bathroom without a plan and face the troll head on," I continued.

"You what?!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed shocked, looking at the two Gryffindors who flinched at the glare of her gaze.

"Have you...decided to face a troll...known for its magical and physical endurance... And for its strength...head on?" Professor Snape asked slowly, looking at them like he was seeing the stupidest beings in the world, "Looks like fame has really gone to your head, right Potter?" he scoffed.

"Hey! That's not what happened!" Potter exclaimed.

"Yeah! We just wanted to distract him so we could escape with Hermione. He's the one who attacked the troll head on!" Weasley complained, pointing a finger at me, almost poking my face.

"Keep pointing that finger at me, and you won't know how it got in your—"

"Eth—Mr. Night! Language" Professor McGonagall scolded me, almost calling me by my name as well.

"Sorry" I said, but the effect of my sentence was enough, because Weasley quickly hid his hand as he walked away from me.

"You were the one who killed the troll?" Headmaster Dumbledore who had been quiet all this time asked me.

"Yes" I shrugged my shoulders, "I blinded the troll with the {Lumos Duo} spell to make him drop Potter and the club he was holding…" I started to say before I was interrupted.

"Drop Potter?" Professor Snape asked.

"Yes" I replied, "Looks like part of your strategy was to fall down and let yourself get caught by the troll" I said, and the teachers took a deep breath at that.

"But I—" Potter tried to defend himself, but I cut him off.

"Shhh"

"But—"

"Shhh"

"Bu—"

"{Silencio}" I silenced him, putting my wand back in its holster.

"Continuing..." I said, ignoring the stunned look of the teachers, and the Potter boy trying to look at his mouth to know why no sound was coming out of it, "While the troll was disoriented, I used the spell of levitation to levitate his club, and after that I transfigured him into an iron spike, which with the help of the {Impulse} spell I was able to cast through his chest," I finished.

"Serious?!" Professor Flitwick asked in surprise, and I nodded, "That was a great spell streak and a great strategy" he said nodding his head somewhat impressed.

"I do what I can," I said, wiping dust off my shoulder.

"But shouldn't a troll be resistant to physical attacks too?" Granger asked confused.

"Oh, Mr. Granger, a troll can be resistant to physical and magical attacks, but he's not immune," Professor Flitwick explained, and I was pretty sure that if Granger had a paper and a pen with her, she'd be writing this information down.

One good thing about the spells I used is that they were all taught to us this year, except the {Impulse} which I can explain that was learned for myself in my time at Hogwarts. The only other advanced spell I used was {Accio}, however since I did it silently, the trio will probably take a while to figure out I used it.

"Did you have to kill him?" Headmaster Dumbledore then asked me with a frown.

"Maybe I could defeat him without having to kill him," I replied with a shrug.

"Then why don't you—" Headmaster Dumbledore started to say, only to be interrupted by me.

"because I'd rather make sure I could get these three idiots out of there alive without having to depend on a 'maybe'" I said, ignoring Professor McGonagall's "Language".

"Sigh. My boy, not everything is resolved with violence," he said with his disappointed look that had zero effect on me.

I then looked deep into their eyes without backing down and answered.

"And not everything is resolved by giving second chances" and that seemed to stun the Headmaster for a moment, before he sighed.

"It's okay" he said tiredly, "At least no one here got hurt" he continued, trying to lighten the tense atmosphere that had remained.

"Yes... But you must still be punished for your recklessness. I take 5 points from Miss Granger for lying. And I take 10 points from each of you three for acting so irrationally" Professor McGonagall said, ignoring the look helpless of Potter and Weasley. And looking at us she continued, "However, for deciding to help a colleague in a time of danger, I give each of you 20 points!" she continued, a rare smile on her face.

"Also, for his splendid use of spells, I think Mr. Night should be given 20 more points" Professor Flitwick added, and no professor complained, in fact Professor McGonagall even looked at me proudly.

I then let a small smile appear on my face, ignoring the jealous feelings coming from Weasley and the confused and happy feelings coming from Potter.

"But I hope nothing like that happens again" Professor McGonagall said looking at us grimly.

"""Yes, Professor McGonagall""" and the trio was quick to agree.

Professor McGonagall then turned to me awaiting my response.

"Well…you mean I shouldn't face the next troll that enters the castle?" I asked with an 'innocent' smile.

"I meant that I don't want to see you getting into something this dangerous ever again," she said, speaking word for word.

"Ohh! Why didn't you say that before?" I asked, acting the epitome of 'confused', "In that case, fine" I said quickly, seeing Professor McGonagall's gaze on me intensified.

"Hm... Good" she said, nodding her head satisfied.

'Would she consider a Basilisk dangerous' I asked myself, and as if she knew I was thinking something stupid, Professor McGonagall turned to me sharply and started to glare at me. And I, who could win an Oscar for my performances, looked up at her with an innocent, friendly smile on my face, which earned me a pair of narrowed eyes.

End.

(End AN: Random AN, simply because I feel like there's something wrong when I don't put an End AN at the end of chapters.

This is a question I would ask my fanfic-reading friends if I had friends who read fanfics.

What is your favorite fanfic? It's a fanfic based on which fictional world?

This can also serve as the readers' recommendation area, lol.

Thanks for reading the chapter!)
