-Hogwarts Express-

"I still can't believe we didn't win the House Cup" Terry said with a sad sigh.

"Dude, you've been complaining about this since last night," Anthony said in exasperation.

"I'm complaining because victory was at our fingertips!" Terry said, making a grasping gesture with his hands, before leaning back in his defeated seat.

"Yes, I know... Only there wasn't much we could do, because someone decided to prank Snape and lost some points at the last minute" Anthony said looking out of the corner of his eye at me, and Terry who heard he turned to me with a frown.

"Why are you looking at me? I'm not the only one who lost points this final week," I said defensively.

"Yes, but no one but you lost 30 points in one go. And you had to prank Professor Snape? The worst, most spiteful teacher we have?" Terry asked me, and I saw his hands shaking as he looked at my neck, and I suspected he was thinking about hanging me.

"First, Professor Snape took points from me unfairly, as he had no proof that I was the one who pranked him, and second, I don't know why you're complaining, I've earned more than triple the points the two of you together failed to earn" I said, crossing my arms as I looked at them with a raised eyebrow.

"..."

"..."

"Sometimes I hate it when you use a valid argument against us" Terry said narrowing his eyes.

"What can I say? I'm amazing," I said as I raised my hands innocently.

"Hey guys, I'm back" Stephen said opening our compartment door, with Michael behind him.

"Where are the girls?" Anthony asked seeing that only the two of them had entered the compartment.

"Oh, they're in another compartment with the Hufflepuff girls having a 'Girl Talk,' whatever that means" Michael shrugged sitting next to Terry, elbowing him aside to get more space, with Terry turning to him frowning.

"Why don't you go sit next to Ethan? There's an empty space next to him," Terry said.

"I don't know if you're blind, but his cat is sleeping over there," Michael said, pointing to Nyx who was curled up dozing next to me.

"Simple, take her and put her on your lap or you can ask Ethan to put her on his lap" Terry insisted.

"Do you want me to wake up that monstrous being?!" Michael asked shocked, looking at Terry like he was an idiot, "Did you see what she did to Billy Steeler's face when he tried to get her out of the armchair and ended up waking her up?"

After Michael said that, Terry looked at him in a silence that lasted 5 seconds.

"…Well, now that you've reminded me, I really think it's best to let her sleep over there" Terry said, shivering as he glanced at Nyx.

And as the two of them talked about Nyx, I looked at them blankly before turning to Nyx.

'What the hell did you do to Billy's face?' I wondered looking at her strangely.

-Platform 9 ¾-

"I'm telling you, the Yellow Cannions have a stronger attack than the Olympus" Terry said to Anthony, who shook his head in denial.

"Their offense is not stronger, Olympus have Lucian Clayer as a chaser, and besides, their defense is one of the most difficult to pass in the championship" Anthony said.

"Yes, however..."

"Guys, can you guys stop talking about Quidditch for at least a few minutes?" I asked rolling my eyes tiredly, "You guys have been talking about Cannions and Olympus for over two hours now"

"Even if I don't like it I have to agree with Ethan" Michael said with an irritated face, "I like Quidditch but I'm tired of hearing you guys talk about it"

"Really? Or is it that you're irritated that you can't hear your own voice in your thoughts?" Anthony scoffed.

"Maybe he're upset that his team didn't make it past the group stage" Terry joined Anthony in the mockery.

"At least my team didn't have to appeal to the commission for a few days off because of a mysterious illness"

"Oh, but at least my team..."

As the boys began their thirteenth argument since waking up this morning, I turned around and started looking for my family, finding them standing in a corner talking to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

I then ignored the boys behind me and went over to them, but halfway through I felt a strange thing. A sensation and a magic I had felt before.

Glancing slightly to the side in the direction of this familiar magic I saw that in a corner of the platform Greengrass had just been reunited with her family, and I noticed a pale little girl a little younger than me happily chatting with her older sister.

'Astoria…' I thought, looking at the girl's rather fragile appearance, realizing that the familiar magic I felt came from her.

Without even needing to use my Magic Vision I could see that Astoria's magic was weak, and that also caused her health to be bad.

'Damn Marcel' I swore in my mind, turning away and not looking at the Greengrass family anymore.

Seeing Astoria's happy smile and weak appearance made me sick.

I was looking at an innocent little girl who was basically destined to die young.

'Well, not if I can stop it... and I will' I thought resolutely.

"Ethan?" I heard my mom call out to me, stopping her conversation with the Weasleys and looking at me.

"Oh hi mom" I said with a smile, putting my thoughts aside and continuing to walk towards my parents.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Weasley," I said to both of them.

"Hello dear" Molly said with a smile on her face.

"Hello Ethan" Arthur said, "Have you seen the boys and Ginny around?" he asked me, looking at the students getting off the Hogwarts Express.

"The twins were talking to Lee, and Ginny is with Luna over there" I said pointing to a corner where Ginny, Luna and her father were talking, "Ron is probably getting into some trouble" I continued, shrugging my shoulders.

"Oh" was the only thing Molly could tell, remembering the flying car incident earlier in the year.

"Well, it's late, so I guess we'll be going" my dad said as he saw the time on the platform clock, "It was nice talking to you Arthur, and it was nice to meet you Molly" he said shaking hands with Arthur and nodding to Molly.

"And I say the same. It was nice meeting you Molly, maybe one day we'll arrange to have tea and talk" my mother said, hugging Molly.

"Oh Sarah, the pleasure was all mine. It's always nice to meet new people so nice" Molly said with a smile returning the hug.

She then turned to me and gave me a tight hug.

"Come visit us this vacation too Ethan, the kids had a great time when you came last time" Molly said.

"You can be sure I will visit them again" I said with a smile as I shook hands with Arthur.

After that, I said goodbye to my friends and their parents, and with my parents I left Platform 9 ¾ through the pillar passageway, where we made our way to our house.

-Nights' House-

"Sigh... Finally, Home sweet home" I said opening my arms and taking a deep breath as I entered in the house.

I then went over to the couch in the living room and lazily threw myself on it, feeling the comfort and relief of being home reaching out to me.

My parents, seeing my relaxed appearance, looked at each other and shook their heads with ironic smiles on their faces.

My dad put Cele down and she came running to my side, lazily throwing herself as well, mimicking me.

"Home sweet home" she repeated sweetly, and I rubbed her head affectionately.

Seeing us lying on the couch, my parents came over and sat on the couch across from me, with us now only separated by the center table in the middle of the living room.

"So dear, tell me. How was this year at Hogwarts?" my mom asked me, resting her elbows on her thighs and resting her face with her hands on her chin, looking at me with curiosity and interest.

"Oh, the usual... I did some magic, I made some weird new friends, I studied and read a lot of books, I played a lot of pranks, I jinxed some stupid bullies, I found out my teacher was a criminal, my team won the Quidditch Cup and I finished the school year as the top student of my year for the second time" I said nonchalantly waving my hand, not even opening my eyes.

As soon as I finished speaking I noticed that my parents were silent, and opening one eye slightly I saw that they were looking at me with blank faces and twitching eyes.

"Just kiddingI said laughing nervously when I saw the looks my parents were giving me, and then I sat down properly on the couch, "Actually a lot has happened this year, but nothing as impressive as last year's events"

Seeing that my parents and Cele were now paying attention to me I put a finger to my chin, thinking of all the interesting events that had happened this year that I could tell my parents about.

'Do I tell them about my confrontation with Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets?' I asked myself, with an amused smile on my face, 'Nah, maybe in a few years' I shrugged.

I then spent the rest of the day talking about my year at Hogwarts for my parents, answering their questions while also showing Cele a few spells to entertain her.

My parents also told me about the relevant things that had happened in the Muggle world and how my book sales were doing and how my readers received the books I published before I went to school.

And my mom said that while I was at school the Flamels visited them, which caused me to look at them with a raised eyebrow.

I guess I should have noticed this sooner, but it wasn't until now that I noticed that the wards around our house felt different, stronger and more powerful.

'Well, I guess those are the perks of having a friendship with two immortal alchemists' I thought, with a small wry smile on my face.

End.
