-Great Hall – Breakfast-

"It's strange to think that another school year is coming to an end... I remember like it was yesterday the day I walked through these doors as a nervous and excited first year, waiting for my turn to be selected for a house" Terry said in a sad and nostalgic voice.

"And I remember like it was yesterday the day Professor Snape gave you two weeks' detention for putting the crustacean seaweed before the bull's eyes in the brew potion," Anthony said with a sigh, looking off into space with a look of happiness and nostalgia as well.

"But this happened yesterday," Terry said with a frown.

"And like I said…I remember it like it was yesterday," Anthony replied, looking at Terry with a smile that made his eye twitch.

"Hoot!"

"Hmm, is it mail time yet?" Stephen wondered, looking up to see all the owls coming through the open windows of the Great Hall.

"Strange... I don't have a subscription to the Daily Prophet" Padma said, holding the newspaper that an owl dropped in her hands.

"The owl may have gotten confused and handed the newspaper to the wrong person" Terry guessed.

"I don't think so, I also received a copy of the newspaper, and I'm not a subscriber either," Lisa said, with a confused face.

"Err... I don't think you were the only ones to receive today's newspaper" Stephen said, looking around and seeing that all the students and even the teachers were holding a copy of the newspaper in their hands.

"That's weird..." Terry muttered, "I'm a Prophet subscriber, but this time I didn't even have to pay for today's paper."

"Err... Guys... I suggest you read the main article, I think it's a topic that might interest you" Sue said, looking with a strange face towards the main table.

"Merlin's withered balls!" I heard a third year exclaim in shock, and ignoring his odd choice of words, many other people were probably feeling the same way he was.

"This... I... What?!" Anthony said, getting lost in his own words.

"Well... I always knew he was a self-centered fraud, but now this... This I didn't expect at all" Terry said, his eyes glued to the news item in the newspaper.

And I, who was watching and listening to all this, just looked at the chaos the Daily Prophet was causing with a smile on my face, reading this week's edition of The Quibbler.

Glancing lightly at the newspaper one of the owls had left in front of me, I saw the article that was causing this ruckus in the Great Hall.

On the cover of the Daily Prophet was a large picture of Lockhart holding one of his many books as he smiled and waved, posing for a photo, and in big, flashy letters above his picture read "The Big Fraud!! The Hoax That Tricked Thousands".

With this title and the image of Lockhart on the cover it was pretty obvious what the news that was written in the article was talking about. And to make my day better, and Lockhart's worse, the one who wrote this article was none other than our dear Rita Skeeter.

Hiding my smirk I went back to reading my Quibbler.

"The article is saying that Lockhart graduated with mediocre grades from school," Sue whispered, striking up a conversation with our group of friends.

"Yes, and look at that part! It says here that Lockhart did none of the feats mentioned in his books, and that it was actually other wizards and even some Muggles who did, and that he stole their stories and took credit for their achievements" Padma said, shocked.

"And he also erased the memory of the people from whom he stole the stories and feats," Michael said. He then paused for a moment, "Wait... Isn't that considered a crime?" he asked.

"Obviously yes Michael" Lisa replied, "Only certified and authorized Aurors can erase other people's memory"

"And I heard from my father that anyone other than an official Ministry Obliviator who uses the Obliviate spell on someone can be sent to Azkaban!" Mandy said, looking terrified, "And look! Here in the article it's talking about it, and a wizard can really be sent to Azkaban if he erases someone's memory without permission from the ministry"

"So does that mean Lockhart is a criminal?" Anthony asked, and upon receiving a nod from the others he slowly began to turn his head to look at Lockhart at the staff table.

Lockhart was also reading the Daily Prophet, and his face was pale and his eyes showed that he was shocked and scared.

When he read the part that said his actions were considered crimes by the ministry and that he should be imprisoned in Azkaban, he stood up in shock, not believing what he was reading.

Lockhart then seemed to notice the silence that was in the Great Hall, and he lifted his head to look at the students.

Lockhart, seeing that everyone was looking at him, broke into a sweat, looking around nervously and seeing that everyone had a copy of the Daily Prophet in their hands.

He then started looking around for a way out.

I could feel him starting to get more nervous with each passing second, and I could see his hand twitch, and I knew it was because he wanted to get his wand that was in his pocket to Obliviate everyone.

He then looked to the side, meeting Headmaster Dumbledore's serious gaze, and that look was enough to make Lockhart realize that it wasn't a good idea to pull out his wand in front of one of the most powerful wizards alive and several capable teachers.

Lockhart then, with a high-pitched, startled squeal, quickly climbed down from the staff table and ran out of the Great Hall.

Usually when Lockhart ran out of the Great Hall it was because he was caught in a prank, and usually everyone laughed and made fun of him, but this time everyone just looked at him leaving with looks of contempt and suspicion, and a strange silence and tension filled the Great Hall.

...

...

...

"I may not be an Auror or anything like that, but wouldn't it be wise to send some professor after him to stop him from escaping?" I asked aloud, breaking the tense silence of the Great Hall, "I don't know, maybe a competent and powerful teacher like Professor Snape for example" I finished with an innocent look.

As soon as I finished speaking, the students turned to look at me, then at the Headmaster and Professor Snape. The Headmaster then looked at me analytically with his bright eyes before turning and speaking to Professor Snape.

As soon as the Headmaster finished speaking Professor Snape nodded and rose from his seat. He then climbed down from the staff table and began to walk towards the great doors of the Great Hall, with his cloak billowing behind him.

And I could feel from his emotions that he was elated and very happy, with a small sense of revenge emanating from him.

He then continued walking, but when he arrived in front of my seat at the Ravenclaw table he stopped, before looking at me and giving me an almost imperceptible nod, which I returned with my own nod, and shortly after that he continued to walk.

As he continued to walk towards the doors, all the students and teachers saw Professor Snape leaving the Great Hall, and we all already knew that Lockhart wouldn't be too happy for Professor Snape's surprise visit.

"You know Ethan, sometimes I forget how evil and cruel you can be" Terry said still looking at the Great Hall doors.

"Thanks for the compliment," I said with an innocent smile on my face.

"I almost feel sorry for Lockhart" Stephen said, and we all turned to look at him strangely, "I said almost" he defended himself.

...

...

...

...

"So Anthony, do you still want a Lockhart's autograph?" I asked, with a mocking look on my face that would make Malfoy jealous.

But instead of answering me Anthony just made a disgusted face, looking disgustedly at the photo of Lockhart in the newspaper.

"Second time he's become a fanboy, and it's also the second time he's been let down by his idol" Terry whispered to me in amusement, "What will be the disappointment of the school year next?"

Listening to Terry I just huffed in amusement, but then a thought came to my mind.

'I hope he's not a Peter 'War Hero' Pettigrew fanboy' I thought dryly.

End.

(End AN: Hmm, this month of September is going by really fast... Or maybe I'm just so busy that I didn't even notice the time passing.)
