EPISODE 7: The S Familia Boss

Yuna could not say anything more because once her lady boss decided to do something, she would make it even if it would get hard for her. Until she recalled something that her lady boss needed to know.

"My lady, before I forget, they're waiting for you in your private room," Yuna informed her boss of something that was already waiting in her private meeting room within her office.

Veronica nodded. "I'll be there and double-check this file from the lower department."

"Yes, my lady." Yuna politely bowed as Veronica headed to the next room within her office.

With a strong cold facade, Veronica waltzed inside her private room where two ladies and a man stood up with respect. They didn't say anything to each other until Veronica took her seat on her chair making them follow.

Veronica sternly looked at them since she was not just the CEO of Ceil De Luna but the mafia boss of S Familia. "Report your updates."

"Yes, Boss." one lady spoke first and her name was Kath, and handed a file to her. "Mr. Johnson is confirmed on illegal stuff. He also maliciously touches teenagers and teaches them to do sexy stuff."

"Sexy stuff. Is he selling them as sex toys?" Veronica guessed and Kath confirmed with a nod. "Hm, that will be a fun hunt then. Next."

"Mrs. Everlyn Pendelton is meeting with the Salazar Empire regarding the free lot around the city to build a restaurant behind her husband's back," Yohan reported as he gave the captured images about his assigned task. "Honestly boss, she is the sole core reason why the Pendelton have businesses around the area. They might be small but everything was run under her name and her son." He added.

"So, that's their son…" Veronica smirked upon seeing the image of their son. "Seems to me, my plan will work even more around them." 

"What should we do to them right now?" Yohan wondered.

"Nothing as for now. Just kept Everlyn and her son on the watch, especially her husband." She answered before tossing the captured images of the Pendleton. "Be sure no one will suspect you," she added. "Next."

"Some movement around the S Empire as they searched for Valerie Stirling lately," Asa reported causing them to look at her. "I'm just saying what I've noticed around that gang."

"Why they were looking for her?" Yohan asked before Veronica could.

"I am not sure but it seems to me that their boss acted desperate to gather information about whoever owns that name," Asa answered.

It made their boss quiet for some time before she put down the file that they had given to her. "Alright, one step at a time," Veronica said catching their attention again. "Kath, give me the entire details of Mr. Johnson since I'll be paying him a visit." Kath nodded upon hearing it. "Yohan, like I said, keep me updated on what was happening around the Pendelton as well their connections." She commanded to Yohan who nodded as well. "And Asa, find the S Empire's reason for looking for her. Since I don't want them stepping in my plan." 

As she firmly commanded them, they all stood up straight and saluted at her before complying with what they needed to do. But before Asa could even step outside, she was halted.

"Asa, stay for a moment, please." Veronica stopped in her tracks. "Does your wife know something about it?"

Asa sighed. "Boss, even she knew, I'm not interfering since it's work unless she needed my help."

"I see…" Veronica just nodded while playing with her pen.

"Boss, are perhaps worried that they might find out who you really are?" she pointed out making Veronica sigh as she nodded.

"That too. That's why I need you to know what's their reason." She told Asa who understood her boss's reason.

"Don't worry I will find it and email whatever I could find about it," Asa assured her boss. "So, can I be excused now?"

"You may and don't let the others know about it." She reminded her and Asa left to do her task.

Even though Veronica did her usual routine around her company, she began to recall what Sebastian just offered to her. She's been thinking about it whenever she was taking a break from her busy schedule. She was weighing things in balance while thinking about where she could use them.

"Ms. Santiniez, are you alright?" a friend's voice asked Veronica cutting her from her deep thought.

Veronica smiled politely. "Yes, I am fine, Ms. Salazar."

"Ashley will do since Salazar is well-known around." Ashley half-heartedly joked about it and Veronica was amused. "And since we're talking about my investment here, what do you think about five percent for my first two years?" she asked directly.

Veronica understood why she was offering that. "I don't mind you trying it out first since I know the Salazar family won't just invest into something that wasn't making sure about it first," she assured her since she doesn't want to slip a Salazar investing in her company.

"Well, I asked my brother for this opinion before deciding." Ashley giggled. "Also, I've been wanting to have a personal connection to El Fregamo since I love your products there. I also wanted to give some ideas if I am allowed to." She added her reason and Veronica was amused as she was reminded about someone she used to know.

"Alright, you're the first one that I'm going to allow because you're not only the first investor of El Fregamo but my partner in that business, so what do you say?" Veronica offered out of the blue and Ashley was shocked to the point she just passed out. "Oh boy, I think I made the wrong approach."

It was a good sign that Ashley's faint was not that severe, she was just shocked and didn't know how to react after learning that she was not just an investor but a partner of El Fregamo. Veronica found her reaction funny but did not show her expression. She kept herself neutral.

As their meeting finished with flying colors and no more unexpected matters happened, her day completely ended around the company. But some annoying stalker tails her car making them do some race.

Veronica's trust and loyal driver-bodyguard noticed something and informed his boss. "My lady, three unidentified cars tailing us in the right distance."

"Oh, is that so." Veronica was not surprised anymore since it had been happening since last week when she headed home after attending the event. "Shake them off and make sure we're not being tracked."

Her driver nodded in understanding. "Understood, my lady."

Veronica's driver-bodyguard Nash began on his count while driving and passing the residential town until an unknown car stopped beside them as they hit a traffic light. Having a fully tainted car, nobody could see who was inside the car but since they were being stalked again, it was given.

Nash grinned as the traffic lights turned green. "Buckle up." He hit the accelerator and drove the car naturally since they were still in the busy streets. Not until Nash added more as soon as they passed another traffic intersection before turning deep right then the chasing cars happened. "This is going to be fun."

Veronica just shook her head since her driver was once again enjoying his fast-chasing car drive. "Don't lose your focus, Nash."

"I will, my lady." Nash grinned. "Just enjoy the ride."

Nash was indeed a really good driver and he was a fast thinker whenever things like this pumped his blood in such a rush. As soon as their car hit the open space, there was no traffic and only a few cars on the road when bullets came flying at their car. Good thing their car was not just fully tainted but also bulletproof.

"Oh, they have guns." Veronica chuckled since she was not bored over the rollercoaster ride. "Put some music on the list." She even suggested.

Nash nodded and found one. "How about Fully Alive by Flyleaf?" He wondered.

"Go ahead." She smirked since she liked the beat of that song.

As the music began echoing in the car, Nash was indeed having a blast as he got into his rhythm in driving. But when another attempt was sent to their car, Nash changed lanes to pass the cars in the way. Doing that, Nash must take them down one by one. He started on the car that was pressing to get close to them and even tried to break their car glass but he didn't let it happen.

Nash chuckled. "Are they that stupid for not realizing that our car is bulletproof?"

"Let them be, Nash." Veronica shook her head over their stalkers' stupidity. "Just drive your way."

"Understood, my lady." Nash focused on his drive while the song's beat kept pumping his adrenaline rush.

When Nash found some opening along the road, he quickly turned the wheels, pulled the hand brake, and let their car drive backward for a couple of meters. Along that drastic move, once again, Nash pulled out his black Ruger Mark III and shot three bullets. It hit the headlights of the car and tires making the first stalker's car stumble in such impact. It made another opening for Nash to maneuver their car back to its usual drive but that wasn't the end of it since there were two cars still chasing them.

Nash began to notice the two remaining stalkers' cars tried to sandwich them. "Not gonna happen." but he didn't let that happen since he managed to hit the break causing them to collide against each other. "What a bumpy car ride for you." he chuckled.

"Nash, focus." Veronica reminded her driver to calm himself down. "You're having too much fun on this." 

Nash chuckled at her lady's reminder. "Sorry, my lady." but he apologized.

As the collision happened in those cars, Nash proceeded on his drive ahead of those cars. Yet, there was still being followed when another bullet tried to break their car. They were stupid and wasting bullets from their attempts that not gonna happen. Nash sighed as he readied himself.

Nash noticed that they were getting closer to the tunnel heading to the small airport. "Ready, my lady?" Nash asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt as he hit the accelerator.

"Just do your job fast but clean," Veronica told him and he smirked.

The chase kept going but it was close to its end as their car passed the tunnel. Nash strongly maneuvered their car and with his quick move, he stepped out from the car and drew his two powerful guns to shoot against the incoming cars that were chasing them. As soon as those bullets touched the sensitive part of the cars, they began to lose control and clashed with each other which caused some explosion due to the impact. On the other hand, when the bullets were delivered, Nash quickly got back inside the car after it was done 360 degrees moved and drove as if nothing happened.

"Are you okay, my lady?" Nash asked as their drive went quiet.

Veronica answered. "I'm fine." However, her eyes have been glued on her phone ever since their car hit the chase. "I'm just reading some reports here."

"Thought so," Nash smirked and just drove their car till they made it back to the mansion.
