Sandy Shores Alpha Cricket

“To comprehend that you were a werewolf at the age of thirteen is a hair-raising event. For one, it is your destiny to become such a great leader. For two, the werewolf inside you selects your love interest.” Cricket always struggled with the idea of becoming an alpha. He never felt like a good leader or had a strong desire to lead. Chapter Three

Present time

What was that about earlier?" I direct my attention to Chetan, who was sitting on the logs in front of the fire speaking with Dev. Those two in my eyes seem to be the strongest relationship in the whole entire pack.

I see him narrow his eyes at me. Apparently, he doesn't like to explain himself.

"Well?"

"I would take a few steps back. She was mine first, remember."

"Yes, Chetan, I do. And I am constantly reminded when my mate has trouble fully committing to me."

I see the anger escaping his face, and it starts to soften. "Look bro, I know that's a really hard situation. Kiara, and I have been through a lot together, and she finds a lot of comfort in me. I mean, she's been sleeping in my bed for a long time. Just give her some time, I know she'll come around."

I nod. He's right, I am being a dick, just expecting her to adjust to me and not having him there.

"Honestly, this was like any other situation, you and I would be in a physical altercation, I was very protected over her."

"If you love her so much, then why go with your mate?"

He looks down for a moment. "As much as I love one twin, my heart is embedded with another. And that's the problem. She feels like I picked her sister over her, and those feelings kind of go along with our relationship. I was a popular high school football star, and she was a school geek. Give this time, and soon she'll be like Chetan who.

"Look when she's upset, just don't comfort her, and she'll find that in me."

Chetan's breath escapes his lips. "Look dude, I can't do that. She's upset about me and I'm not going to completely abandon her."

"I am not going to lie, I find it weird that you guys are all touching each other's girls. Kiara is mine, period. Your lips and hands are to be completely off her, that is what I want."

"Oh boy," Dev says, shaking his head.

"Listen, Grasshopper, I am literally trying to end things with my girlfriend of years, so you be with your mate, and I am cool with it. I want Zare, but Kiara is having trouble adjusting, so you're just going to have to deal with it."

"Grasshopper," Dev laughs so hard, he nearly falls off the leg.

"Nice joke, little bitch."

"Bitch." Chetan stands up from the log.

Dev grabs Chetan by that shirt, pulling him back down."

"Look, you don't need beef with anyone else. Save your energy for the fight with Ajay over your girl."

I notice Chetan glancing over at the oak tree, Zare has practically cried herself to sleep. Chetan is trying to keep his hands off her, until Kiara and him are completely finished and she's happy with me.

Honestly, I hate the way Ajay was treating her, and I need to make sure he isn't using Aanya. The other night, seeing Zare chop wood really turned me off about Ajay. Chetan should be beating his ass.
