Sandy Shores Alpha Cricket

“To comprehend that you were a werewolf at the age of thirteen is a hair-raising event. For one, it is your destiny to become such a great leader. For two, the werewolf inside you selects your love interest.” Cricket always struggled with the idea of becoming an alpha. He never felt like a good leader or had a strong desire to lead. How does he transition in Ajay's pack? Which alpha gains more control? And will Kiara love him as much as Chetan?

Chapter Five

Kiara is fast asleep next to me, I cover her completely with a blanket. I quickly put on my clothes so I can sit by the fire, and I know I'll catch Ajay sneaking back into camp. I heard him leave, and I know what he is doing. I know he'll end up having sex with both women at this point. It's not fair to Aanya or Chetan.

I make my way to the fire, and with the camp dead silent, I know everyone is asleep.

I take my place at the log. I listen to a little owl hoot in the tree above. It was peaceful, with the twinkling stars in the sky. As much as I love my girl, I don't know if I can remain in this pack. This shit is crazy. I could never imagine having beef with one of my cubs. Ajay deserves an ass whooping from Chetan, and I hope it happens one day. Chetan proved how much more of a man he is by stepping back and giving Kiara the rightful mate she deserves.

I see Ajay walking back into camp. I am sure my face wears a huge cracky grin.

"So you got me." Ajay rolls his eyes.

"Dude, I thought Zare needed alone time after her disappearing act?"

"You know, I wouldn't not put my mind at ease knowing where she's at."

I roll my eyes.

He crossed his arms over his chest. "I can't help, I'm so protective of her."

I nod. "But that doesn't mean you have to sleep with her."

I see the guilt it's written all over his face. Believe it or not, Ajay is a good person, and I bet lying is eating him alive, no matter how much he loves her.

He walks over and sits down next to me. He lets out a deep breath. I know he is feeling stressed out.

"Look, I gave Chetan every opportunity to pursue her and even warn him of my feelings for her, but he decided to stay with Kiara, and now I am the bad guy."

"She's not worth tearing your pack apart. If she was cub, she would have been banished a long time ago. I don't tolerate that type of behavior."

"And what if it was Kiara, say she was your cub and acting like Zare?"

"Kiara wouldn't disobey me like that without proper consequences."

He laughs. "And what's a proper consequence?"

"Throw her out in the wild, make her live on her own. She'll learn she loved the protection, and the sense of family. I guarantee you she'll beg for you to take her back, and she'll start listening."

He looks down, "That's a little harsh."

"Well, sometimes love is harsh."

Hearing Zare howl, I knew she was in some type of trouble again. Again, this bullshit again. Damn, do any of us ever get a break from this continuous bullshit? Ajay is the first to take off, and then Chetan wakes up, and dash off into the woods after him.

My feet move towards Kiara before I offer my assistance. I see the members of the packs leave one by one.

Kiara is sitting up rubbing her eyes. I know she is shaken up, her face is a little paler than normal. Her eyes wide as she analyzed me.

"There's something going on with Zare, I'll see if I can help."

"I am coming with you," she tells me, getting up.

"Babe, stay here, I don't want you in danger."

"She's my sister, I am coming." Kiara gives me a stern look. And then I realize, maybe all that conversation about her obeying me was just talk earlier with Ajay.
