Nearing her end

" Here "

The boy said as he laid his sack of leaves on the floor of a small house, which only had one bedroom, and one bed, it didn't even have a living room, anyone with common sense would think that this house was a storage room.

" Here? "

Shu questioned, as he looked around, staring at the small walls, short ceiling and dirty ground, he was so used to big places that this felt odd to him.

" Why are you living in such a shitty place like this? "

He added, interrogating the boy with a great amount of innocence behind his tone, the boy simply chuckled as he walked toward the bed

" I'm not sure if you're trying to insult my household or just genuinely curious as to why I'm living here "

The kid replied, as he placed his hands on the bed, laying them on top of someone who seemed to be resting

" I'm back mother, I brought the herbs, and a lot of them too, they should help you heal "

The kid said to the corpse like person he referred to as his mother. Her skin was dry, and her muscles looked deflated, if one listened closely they could hear her bones cracking.

" What are you going to do with these? "

Shu questioned, as he shoved his hands inside of the sack to 'herbs' taking out a handful and shoving it inside of his own mouth, chewing on it a few seconds later

" Take that out of your mouth!!!! "

The boy yelled, jumping on top of Shu, lashing at his mouth in an attempt to take out the leaves he had eaten

" Please, please don't eat that! My mom needs it! "

The boy begged, tears beginning to fall from his eyes as he tried to open Shu's mouth with his small hands

" Your mom needs this? "

Shu questioned, proceeding to grab the boy by both sides of his waist, squeezing tightly before placing him on the ground

" Yes! Yes she doe- "

The boy was about to retaliate, planning to insult him with all he had but he was abruptly interrupted

" No she doesn't. I'm not very smart but I know my herbs, I've used a lot, and these aren't good for nothing, the only thing this is good for is burning the skin to stop blood from spilling out of a cut, apart from that, this thing is useless "

Shu explained, before grabbing the sack of herbs, staring into the bag carefully

" All of these are useless, you don't need these "

Shu added, squeezing the bag to then turn his attention to the crooked door, blowing it open with a kick

" Wait no! Please, my mom needs those "

The boy yelled, but he was interrupted yet again, this time not by Shu but by the storm of snow that pushed him back, and before he could get up, Shu had already hurled the sack into the air, far away from the village they found themselves in

" I thought.. "

The boy muttered, staring at Shu with eyes as cold as the snow that had just hit him

" What? "

Shu replied as he turned to look at the boy, whilst forming a warm bubble of sanctuary energy around the house

" I thought you were a good person "

The boy added, before turning his back to Shu, walking over to his mother, sitting down on his knees as he then placed his head on the bed

" I'm sorry mother, I couldn't keep you alive throughout the winter. The snow killed all the herbs and those were the last, with those you could've lasted a few more weeks, but I've made friends with a bad person so I lost them all "

The kid whispered, squeezing the worn out bed sheets, whilst his tears wetted them

" What are you on about? "

Shu questioned, whilst shoving his pinky finger inside of his nose, staring at both of them with a confused expression and tilted head

" I can fix her up real fast. By the looks of it, it just seems like her veins don't want to eat Sanctuary Energy, so her fiber doesn't recover, not even with food or medicine, right? "

Shu continued as the boy looked up at him, his eyes lighting up with hope the more Shu talked

" Well, I'll take that look as a yes. Anyway, I've had a few vein blockages, grandpa helped me fix those up for me, now I'll be able to do that for your mom "

Shu said as he pointed at the body, staring at it with a calm and innocent expression

" That is if- "

" Please! Help my mother!! I'll pay you with my life if I have to! "

The boy screamed, turning his body toward Shu, bowing quickly and slamming his head on the ground, causing blood to splash around

" I don't need payment, to be honest with you, to people like me this is like a nice person picking up an apple for someone that has dropped it "

Shu said as he raised his sleeves, whilst sitting on his knees, to then place his now glowing arms and hands on top of the boy's mother, causing her body to shine brightly.

The light would reflect off of the walls, making Shu's skin look blue, though, as captivating as the his skin was, that wasn't the most interesting thing that had happened, big rather what was happening to the mother.

Her muscle was gaining mass, and her skin began to look more clear, until it no longer looked dry, even the crooked and broken bones were healed, and after a few seconds, she seemed perfectly normal, completely different to her corpse like counter part

" That should do it "

Shu said, as the light his hands were releasing vanished, and his skin tone could be seen normally

" M-mom? "

The boy questioned, staring at his beautiful mother in complete shock, without wasting any time, he jumped onto the bed, surrounding his arms around his sleeping mother

" I don't like it when people cry in front of me, it makes me feel awkward, talk to me when you're done "

Shu said, walking out of the small house, sitting on the cold ground to them begin to meditate.
