CHAPTER 2

Meera was worried about Sameer and Rishika. She doesn't know what to do. She just sat silently on her bed trying not to be worried. Just then the doorbell rang, which made her sit straight up. When she looked at the time it was 5:30 am.

While Rishika woke up in a jerk when the doorbell rang. She looked at the door with so many emotions and tears started to fall from her eyes and ran towards the door and opened it and saw who it was and tears started to fall even more.

" mam milk," said a milkman showing a milk bottle. Rishika started crying that Sameer has not yet come home. Milkman didn't understand what happened to make to cry so much. He was frightened that he has done something to her.

" mam did I hurt you or upset you, mam I am sorry if I did," said the milkman just then Meera came and took the bottle.

" no Raju you didn't do anything don't worry," said Meera and dismissed him and saw Rishika looking at the gate excepting someone.

Meera sighed and took Rishika inside and forcefully sent her to freshen up. After a few minutes, Meera got a call that showed the hospital name and frowned and answered the call.

" Hello I am calling from sunrise hospital, am I speaking to Meera Rajput? " asked the nurse

" yes Meera Rajput speaking," said Meera

" mam Mysore hospital has informed that they found a car at the bottom of the mountains looked like fallen from the mountains and found a heavily injured person in the car and transferred him to our hospital. When police investigated the car found that it was found that the car belonged to your son Sameer Rajput. Can you come to the hospital and confirm if it is your son or not " said the nurse waiting for her answer.

Meera was stunned to say anything looking at the door in which Rishika is present. After a thew seconds, she collected her thoughts and answered the call that she will come in an hour and ended the call.

Just then Rishika came outside wearing a comfortable salwar kurta dress which is in lavender color and saw Meera standing still and lost in thoughts.

" aunty, what happened to you, look like you are lost, in thoughts. Did Sameer call you? " asked Rishika.

Listening to Rishika Meera, came out of her thoughts and looked at Rishika and moved, her head negatively, urged her toward the dining table and made her sit on the chair, and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Even though they are rich, Meera and Sameer like to keep their life private. Sameer likes to eat his mother's cooking so no chef is allowed to cook only when his mother is sick he used to eat food prepared by the chef.

while cooking Rishika came near Meera and sat on the counter and gave companionship to Meera while she was cooking. Rishika sat silently thinking about Sameer. So, Meera started talking to distract her.

" Rishi you have been here all night, why didn't your parents call yet? " asked Meera which made Rishika look at her and smiled a little.

"I wish they called aunty, so I can at least think that they care about me but I think it will always be a dream for me," said Rishika listening to her words Meera stopped cooking and she patted her head.

" did you leave the house Rishi," asked Meera. Rishika nodded her head. Meera sighed and smiled at her sweetly.

" don't be sad, we are with you from now onwards," said Meera and smiled sweetly thought

if Sameer doesn't make it, I will see you as my daughter cause I love you so much and I love you as much as my son -

They had their breakfast. " Rishi get ready we are going out," said Meera while going into her room leaving Rishika in her thoughts.

after a few minutes, Meera and Rishika sat in Meera's car and went out. After a few minutes, Meera stopped in front of a big hospital named sunrise which made Rishika lost in negative thoughts.

why did Aunty bring me here? don't tell me that Sameer is here. if it is? is he safe? -

she stood there with many thoughts in her mind which rise many emotions and started to cry. Meera saw took her hand gently which made Rishika look at Meera with so much emotion and questions in mind and pleading with her through her eyes why they were there.

Meera gave small smile and took her inside. while Rishika entered inside while seeing everyone in a rush she had a very bad feeling and her heart started to a little pain like something pierced into her heart but she ignored it and went inside with Meera.

Rishika was following Meera with cautious steps and looking around worried. They were roaming around with a nurse talking to Meera.

Rishika stopped when she noticed where they were going, making her heart stop. She stood like a statue and saw where they were going mortuary and met a constable there talked for some time but they didn't enter but went in another way leaving Rishika there with many unwanted thoughts in her mind.

why are we here? don't tell me that Sameer is dead!!! no please don't die, I can't live without you -

Rishika was in her thoughts and didn't notice anything. She started to feel the pain in her increasing little by little which is unbearable to her. While she was lost in her thoughts she failed to a little girl calling her.

" Sis..... " called a little girl while tugging her dress which made Rishika snap out of her thoughts and looked at the little girl who looked like she is 3 years.

" Sis c-can you help me, " asked a little girl

Rishika nodded not knowing her voice.

" Can you take in there " asked the little girl

Rishika bent to the little girl's height and looked at her who was red with tears running down. She looked in the direction the little girl pointed which made her sympathy, she looked at the little girl.

" If you eat ice cream with me, I will take you there," said Rishika but the little girl looked conflicted to answer.

" My mother said I shouldn't go out with strangers," said the little girl which made Rishika smile a little and stretched her hand.

" I am Rishika Kapoor and you are? " asked Rishika with a smile which made the little girl warm up her a little took her hand gave little handshake looked like a doll gave her a handshake.

" My name is also Rishika Shetty," said little Rishika which made Rishika a little laugh and looked at the little girl.

"you same name as me, It must be fate that we met. Now we know each other let's go eat ice cream if you eat I will take you to your father," said Rishika which made a little girl nodded her head eagerly. They informed to nearby nurse and went to the canteen where the children were taken care of when they cry so much.

They bought a pair of ice creams and started to eat them after, completing Rishika cleaned the little girl's mouth and hands. She took care of her like she was her younger.

" Where are your grandparents? " asked Rishika

" my mother said that they went to visit god and won't return so soon," said the little girl

Rishika looked at her with sad eyes, took her both little hands in her, and looked into her eyes.

" your father went near god to visit your grandparents. They spent some time together but have on his way return here but... " Rishika made a sad expression which made the little girl curious and eager and happy that her father is coming but confused about why her sister stopped talking and looking at her with shiny eyes.

" but got stuck in the middle of two ways which look alike and don't know which way to go. The thing is that one way leads to you but another way leads to where demons who are very hungry. If your father goes in a wrong way he won't come to you at all " said Rishika

the little girl was shocked to hear those words and started to worry " we can go near him and guide father to come back " said the little girl

Rishika sighed and moved her head negatively " no you can't cause to even meet god you have to cross a bridge full of spiders, insects, snakes, etc., so you cant guide him " said Rishika

when Rishika saw the little girl going to start crying she sighed and looked at the little girl brushed away her tears and kissed her forehead and looked at her red eyes.

" if you cry or ask him to come he might take the wrong way and won't ever come to you so dont cry " said Rishika little girl nodded her head.

" RISHIKA... RISHIKA... " someone shouted in the canteen.
