Chapter 16 - Seeking Wisdom

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the ashram in a serene twilight, Rama guided Chetak back to the stable. The two mares waited patiently by the wooden fence, their eyes shimmering with anticipation, as though they held a secret within.

"You've got friends waiting for you, Chetak," Rama said with a warm smile as he patted the horse's strong neck. Chetak responded with an appreciative nudge.

"Go on, enjoy their company," Rama encouraged Chetak, removing the saddle. With a bound, Chetak leaped over the wooden fence, displaying his grace, and joined the mares. Their interaction was filled with joy and the promise of new companionship, creating a peaceful harmony in the field.

Observing this heartwarming sight, Rama couldn't help but feel content knowing Chetak had found solace in the company of these mares. With a final glance at the trio, he proceeded to ensure Chetak's well-being in the stable.

With Chetak settled, Rama embarked on his journey to Parshurama's secluded cabin, a sense of purpose guiding his every step. The tranquil aura of the ashram deepened as the sun's last rays vanished.

Upon arriving at the cabin, he discovered Parshurama in the midst of deep meditation, an air of profound tranquility enveloping him. Hesitant to disturb his Guru's meditative trance, Rama quietly withdrew.

Yet, as he was about to step away, Parshurama, still deeply immersed in his meditation, uttered words that cut through the silence like a blade of wisdom. "Rama, you've returned."

Startled by the sage's awareness, Rama paused and bowed with respect. "Yes, Guru, I've returned, and I bring with me this new armor."

Even within his meditative state, Parshurama's perception was unmatched. He continued, "I sense your journey to KalaVijay has been quite eventful. Tell me, how was your experience there?"

Rama recounted his encounter with the monstrous boar, the challenges he had faced, and the triumphant victory. The pride in his Guru's expression was evident.

However, as the conversation unfolded, Rama's thoughts turned to the menacing asura he had encountered in the forest. With a deep breath, he broached the matter, "Guru, there's another issue I must discuss. During my time in the forest, I was attacked by a powerful asura."

At the mere mention of the word 'asura,' Parshurama's serene visage shifted. He sensed the urgency and opened his eyes, fixing them on Rama. "Another Asura? This can't be a coincidence. Rama, tell me more about this Asura."

Rama shared the details of his encounter, emphasizing that the asura had been after the Samantak pendant he possessed. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on the sage's mind.

With unwavering determination, Parshurama declared, "Rama, it is time for you to embark on your formal training. But before we commence, we must address the intrusion of Asuras on Earth. The balance must be restored."

Kneeling before his Guru, Rama expressed his deep gratitude. "Guru, I am forever grateful for your guidance and generosity. I am fully committed to my training."

Parshurama offered a kind smile and placed a reassuring hand on Rama's shoulder. "You are one of my most promising disciples, Rama. I believe in your potential. However, before we begin your training, we must seek guidance."

Intrigued, Rama inquired, "Seek guidance, Guru? From whom?"

Parshurama's eyes gleamed with resolve as he answered, "We shall visit Mahabali, the Demon King of Sutaloka. He may holds the key to understanding Asuras' true intentions for emerging on Earth. We must seek his wisdom."

As the tranquil night enfolded the ashram, Rama contemplated the impending journey. "But Guru, why do you believe Mahabali can provide the answers we seek?"

With unwavering faith, Parshurama responded, "Mahabali is not only a wise ruler of the demon realm but an old friend. It appears he might be in need of our aid, if Asuras are appearing on Earth. It is a journey we must undertake, my disciple."

However, little did Rama know that this journey would lead him into the depths of Patala, where he would uncover ancient secrets and confront unimaginable challenges that could alter the course of his destiny forever.

I was seriously considering a hiatus, but I got a system message urging me to write further. And so.. I begin again.
