[By the way] We are currently descending down towards the second layer (from the top) of the pyramid when Sybilla suddenly speaks and stares at Eve. [Wa-wassup?] [I have known of from the first time I saw you Eve-chan that you are a girl but there is something I need to confirm… Eve-chan, you've already received a class from a goddess, no?] [Ah… Err, yep. It happened later when the adults suddenly disappeared in our church, though I only got some memories about it. It just said imma level 1 . I just heard a woman's voice saying it's level 6 now though.] Assassin… So that's why she's able to do those quick movements earlier. People can work on the first dungeon even without advantages of their classes, that's why Sybilla told Eve to work in there, but things are almost close to impossible in the second dungeon onwards. [Hee~, so you really specialize in assassinations. Oh I just remember but isn't one of the people we work with in the third dungeon from Gale Thunder serve as their tank specializing in evasion? It's such a good class to have with lots of potential so you better train well.] [Eh-srsly!? Jackpot! Imma do my super best!] Eve then starts to jump around while doing some guts pose and starts talking to Emmy. We may seem relax on the surface but the fact is Sybilla's continuously looking out for any enemies. Everything should be fine unless she abruptly stops. There's just one thing I am curious about though. [Hey, Sybilla. Is the class just exclusive for priests and saint profession?] [Hm? Hm…. That's not entirely the case. But these jobs are the closest to upon performing an . It's like using all of your power to pull one thing to the other side all at once. Ah, it's like the higher a thing falls from the sky, the deeper in the lake it will fall, or something alike.] The higher you were, the deeper you'll fall, huh. I don't really get the theory behind it but I can somehow understand now how it works using that analogy. [Besides, there are more classes other than , you know? These classes will pull all of one's existing abilities and characteristics and change them into a class specializing in reaping the life of others. However… these changes don't come that easy.] [What do you mean?] [For us magic users, our power is just all about the mana that resides in our body, no? But for those whose classes depend on their physical abilities, the risk and the process of inversion is heavily concentrated on their physical bodies. Then, if by any chance, it fails, then…] [Then?] Sybilla's eyes are starting to fill with hesitation as she didn't answer immediately my question. Perhaps converting other classes into the Dusk involves far greater risks than I imagine? Then, just maybe, Sybilla…. Back in the past… I keep my eyes on her until her eyebrows frown in surrender and she starts to mutter… [They will start to scream full of agony in pain right in the middle of doing so. As such, there will be no other option but to stop.] Hearing her words… I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. […What's up with that reaction.] [Eh, no, after all what I was thinking for the consequences from the beginning would be dying, or having a part of one's body gone missing, or losing one's class and blessings.] [There's just no way I will absolutely do something that dangerous, you know!? In the first place, you know how I am when I converted you so how can I possibly do that!] [That's true, well, just forget it.] I gave her a brief reply to try to end this discussion here as Sybilla folds her hands on her chest and walks angrily. Emmy and Eve look a bit curious as to what happened as they look at me tilting their heads before I told them that it wasn't much. …What now, I just felt relieved. I know as a matter of fact that you are not a type of person who will endanger other people just to turn them into your own. Ofcourse it is something I know right from the get go, but being able to honestly say so is just another different type of hurdle. But really, the Dusk Goddess and the classes she blesses, huh. I am kind of curious what other classes these are but… For now, it's just me, the . I better work myself hard to make up for the other classes for the mean time while I'm still alone. We've just been walking all this while when we stumble on to a dead end. It's just a plain high wall with nothing else notable. We just can't now do anything but sigh at the moment as we haven't stumbled on to anything else but dead ends for quite a few times already. [What do you think of the situation, Sybilla?] [I got a bit of an idea of what all of you are currently thinking about – 'perhaps this sh*tty dungeon is just a room inside a pyramid and this place is nothing else but just a damn wide floor', no?] Even Eve and Emmy can't help but smile wryly hearing Sybilla pissed but it seems all of us thought of the exactly the same thing about the second layer of this structure. This place is just too peculiar as there is nothing to see in here but just a square area from a bird's point of view. Nothing else beside that. not even walls. And it's nothingness is the most peculiar thing in this place. We don't even have anything that can be used as reference to look for a way out. It sure is safe with no monsters around but the biggest enemy we have in this place is this exact emptiness. [Russell, keep on casting Extra Heal Link on regular intervals as much as you can.] [Understood.] [Emmy-chan, I'd like you to stay by my side and run beside me please.] [Ro-roger!] And with just that, Sybilla started madly dashing so abruptly. It's so sudden that it took a moment for Emmy to start and catch up as well leaving me and Eve flabbergasted before starting to chase behind them. We're running for a bit when Eve starts to speak as she had remembered something. [Sybilla-san, I can see that you makin' Emmy-san stomp while runnin' since the corners of the room but why's that?] It's the first instruction Sybilla had given after we defeated all the monsters. Emmy believes Sybilla without question and faithfully carries out her words by kicking every step with all her might. Sybilla looks satisfied and runs off again in the second layer as we resume our exploration. Perhaps what she wants to do is the same as what I am thinking of. [Now everything starts to make sense.] […Srsly? Perhaps I am mistaken but is Russell-san smart too? Is that something someone can really just make sense of?] [Ofcourse not… It's not something that someone can just immediately understand, I think.] Eve hasn't met the demon lord after all. If she just heard what things that guy's been spouting then perhaps she'll understand how despicable is that creature. I tell her my thoughts while keeping these things just in my head. [I think, she's figuring out the depths and structure of this very floor. The stairs can be found normally around some corner of the dungeon floor but…] [Yeah, yeah.] [This floor is probably designed to wear us out with futility and boredom. In what part of this situation you think is the most futile?] Let's give her a hint for now that will make it easier to understand. Eve has better insights than me after all. Perhaps these words alone are enough for her to figure it out. And as I expected, Even she's keeping on running while thinking, she basically got the idea. Her eye widens as she looks at my direction and shares her thoughts. […It's lookin' for the stairs going down the pyramid, isn't it!] [Correct. Well, that's just what I thought too.] Yep, it's the mark as to to how we will leave the pyramid. But what if after we spend all of our strength and effort exploring this humongous place just for us to end up back at the underground entrance. The thought alone is just making me feel too exhausted, then how much more if it actually happened. That's why Sybilla first negated and crush that possibility. I can explain and tell what her plan is at this point but it it's not something I can cook up myself. This goddess is really worked up on settling her battle of the wits against that demon lord I bet. [Sybilla is definitely looking for the stairs under this very ground.] [Gotcha! Sybilla-nee-san ain't really just a beauty but a cool and smart lass too, how reassuring!] Eve's expressing how she admires Sybilla with a big smile on her face as we can now finally see the two of them who ran ahead of us. We can see from our distance that Emmy is looking at Sybilla full of happiness. Sybilla's running with her while intimately patting her head. As I thought for how long will we be running incircles tighter and tighter within these walls, Sybilla suddenly stops and turns around as she scans and moves about the area. I wonder how many times we'll keep on repeating the same thing. Even though we're not experiencing fatigue due to my magic, we are running back and forth from the entrance to the whole of the pyramid without stopping. This extensive floor is just sapping all of our drive. I don't even know how many times I casted my recovery magic already. [….Fufufu!] Sybilla's slighlty angry laughter has resounded again. Before I ask her what's up, Emmy's voice raises a notch as she shouts [Aaah!!]. [What happened?] [Finally!] There is is a dim hole in the direction where Emmy is pointing and a glimpse of stairs can be seen. We've finally found it! [What a damned floor that has no hints, not even anything on the walls, just a damn pyramid! Anyone who can't map on their heads like me and tell where they exactly went through will just bite the dust in this place!] …You've said it. This dungeon is really the worst…! The distance between this set of stairs and the wall is pretty far, you know… I even thought that maybe there's not even a stair to begin with. I can't even imagine trying to explore this dungeon alone… …This dungeon is just that scary and tedious, however, it is Sybilla's wits and senses that stripped it all. She really went and marked every step without leaving any ground left unscathed just to find these stairs. Be it an elaborative nor a monotonous yet tedious trap, everything will just be useless in front of Sybilla. [Russell, Emmy-chan, Defensive magic!] And as Sybilla instructed, Emmy and I start to cast our magic. I shouldn't neglect as well adding again to everyone in case we're faced with a preemptive strike. [It was pretty tiring yet boring, and I believe you all agree with me here.] We, who haven't met any other monster to relieve our building up frustrations, nod in unison. [Emmy-chan, you take the front. We're going down. I'm sure what's waiting ahead will be as annoying as this but we will definitely win over it!] With everything being said and done, we now descend further below from the ground. On to the third floor. What waits for us as we descend from the stairs is… Him. The very existence that I've been longing to kill after all these times. […For these bunch of dusk filths, to really actually dare to step in the bottom levels so fast…!] [Isn't it just because I'm naturally superior than you, no?~~ This "cheap" and nothing with "filt" dungeon is such a bummer!] [Yo-you… !! This dusskkkk, this filthy woman who despite being a goddess can't help but be surrounded by just riffraff thugs really dares! Too unsophisticated! Rude! Too vulgar! This shall not be forgiven!] The Demon Lord raises both of his arms to the left and right where monsters appear from the ground each in those directions. The monsters with colossal bodies and huge horns are seemingly similar to a dragon but… To me who's been itching for action after all the boring running from the floor earlier, I can't really see these monsters anything else but stress relievers. The sword in my hand trembles in excitement as it can finally have its turn any moment by now. I believe Sybilla's been showcasing all of her abilities to us this whole time. I feel kind of proud seeing how awesome my reliable partner is but… I can't just let her steal all the spotlight on her own. Perhaps it would be fine if I could steal the show at the last minute for my self? The moment of truth against this demon lord. Well then… It's time to settle your debts for all of the stress and anger you've made us built. I'll return them all. Including the interest.
