Chapter 15- Handicap

"Now, in English, when you join two complete sentences together with nothing but a comma, it's called… what? What is it called? Anyone?"

[What a pain. This is so boring.]

"Does anyone know? Anyone at all?" With the bell, English class finally ends, and with it, the obvious Ferris Bueller reference. English is replaced with lunch, and then hero class.

"Who do you think will be our teacher today?"

"Aizawa should be fine, right? Saiki did save him."

"Yeah, but he was unconscious. I bet he broke a few bones."

"We still have Saiki Sensei…"

<Don't call him Sensei, he doesn't deserve that title.>

'Well, what else are we going to call him? There's two Saiki's, it's kind of annoying...'

"Hey! Rude." Father walks into the classroom, a deep frown on his face. "You're so mean." He pouts at me, knowing full well that I'm right but still upset about it. Behind him stumbles Aizawa, who's covered from head to toe in bandages.

"Aizawa? Why are you here?"

"Weren't you badly injured?"

"You should be healing!"

"Guys, stop talking! Class started!"

"Thank you, Hairo," Dad mutters, slouched, still upset about his son, and the majority of his students, for that matter, not respecting him. Aizawa clears his throat, stepping in front of Kuniharu.

"Today we must discuss your next fight."

"Next fight?"

"Not more villains!"

"DARK REUNION WILL KILL US ALL!"

Aizawa rolls his eyes behind the bandages, waiting for the class to calm down.

"The sports festival is coming up soon." Aizawa drones, fighting off a yawn.

'I can't teach with Recovery Girl's quirk at work. How annoying.'

"Oh, right!"

"I keep forgetting this is actually a school!"

"I'm so pumped!" Hairo states, jumping in his seat excitedly. Aizawa fights off another yawn, his eyes dry with fatigue.

"You explain the rest." Aizawa gestures to father as he wanders out of the room, most likely to find a private place to sleep.

"Uhh… okay. So, yeah. The Sports Festival is soon. It's an important event that I hope you all do your best in. Especially you, Ku."

"Aww, your parents call you Ku? How adorable!"

"Can I call you Ku?"

"How KUte!"

<I hate you.>

"Anyway, do your best, it's a huge opportunity for all of you."

"Right!"

"Saiki, hey!" I roll my eyes as Midoriya runs up to me, waving for me to wait up.

"All Might wants to talk with you."

'I wonder what it's about. All Might seemed kind of nervous.'

[What a pain.]

<Okay. Thanks.>

"S-sure!" I can feel Midoriya's eyes on me as I walk toward where he came from, following All Might's thoughts to find my way.

'How is he so powerful? Is he somehow related to… no, impossible. But, with the number of quirks he possesses, it's like he's from a different world completely.'

I open the door to the lounge, stepping in. All Might quickly shoots up, changing into his muscle form out of habit.

'I'll have to make this fast, I don't have much time in this form.'

<No need to hide from me.>

"What?"

<I know your secret, you can deflate.>

"Oh. Right." All Might coughs, spewing blood everywhere.

[How unsanitary.]

<What did you want?>

"Oh, right!" All Might sits back down, patting the spot beside him, meaning for me to sit as well. I stare at him blankly, not moving from the doorway. All Might awkwardly clears his throat, pouring himself some tea. "I wanted to give you a challenge." He sips his tea, realizing too late that it's much too hot, but he refuses to spit it out, so he mans up and forces it down, resulting in a burnt esophagus. "I want you to try to avoid your more… useful quirks."

<Why would I do that?>

"Just to see how good you really are. It's more for the teachers than anything. Plus, it'll get heroes to notice you more. Basically, don't teleport in races, or anything like that."

[Sounds like it's for plot convenience more than anything.]

<Yeah, okay.>

"Wait, really?"

'I didn't expect him to be so agreeable.'

<There's no sense arguing. It'll be just as easy with my other quirks.>

"Well, either way, good luck. You'll be the only student handicapped."

<No amount of a handicap will make me weaker than the people I'm against.>

'What an arrogant kid.'

<Arrogance is having an exaggerated sense of one's abilities. I am not arrogant, as I have a perfect understanding of how strong I am.>

"I keep forgetting you can read minds." All Might mumbles, grimacing in embarrassment.

<And, by the way, I'm in no way related to him.>

'Huh?'

"I-I never said you were."

<But you thought it. My quirk has many aspects, yes, but those aspects were always my own. I didn't steal any of them.>

"Wait, how do you even know who he is?"

<You think about him enough, I have a pretty good idea of his character.>

"Right." All Might hesitates, gesturing once more to the seat across from him. "Will you please sit?" I pause, realizing there's no reason for me to not. I walk over to the chair, taking a seat and apporting my money for some coffee jelly. All Might jumps slightly in surprise, but shakes it off rather quickly.

<Well?>

"Have you... heard anything? From him? Any... deep, malicious thoughts?"

<Nothing that stands out to me. Just the usual busy street thoughts.>

"I know he's in hiding... but this "League of Villains" nonsense must be his doing."

<Tomura Shigaraki doesn't seem like he's much of a leader.> All Might nods, slouching clightly as he thinks.

"There must be someone orchestrating all of this.... Will you keep an ear er... mind open?"

<It's not like I can turn it off.>

"Really?"

'Must be tough.'

<It's annoying, to say the least. But yeah, I'll see if I hear anything about him.>

"Thanks," All Might sighs, as if a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. "And come straight to me if you find anything. Don't do anything stupid."

<Yeah, yeah.>
