Tyche's Ring

'Backed by mercenaries, huh?' Leroy couldn't help but smile, one would need more than merely mercenaries in order to go against such a person.

Currently, his uncle Pat was on his way to obtain a kind of merchant class. Once he was over with it, they would try obtain some land at Star-Moon City, it currently had a population of over four million players, if they managed to be the first players to set up a shop the profits they would make would be huge.

The amount of coins they make was comparable to that of first-rate guilds, yet their number of players were much lower, this mean that the expenditure was also much lower, in turn their raw profits were great too. More and more corporations started investing in God's Domain and the player base was steadily growing.

All they needed now, was some plots of land in Star-Moon City best areas. Other guilds were also under heavy pressure to acquire those lands, yet they couldn't afford to make such an investment yet.

Once they set up a shop, they would start hiring more and more lifestyle players, knowing his uncle, it wouldn't be surprising to hire more thousands of them so long they reached a certain standard.

Leroy focused on the task at hand, according to the information, the daughter of a Grand Duke fell ill, and required a large amount of Herbs. These quest not only did give Exp, but according to their guesses, if he managed to cure the Grand Duke's daughter, he would definetly receive lots of reputation poins, even the chance to become a noble straigth away.

He contacted members of the guild's logistics and filled his inventory with all kind of herbs.

Grand Duke Heartfield's mansion was close to the Palace. After entering the mansion, a Level 150 steward leaded him to the duke.

Heartfield was a Level 200 NPC, he soon started telling Leroy the problem he had with his daughter. He then gave him a Special Quest to acquire Herbs.

"I just so happen to have herbs with me" Leroy said while taking stacks of herbs until a small mountain stood besides him.

Each stack gave him 20 Copper and 2,000 Exp. It definetly wasn't worth the trade, still, he continue to give more and more stacks. With his guild financial power and backing, these lose was nothing.

After some point, he gained a Level, he gained 3,000,000 experience points through the exchange. It was a really fast way to level up, yet suddenly the exchange stopped giving him experience and instead it gave a 'Thank you gift'. Turning in ordinary herbs gave him one gift, while the rare ones gave ten.

He walked out from the duke's mansion and met the logistic team members at a more secluded location, once again, he returned with his inventory full of herbs.

For some time now, he kept on giving Heartfield herb stacks until it almost seemed a subconscious task. After some time a notification sounded.

System: Grand Duke Harfield's Favorability increased by 30 points

'Finally, some change in the quest?' Leroy came back to his senses, there was more than 125,000 'Thank You Gift' items in his inventory now.

"Young Adventurer, thank you for your enthusiastic contributions. With this many herbs, I can extract a sufficient amount of herbal essence to cure my daughter. To show my gratitude, you may use those Thank You Gifts to trade for the treasures I usually store inside my treasury." The Grand Duke said happily.

"Just taking a look at your Highness treasury would be the fortune of a lifetime" Leroy said, this was the treasure of the third most important npc in the kingdom, it was obviously something great!.

"Steward, take this adventurer to have a look" Heartfield said.

"Yes, your Highness" The steward inmediatly leade Leroy to the treasury.

As you would expect of the treasury of a Grand Duke, it was heavily guarded with npcs over level 200.

The place had many treasures at display everywhere. "This is the list of items here, you can exchange your Gifts for any item inside" The steward passed a list of item to him.

There weren't a lot of items on the list, tough. A lot of items were weapons and equipment close to his Level, their prices were not cheap and their ranks were no higher than fine-gold rank. Just a silver rank item costed about 3 gold considering the amount of herbs necessary to get 1,000 Gifts necessary to the exchange.

He noticed an item that called his attention. It was a treasure chest, according to the item descriptions, the Twilight Treasure Chest could give from one copper coin to Fragmented-Legendary items, it was all depending on luck.

'Hehehe, luck ah?' Leroy revealed an ugly smile and started laughing in a low voice which earned strange gazes from the guards.

Each treasure chest required 100 'Thank You Gifts' to exchange for them.

Yet, before exchanging for this item. He wanted to see what the Gifts themselves could give.

He had +30 Luck points, and using Tyche's Path would increase it to 60 points. It was known that luck could increase drops from monsters as well as items from treasures and anything that relied on randomness to some extent.

He started opening the gifts.

Obtained: Reputation Book

Obtained: Reputation Book

Obtained: Reputation Book

Checking the items he got from opening the gifts, out of ten gifts opened, nine were Reputation Books, while one were Mastery Books.

Reputation Books increased a player reputation by 1 point if the player reputation was below 100 with 100% chance.

The more the reputation the player possesed, the lower the chance.

On the other hand the Mastery Books would give Mastery Points, which would increase the damage dealt with weapons, the higher the Mastery, the higher the damage. Leroy had no use for such a mastery books and couldn't trade them, he could only try to destroy them later.

Six hours passed, he had already opened 3,500 gifts and received 3,000 Reputation Books along with 500 Mastery books.

He then started using the reputation books. He needed 500 reputation points to become a Baron. He used less than a dozen and his reputation grew to 100.

It was when his reputation reached more than 400 reputation points that he started failing to get reputation points, out of ten books only six would give reputation points, so he activated Tyche's Path.

System: Congratulations on becoming a Viscount of Star-Moon City

Finally, he managed to become a major noble of Star-Moon City, his used all his books and his reputation ended at 1,620 points, halfway to become a Count.

This was a godly rate of increasing his reputation with the city.

I can't miss these chance. He continued to open Gifts and using the Reputation Books until it finally hit 3,000 points.

System: Congratulations on becoming a Count of Star-Moon City!

You can now employ 100 guards, including four Personal Guards. You also get to enojoy 20% discount on all expenditures in Star-Moon City

He had 105,000 Gifts after becoming a Count, which he just exchanged them all for 1,050 Twilight Treasure Chests.

'They are the only item worth my time for the exchange, hopefully it won't dissapoint me'

He activated Tyche's Path and started opening one chest after the other.

As the chest opened, brilliant light came out of it without losing his increased luck time, he picked up the item.

Acquired: Ying-Yang Walker's Helmet

He inmediatly opened another chest and looked over at the item he aquired at the same t.

Seeing this item, Leroy was shocked, such a thing even existed? These attributes were just too high, and the set bonuses too, the basic attributes of the set were also good. If a Guardian Knight were to equip this set he would definetly become the number one tank in the entire kingdom.

As one more chest opened...

Obtained: Light Stone Forging Design.

Another interesting item appeared, puting it in his bag, he continued to open more chests... some chests gave him silver coins while some gave him even more than 10 Gold Coins.

Obtained: Light Stone Forging Design.

Obtained: Ying-Yang Walker Plate Boots.

Obtained: Ying-Yang Walker Leather Boots.

Obtained: Light Stone Forging Design.

He oppened more than 710 chests, and obtained four sets of the Tier 1 Set of Equipment, one for Guardian Knight, two for Assassins and one for Ranger. He also acquired about 90 Light Stone Forging Design and even some Dark-Gold Equipment.

The Light Stone were very usefull items that could be used to illuminate an area as if it was daytime, it was easy and cheap to craft and would definetly sell well on the market.

It was a shame, tough, he could not use a single part of the Tier 1 Set of Equipment and neither the dark-gold helmet.

Once again using Tyche's Path, he kept unlocking chests.

Obtained: Dark Summoner Pants

Seeing the item he acquired, Leroy felt like jumping around, an epic item, it was an epic rank item, and furthermore it was actually suitable for him!.

With more than 200 chests waiting for him, he continued....

Obtained: Light Stone Forging Design

Obtained: Ying-Yang Boots

'Nice, an elementalist set is completed' Leroy kept opening.

Obtained: Fledge's Axe

Seeing the item, Leroys eyes were wide once again 'Great! an epic ranked axe'.

The treasury guards looked at him with some envy, they were also geared with epic rank items, yet they were valuable, if they managed to obtain one, especially a weapon, it could easily sell for more than 3,000 Gold Coins.

Obtained: 5 Gold Coins.

Obtained: 98 Silver Coins.

Obtained: ....

As he opened another chest, a heavy yellow aura spread everywhere in the treasury room. for an instant before he inmediatly picked the item inside.

Obtained: Tyche's Ring

'Tyche..' Leroy mutered as he identified the item.

Tyche's Ring (Fragmented-Legendary Rank)

All attributes +50

Luck +30

Active Skill: Goddess Fortune

Increase luck attribute by 60 for 10 minutes. Cooldown: 20 minutes

Active Skill: Tyche's Destiny

Increase luck attribute by 50% for 10 minutes. Cooldown: 20 minutes

Passive skill: When crafting, chance of producing item of higher rank +5%

Passive Skill: If used along Tyche's Necklace: Luck +40%

Leroy's head went spinning and took some time to digest this. If he were to equip this ring... wouldn't he have... 84 base Luck Points? if he were to use all the item's skills... that would be.. 360 points of Luck. He probably only obtained it thanks to wearing Tyche's Necklace.

He didn't dare to imagine what 360 points of Luck would mean anymore, but he inmediatly equiped the ring, replacing the Ring of Summons and looked at the last treasure chest.

He activated all his ring and necklace skills, his luck stat soared and even a dense aura of fortune spread out of him.

He opened the chest and a heavy pressure along an aura of treasure came from the item inside the chest, he inmediatly took it into his inventory

Grand Duke Heartfield arrived soon after and looked at everyone before his gaze fell on Leroy. He could feel his strange aura and after a time of pondering he said:

"This is... the power of fortune?"

"I've always been quite lucky" Leroy said with a smile. As he had opened all the treasure chests, it was time to go.
