Sacrifice Support

Waking up stranded on an island filled with mythical creatures was one of the many things Xavier Thomas never would have saw coming. Though he dreamed of transmigrating, never in a million years would he have thought it to be possible. Yet here he was, lost in an unfamiliar world, vastly unprepared for the trials he may face. Or at least that would have been the case if he had made it off the beach. You see, Xavier was happy before his transmigration. He had money, women, prestige. There was nothing he lacked, and unlike those welps who whined about money not equating to happiness, he reveled in his wealth like a nouveau riche. He was on top of the world, and like a light being switched off, he was snatched away from his happiness. His life was thrown into darkness. So what did he do when he woke up and saw giant lizards bathing in the sun, two moons fully visible in the midday sky, and trees the size of skyscrapers in the far distance? I’m sure you can guess, right? Unfortunately for Xavier, death didn’t free him of his fate. In fact, it reinforced it. ‘’Hello! Welcome to the Inter-dimensional Revitalization Association. My name is KYS-N008 and I’ll be your boss for the duration of your employment.’’ ‘’F***!’’ And so starts the very, very unfortunate life of one Xavier Thomas. God of Martyrs ——————————————————————————— This is a pilot. Just think of it like a oneshot.

Chapter 1: You’re a natural, baby!

Xavier was in a bad mood. You see, not only had he been kidnapped by some multi-dimensional space association, he has been conscripted into working for them.

Now you may be thinking, 'But this seems like an opportunity of a lifetime. Think of all the possibilities.' Yes yes yes, he definitely saw those opportunities now, but as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Remember that evaluation? The one he so boldly didn't give a flying-ahem! The one he didn't care much for? Well, you get the gist of it. All he could think about now was how stupid he was back then.

After assimilating the information that the woman implanted into him, Xavier could definitely agree that he was an interesting boy. Why boy? Well of course it's because no man would fumble the bag as spectacularly as he did.

You see, when transported to that island he had become a candidate for the Isekai Department. All he had to do was face the trials in front of him head-on like a 'protagonist'. Instead, he jumped into the ocean and killed himself in a fit of mania. Which apparently wasn't fitting of an Isekai protagonist.

He did however gain the attention of another department. One he didn't find appealing in the slightest. The Sacrificial Support Department(SSD). In other words, the department of martyrs.

Unlike in the Isekai Department, where one agent holds domain over that one world and can reach the level of a mythical creature depending on the laws of that plane. The SSD prefers the method of quick transmigration. Quick in and out procedures lasting between a few months to a few decades.

Now, do you see the error of his ways? Instead of following in the footsteps of his fellow transmigrators, he decided to be a little bi-ahem! punk. He decided to be a little punk and kill himself. Resulting in his current circumstances.

"What's got your panties in a bunch, boy? Sad you fumbled one of the best gigs in the omniverse?"

Xavier sulked even harder.

"Ha! Don't worry about it. Although you'll never be a protagonist, at least you still get to be a hero. Besides, all of those protagonists live miserable lives anyway. There trouble magnets."

KYS didn't elaborate but Xavier knew what he meant. That still didn't improve his mood.

"Trouble magnets or not, being a protagonist seems like a sweet enough deal to me. Amassing a harem of otherworldly beauties, using powerful abilities capable of killing gods, building an empire, and ruling with an iron fist."

The more he thought about it the more depressed he became. KYS floated near his head and spoke in a soft tone.

"You forgot about the pitiful childhood, countless enemies praying for your downfall, never-ending betrayals, villains always kidnapping your loved ones. Every time a protagonist is dropped into a new world their mind is reset. Meaning every time a transmigrator enters a new plane it's as if they went to sleep in their original homes and woke up in a foreign land. Let's face the facts here Xavier, you are not protagonist material. If we mind-wiped you and threw you into another world, you would end your life every time. The moment you chose to kill yourself instead of facing the challenge ahead of you, you sealed your fate. You chose your own path and although it might seem like something a protagonist would do those aren't the type of protagonist were looking for. As Hypocritical as it may seem."

Xavier sighed and didn't say anything.

"Alright, enough chitchat. It's time for you to experience your first mission. The moment you enter a foreign universe I'll send the world's information. Unlike a protagonist, you get to keep your name and likeness throughout your missions. Although there will be slight variations throughout certain mission worlds."

"Wait! This body or my old one?"

"Your current body is a product of the association. It has been upgraded to adapt to any and all worlds you come across. You can use your original body if you want to but don't be surprised if you appear on a planet with 10x gravity and die immediately."

Xavier gulped. Point made. "Yeah, no. I'm definitely ok with this body." KYS seemed to be nodding. How? Xavier wasn't sure.

"Good. Now, there are certain advantages you have access to as a part of the SSD. One of those advantages is a care package you can redeem every mission. This care package will have items and skills relevant to the task you will be assigned in each mission world. Sadly you do not get to keep them once you leave the world. Though it would be much easier for you to learn them again during your time in the hub world."

Xavier just nodded his head. This didn't seem so bad in his mind. He was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

"Speaking of the hub world, between missions you can stay an indefinite amount of time there as long as you can afford it. I'll explain more about it after you complete your first mission. Each mission has a base amount you will be paid whether you fail or finish the task successfully. If you finish the task successfully you will be paid four times the original amount. Don't think of taking high-level missions only to purposely fail as each failure leaves a mark on your record. Lowering the number of good-paying missions you can receive. Enough failed missions and you'll be blacklisted from accepting missions and be demoted to some backwater department."

Xavier gaped. "I thought this was some backwater department."

KYS began zooming around chuckling madly. Quite a comical sight to behold.

"Oh, man! Oh goodness, you're a riot." A few more chuckles escaped the floating ball of light. "No boy, we are not a backwater department. The SSD is the second most sought-after department besides the Truck Driving department. Though the Isekai department pays the highest, even those with only a few years of experience know how shitty a hand those guys get. Especially since no one keeps the powers they attain in mission worlds. Not only that…they're all chunni nerds who think as long as they get strong enough they can take over the association and become omniversal existences."

Xavier scoffed. "You sure you're not just spitting propaganda at me?"

KYS snorted. "It doesn't matter; you'll find out eventually. Now on to your first mission."

Before Xavier had any time to respond he felt something pulling at his navel and was sucked into oblivion. LITERALLY.

———

Xavier awoke with a shudder. Before he could do so much as observe his surroundings he felt a sharp pain in his head followed by a rush of information. 'Ow! What the f***'

"Do not be alarmed, the plot of this world is being transferred to you. I do apologize for my lack of finesse. No one can transfer information quite like those in the Isekai department."

Xavier scoffed and closed his eyes reviewing the world's plot. This was a sci-fi world hydro dipped in blood. Humans, after a hundred years of war, attained world peace. Every race under the sun now stood under one flag. The flag of the Human Empire. Society flourished and humanity grew more and more advanced as time went on. Soon Earth was too small to contain the ever-growing population of the Human Empire. So they set off to the stars.

The Human Empire grew more powerful and advanced with each planet they colonized; harnessing the power of stars and mastering warp technology. Yet on the outskirts of the milky way galaxy, a terrifying threat analyzed their civilization.

This threat was known as the Kurr. A militaristic alien civilization, hell-bent on conquering any and all intelligent life. The Kurr mercilessly attacked the Human Empire, Slaughtering billions of Humans. All seemed lost for the Human Empire as colony after colony was being seized by Kurr forces. That was until the Ares arrived.

An ancient nomadic civilization that traveled the vast expanse of space looking for intelligent life to foster and advance. The Ares had visited Earth before and knew of Humans and their tenacity. Thus when news of humanity's near demise at the hands of the Kurr reached them. They had to intervene, mainly due to the Kurr being their mortal enemy.

The Ares joined the fight against the Kurr; bringing with them technology leagues above what Humanity had displayed. They fought countless battles, slaughtering Kurr across the entire galaxy. The battle lasted nearly a thousand years only ending when the Empress of the Kurr was mortally wounded. The Kurr had pulled back most of their forces. For three hundred years there was peace in the universe.

The protagonist of this world was a Human girl named Theya Royce. After being beaten to near-death by some of her classmates an old woman found her and helped her out. When she woke up the old woman gave her an earring and told her with it she could change her fate. The old woman then disappeared.

Theya was skeptical at first but after wearing the earring she gained a system. After gaining the system, Theya went on the ultimate face slapping journey. Beating young mistresses to a pulp, thwarting assassination attempts, getting kicked out of the academy blah blah blah.

Where did he fit into this you ask? Why of course he's the childhood friend turned love interest who was kidnapped then sacrificed their life to save the protagonist of course.

"What the hell! This is literally just some stupid Chinese interstellar Novel with all the gender roles reversed!" Xavier cursed.

KYS hummed to himself, completely ignoring Xavier's rant. "Mhm. Open your interface. I've sent your care package to you while you were whining."

Xavier rolled his eyes and sighed. 'I can already tell your gonna be loads of help. And how do I do that genius.'

"Think about it." He said

'I want to hit you so bad it hurts.' Xavier grit his teeth. 'Interface!'

A screen pooped in front of his face, startling him. 'Woah! This is actually sick. Reminds me of the gamer.'

"Ahem!" KYS interrupted his thought with a light cough. "We do not speak of such things in the association. And a heads up, the Protagonist of this world is a naturally formed one. You'll rarely come across an Isekai implant during your time in the SSD. It was nice meeting you but I have business to attend to, see ya when I see ya."

With that, he left via poof. How does he do that anyway?

'Wait a minute what the f***! Aren't you my system?'

A poof and he was back.

"Oh heavens no. I'm just your boss."

Xavier looked sick. 'Oh, God.'
