chapter 50

[December 26, 1917]

It's the last word you hear as the little arms drag you into the ground. Yes,

Your feet quickly slide into the ground as if it was made merely of liquid, but everything seems to happen in slow motion.

Slowly, slowly, you sink downwards and downwards, and you half expect people in the room under you to scream in surprise, but it never comes. Soon, your head is engulfed as wellYou never emerge through to the second floor, though, and all you can see is black.

Suddenly, you feel a pulling movement and without warning, you are, or felt like you are compressed, squeezed in from all sides. It is like being squeezed through a huge, rubber, air-tight tube. You can't breathe, see, or move at all.

And shortly after, everything fades away, and the darkness edges away to reveal a cave.

The cave is dripping and wet, the ceiling so high you couldn't see it. It's dark, the only source of light from the few torches that were lit.

All the way at the other end of the cave like room, you see a rectangular frame with a bright purple plasma-like film in between. There are small purple particles floating out and around the dark frame.

You immediately try to move, but you realize your arms and legs are frozen to the spot, while you can still move your head.

You look around, feeling the familiarity of the cave, and you suddenly realize: this is the cave that had collapsed and the one where you and Al were almost kidnapped. The one where you were almost pulled into that portal with Al.

"Aaaaahhhhh!" Someone yells, and you jump, not really expecting the sound.

A loud and suddenly, Ed emerges from the ground, shaking. He looks around frantically, trying to deduce his location.

When he sees you, relief fills his face and he seems to attempt to get out of his locking constraints but fail.

"(Y/N)! Are you okay? Where are we? Why are we here?"

You just nod. There's nothing to say. You flash him a warning look with your eyes, telling him to shut up. Suddenly, on your other side, your right, Al fades into the scene. He looks around, familiarity dawning on his face.

When he spots you and Ed, he avoids your gaze and acknowledges his brother with a nod of his head.

You scowl. Is he really still trying to avoid you? In situation?

"Well. Well. Well. Look who's here."

A man emerges from the shadows. He's extremely tall, with wolf-like features. His beard and hair is mangy, and his back posture is painfully unhealthy hunching forward and made him look like he needed a cane. Despite that, he walks with surprising agility and glares hungrily at the three of you, bound to the ground by some unknown alchemic force. The man is an odd sight, but what really catches your eyes are his hands.

His hands have menacing, glinting nails sharpened to perfection. His skinny fingers flex, and you watch as he cracks a few of his knuckles. The nails are almost shining.

The scars on your face begins to prickle in pain as you remember the time where you were injured.

The man watches the three of you silently, and suddenly begins to laugh, evilly.

The invisible chains around your legs loosen, and you take the chance to quickly jump away.

Suddenly, an ear-splitting scream echoes through the hall. You flinch a bit and look around.

"No, NO! Don't! don't TOUCH ME! OR HER! NO STOP!"

You recognize the voice as the girl's voice, but only barely register the fact. What catches your attention is the fact the she's screaming and yelling odd sentences.

The man with the sharp nails starts laughing maniacally. You plunge your hand into your pocket and find your trustworthy knife. Without waiting, you cut deep into your already scarred hand and release some blood.

Using this, you transfer your arm into a sword. The sharpest one you could make.

"It's finally time..." a deep voice rumbles through the cave, the vibrations reverberating under your feet. You shiver.

"GET HER!" Someone yells, and you hear the sound of running and yelling and screaming.

You look around, bewildered and confused over what's happening.

"It's all your fault, (S/Name) (you'll find out soon enough ;)). YOU MUST PAY FOR YOUR SINS."

You hear a yelp and run towards the sound, brandishing your arm-sword and ignoring the yells of Ed and Al.

You hear a sword being drawn and a scream. And suddenly the scream is gone. It stopped. You brake yourself and stop running in shock.

Wait....

What!?

Suddenly, the portal starts rumbling. It creates a loud sound, extremely loud.

Your head whips there. Little arms shoot out of it, all towards you and Al and Ed. You stagger backwards, but it's no use. The strong black ribbons wrap tightly around your body, tight enough to stop circulation, and drags you towards the portal.

"NOOOO!! STOOOOOP!"

I'm. So. Tired.....
