When the Quinjet landed on the harricarrier, they were welcomed by SHIELD agents who immediately put Loki in handcuffs, looking at Thor chatting with Peter hesitantly before they were calmed down by Captain America with a nod. Fury watched the God of mischief be lead to his cell with a stink eye.
"Hope you get comfortable, you'll be here for sometime," he jeered at him but Loki gave him a mocking smirk. Fury was unnerved by that smile but then the team got out of the Quinjet.
"I don't think it is a good idea to put Loki and this staff at the same location," Peter said, making Fury look at him with surprise.
"Why's that?" he asked with a frown.
"Loki has magic and from what Thor over here has told us, very adept at using it. He is far lived and a trickster at heart. Most of us haven't even clocked in their fifties and that's a fraction of the years he has lived. I wouldn't be surprised if he has something in his sleeves that led us to apprehend him," Peter answered. Fury looked at him with a slight raise of his eye brows.
"Peter Scarletta, right? I would hope I would take with you and you can explain to how you became an enhanced," Fury said.
"Hit by lightning. How did you lose your eye?" Peter fired back. Fury had a distant look in his eye for a moment before he glared back at Peter.
"I'm sorry if I don't take your word for it. The last enhanced we let out of our sights ended up destroying Harlem New York. I would like it if you came with us for some questioning," Fury said, signalling some agents to take him away. Peter just smiled, ready to comply when Ironman came in front of him.
"I would suggest you take back your Stooges, Fury. This man can bring down this whole aircraft down without any hesitation. You have to know which battles to fight and which to just let go. He's on our side, don't make him jump boat," Tony warned Fury. The Director looked at the others and saw they were ready to defend him, even Natasha!
"I think I know someone working with you. He is the son of Coul. He can tell you my word is gold and I vouch for my fellow warrior," Thor said, slapping Peter's back gently but that slap almost made him fly away! Fury glared at Thor.
"I remember you. Your fight with that robot thing almost destroyed a town! Your words don't mean shit!" Fury hissed at the battle miniac who scratched his head in embarrassment.
"Sorry, my brother was over the top then," he apologized. Fury sighed even more, knowing his plan to interrogate Peter went up in smokes.
"Alright, let's get in, the winds out here are bitter," Fury said and led them inside.
Peter knew Fury wanted to know how he became an enhanced. Enhanced are beings who had been through some unnatural phenomenon that made them have some sort of powers. Bruce, Steve, Blonsky and Absorption Man, Bruce's father, can be termed as enhanced. With the powers he showed, Fury would die to know how to get them.
Unlike other reincarnators he had read about, he wasn't going to grudge Fury for doing his job. It's as if they expect the man to just change his ways because they are there in the world! That's hypocritical knowing that if they didn't have the knowledge they would be worse than him! He knew there was a reason why Fury was the Director of a spy organization and that's because he was soft. He had the balls to do what needed to be done and be good at it. Some may argue that he didn't know Hydra had infiltrated SHIELD. Then again, neither did Peggy Carter and she was known to be the best spy in the business and the founder of SHIELD.
They got inside the Harricarrier and Peter was blown away. He was the only one impressed by what he was seeing. Natasha and Steve had already seen the place, Tony was used of being surrounded by impressive technology and Thor, the bastard, had a look of boredom. Well, Asgard was very advanced in technology in spite of using cold weapons to fight. All the way to the control centre, Peter was ogling at everything, even when Fury and the others started talking of what to do to Loki. He had already seen the scene before so he didn't bother. Tony and Banner went to look for the tesseract while Tony had another agenda, Steve went for a walk and would stable on the weapons then confront Fury about them. Thor on the other hand had dragged him out of the Harricarrier.
"You want us to fight again with no one to be in between us?" Peter asked in exasperation.
"Yes! Our fight was not finished, thanks to Steve Rogers getting in between us!" Thor laughed, Mjolnir already starting to produce lightning.
"Sorry, but the transformation is on a cool down for now," Peter lied, hoping this man child was gullible.
"Nonsense, a warrior should be ready to get past his limit and this is your time to get past yours!" Thor laughed before spinning Mjolnir and taking to the sky. "Bring out your warrior side or perish pathetically!" As soon as he said that, Thor was shot out of the sky by a Quinjet. Peter was too surprised to even react to that scene. When he saw the Quinjet turn to him, he immediately remembered Barton had staged a jailbreak using a Quinjet.
"Shazam!" he screamt. The Quinjet fired at him then but bullets are not faster than magic lightning and whoever said they were was a liar! The golden lightning hit him and in a microsecond, he was Shazam. The bullets of the high callibre mini gun ricocheted off his skin and armor like they were made of rubber.
"That was close!" Shazam said to himself, wiping his non existent sweat. He stretched out his left hand and a Warhammer appeared in it. He threw it at the Quinjet, after confirming the pilot was not Barton. People give the guy a lot of shit because he's the arrow guy but they forget Barton is the most dangerous human in the Avengers! His arrows are not dull and his combat training is not child's play. His tendencies to not miss shots makes him even more dangerous than Black Widow! That's why the Avengers need him, also, he didn't want to get on the bad side of Natasha. Like any other Marvel fan, he was hoping to get a date off of her.
As the Quinjet was falling, Shazam heard an explosion then the Harricarrier started tipping to one side. He knew Barton was in another sector sabotaging the flying machine. Due to his interference, he didn't know how much had changed and he would rather make sure everything was fine. So, he flew to the underside of the Harricarrier, dug his fingers into it then started pushing it against the overwhelming gravity.
The Harricarrier itself was heavy! Add that to the thousands of gallons if fuel, water, waste, oil, the personnels, the Quinjets, weapons and ammunations including the missiles and the vehicles, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say he was carrying a mountain on his shoulders!
