RWBY: The Tale of a Middle Child with Silver Eyes

A man meets an unfortunate end and finds himself being reborn in a world he only thought to be a work of fiction. Not only that, but he’s thrown into a rather hectic family. A half sister a year older, a full blooded sister a year younger, and parents that are the equivalent of superheroes in this world. There’s also an alcoholic uncle that comes and goes as he pleases. In this new and strange world he was given a new name, Daemond Rose. He got more than just his mom’s last name, he also got her black hair with red highlights, her pale skin, and her silver eyes. Luckily, he did manage to get some of his father’s sharp facial features. Dying and being reborn can bring a bit of trauma, and suddenly losing a loving mother doesn’t help either. Not to mention the stress of living in a world where monsters can attack you or your family at any time. But not all is lost, for better or for worse he kept his previous life’s memories and can use his childhood to his advantage. He won’t waste time when an immortal psycho plans to destroy the world. If he wants to survive and protect those he cares about he has to train. But, he’s still a middle child. And that brings a lot of complications into his life considering he was previously an only child. Can he be a good Huntsman? Can he save the world? Can he defeat an immortal witch? Can he protect those he cares about? Can he even be a decent brother?’ —————— Not really great at the whole “Synopsis” thing. But I hope the main point went across. I don’t own anything related to RWBY or anything else. Nor do I own any photos I use or anything I may reference.

Ch. 5 Third Sister?

*Thump*

Daemond gets bumped into and the other person falls behind him. Looking over his shoulder he sees an angel.

Quite literally, her wings are a pristine white. The feathers aren't oily and look like they are taken care of with great meticulousness. The large wings are attached to a small girl with straight and silky light brown hair that likely reaches her knees when she is standing up. Right now she is sitting on the with tears in her eyes.

The girl looks up at Daemond with tears in her eyes and she pushes herself away once in fear.

Daemond looks at the girls deep red eyes. They aren't red from her crying, that is her natural eye color. He sees the fear in her eyes as she shakes on the ground.

At first he thinks that he hurt her or something, but when the girl looks over her shoulder briefly he understands. When Daemond follows her gaze he sees a real piece of work smirking in his direction.

One of the most hated characters in the show is standing across the room with his arms crossed over his chest as he stands confidently and satisfied. His short burnt orange hair that is combed backward with a slight peak at the front. His violet eyes might be looking in Daemond's direction but they're honed in on the girl like she's his prey. The smirk on his face is practically sinister and devilish, and not in the good way. This piece of work is Cardin Winchester.

Daemond kneels down to the girl and can't believe that she's planning on being a student here at Beacon. Ruby looks young but this girl looks significantly younger due to her height and delicate looking frame. However Daemond knows better than to assume a person isn't strong based on looks in this world.

The girl turns back to Daemond and flinches when he holds his hand out. She quickly shuts her eyes and turns away as she holds her hands up to block her face.

This sparks something deep within Daemond. This innocent looking girl flinched this much at just a hand being held out to her. He knows this could be an act, but even if it was he wouldn't just leave her like this.

"I'm not going to hurt you. Did that orange haired guy do something to you?" Daemond takes his hand back, his tone soft and compassionate. He was protective of his sisters, and this girl pulls at his heart's strings the same way.

The girl cautiously opens her eyes as tears stream down her slightly red cheeks. She looks into Daemond's silver eyes and weakly nods.

Not needing to hear a word from her Daemond stands up and glares over at Cardin. They lock eyes and Cardin raises an eyebrow challengingly.

When Cardin holds out his left hand and drops a handful of crushed feathers Daemond starts marching towards the prick with heavy steps. He usually tries to keep a level head but at this scene he couldn't reign in his emotions.

Just as he walks past the girl he feels something cling onto the back of his leg near his ankle.

The girl wrapped her arms around his self but he moved a little to quick and she barely managed to catch him. She tightly wrapped her arms around his leg, and even if Daemond could easily break free or drag her he wouldn't do that.

Daemond looks back at Cardin and he sees the prick saunter out of auditorium. Only the handful of crumpled feathers being any evidence left behind of what went down. What specifically happened? Daemond has a rough idea, but he wouldn't make the girl answer his questions.

Even as she clings to his leg the girl continues crying. And when Daemond kneels down she feels his warm hand gently on her head.

Daemond doesn't say anything and just pats the girl's head to try and calm her down even a little bit. This girl is clearly some type of bird Faunus and has experienced a great deal of discrimination, the likelihood that this is an act grows smaller the more Daemond thinks about it. He forgets about Cardin for now, he will have plenty of chances to use the prick as a punching bag later.

After a few minutes the girl's sobs die down. What few people that stayed in the auditorium had left. Daemond didn't notice the two girls who witnessed his actions. One with pink hair and the other with the black hair and white bow.

"I-I'm sorry…" The girl weakly says, her voice is more than a little shaky.

"Don't be" Daemond doesn't want to hear an apology.

The girl releases his leg and sits up as she wipes her face and her eyes. "But I-"

"Did nothing wrong. It's not like you held me here against my will" Daemond reassures her.

"I didn't mean to, I'm sor-" The girl sulks.

"You didn't" Daemond rests his arms on his leg. "My name is Daemond"

The girl looks up at this mysterious guy she bumped into when running away from Cardin. "S-Seraphina…"

Daemond gives her a warm smile. "That's a lovely name"

Seraphina lowers her head. "Thank you…"

"So, uhhh. Think you can stand?" Daemond would prefer to talk while they were on their feet, plus he felt bad that her wings were on the ground.

He offers his hand to the girl who takes it and he tries to help her stand up but she collapses back down to the ground and begins crying again, but this time it's different. It's like she was releasing something that was bottled up for a long time.

——————

It took a while for Seraphina to calm down, at some point she had clung to him in a tight hug. It reminded Daemond of Ruby when she was younger.

When Seraphina collected herself enough Daemond let her go, but she didn't move.

"What type of Faunus are you…?" The girl carefully questions. She didn't see any animal trait and it's risky to ask this to a Faunus as it could be taken offensively.

Daemond can only assume that she hasn't met a Human who was nice to her yet. "Damn heart strings…"

Seraphina couldn't hear what Daemond said but felt his chest move like he said something. "Hm?"

"I'm not a Faunus, I'm Human" Daemond says, expecting her to freak out. But what he didn't expect was for her arms to tighten around him.

"So mom was right…" Seraphina quietly says to herself.

Before Daemond could react Seraphina speaks up in a soft tone that is a little easier to hear. "Are you one of the good ones?"

Daemond scratches his cheek. How does someone answer that? "I try to be"

"I didn't… I didn't think there were any kind Humans left…" Seraphina pushes her forehead further into Daemond's chest.

If he didn't feel awkward before Daemond felt a whole new level now. "My sisters are also kind Humans who are better than me"

Seraphina shakes her head. "But you're the one who saved me…"

Daemond felt like he was arguing with a kid. "There are a few other Humans that would have done the same"

"But nobody ever tried to help me before you did…" Seraphina's voice began to get softer and quieter with each word.

"Don't worry Seraphina, I'm sure you'll find plenty of kind Humans. You just have to know where to look" Daemond was cringing at his own words, but he doesn't think his words are wrong. If all you look at are the negatives you'll never see the positives, it's like tunnel vision. It's also why a lot of people are racist towards the Faunus, especially with the White Fang in the picture.

He waited for a response for a minute before he noticed that Seraphina had fallen asleep.

Daemond looks down at the girl and it's clear that she is asleep, but her hold on him hadnt loosened at all. "Great…. Now what?"

Seraphina was in a deep sleep, the best one in a long time. The warmth she felt from Daemond felt like a warmth that she lost long ago.
