Chapter 4

Reid could be seen lounging on the sofa in the living room. Being confined to the house gave him a lot of time to think and he had come to a conclusion. If he was banned from performing any physical activities for now then he couldn't increase his physical stats.

He could wait for the three day ban to be lifted or he could use the opportunity to earn some points in other areas. Excluding strength, dexterity and vitality, that left him with intelligence and wisdom; which led to this current scene.

Reid lying on the sofa facing upwards, his black hair pressed against the soft material of the sofa. In his hand was a slightly thick book that he had been reading for the past three hours.

He didn't really have any interest in book so it took time to find a tolerable enough book to read. And so he had found a book that detailed the history of remnant, from the time of the war to the era of huntsmen.

Due to meta knowledge, he was already aware of which facts were true and which of them weren't. From what he had read so far, there were a lot of non truths in history that was known by the general public.

He put down the book with a sigh. 'Status'

Although he didn't have the full idea of the scope of the int and wis stats, he realized that they would be useful if they were important enough to be recognized by the system.

'I never thought I'd actually have to read a book to get stronger.'

He had yet to finish the book but he was already feeling dizzy from reading something boring for so long. It was only day one and he was already considering returning to training.

Groaning at the soreness in his body, he got off the sofa and made his way to the kitchen to pour himself a glass of orange juice.

'Seems like mom was right. I may have been a bit extra with training. My body wasn't strong enough to handle the stress of the sudden workout without appropriate rest.'

Thinking about this, he was reminded the only productive way forward for now was to increase his mental stats which meant...

'More books.' He thought depressingly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Finally!'
Walking out of the house without experiencing bodily pains for the first time in the last three days was refreshing.
More refreshing was the fact that he was no longer restricted to books. He couldn't count the number of times he almost fell asleep while reading but now he could go back to improving his physical stats.
'But...' The exam was just barely a week away and he had only worked on dexterity which he could only assume was higher than he classmates. He was really questioning that due to how easy it was to increase it but he had no choice but to go along with it.
Looking over his stats, he cringed as he noticed how disproportional it was looking. Despite the fact that he was preparing for a physical exam, the fact remained that his strength stat was very underwhelming.
'I should have put more thought into preparing.' With those thoughts in mind, he decided to use the rest of the days to the exam to increase his strength stat. But this brought about a slight problem. How exactly was he supposed to raise it.
The method he knew that could increase his strength included the use of weight which his mother definition wouldn't even think of allowing him to touch.
After racking his brain, the only way he could think of to raise it without the use of equipment was push-ups or pull ups. They may not be as effective as weights would be but they should still work.
He would have to start later because he was almost late for the academy. Just because he was the clan heir didn't mean that he was allowed to skip school without reason.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was like he hadn't even left. Nobody had questioned why he wasn't in school for the past few days.

'Mom probably informed them...' he thought.

Things were the same as usual, kids trying to outshine other kids in meaningless ways. Some ignorant ones show off their meager achievements to the less talented ones.

Before he made his way back home, he had decided to check if the academy had any weights that he could use. He couldn't just go to one of them and demand for weights or dumbbells. Seeing as how they report to his mother, she'll probably be notified the moment he asks for such. And besides that, who the hell would actually sell weights to a six year old.

With no other option, he was left with his original plan.

'Push-up it is.'

Making his way to one of the monkey bars, he grabbed onto it with the palm of his two hands before trying to pull himself. Luckily he had done this in his previously life so it was easy for him to find the proper form to use.

Pulling up his body at slightly comfortable speed and coming down at less comfortable speed. He could feel the strain it took to do such, so he simply went for as much as he could for now before deciding to continue after he got home.

"Hey kid! I wouldn't waste my time if I were you." He turned around to face the owner of the voice. It was a slightly tall boy with the usual Uchiha feature if a bit average in the looks department. His face seemed too fierce to be considered attractive but where he lacked in looks, he made up for it slightly with a bit of muscle.

"What?" Reid asked offhandedly before continuing with his activity. The boy seemed slightly offended by how casual he was treated.

"Everyone knows you're nothing but an ignorant child way in over your head. You only got moved up because your mom's the clan head but without that, you're nothing."

"It would be in your best interest to give up now...because we won't go easy on you." He said with a smug expression.

Calmly, Reid dropped down from the monkey bars with his eyes shut. Upon getting to the ground, he turned to fully face the other Uchiha.

"Are you done?" He asked rhetorically, making his face twitch a bit.

"I don't care for the opinion of lowlifes who can't accept their own weakness. I have a goal I intend to reach. If you get in my way..." he continued before pausing.

His eyes snapped open and cold black orbs showed themselves, frightening the young boy, causing him to stumble a few steps back.

"...I'll take you down." he said coldly.
