19 An unexpected occurance

Pyrrha was looking at Neo. Neo was looking at Pyrrha. Ren and Nora were looking at the two, looking at each other. The atmosphere was tense. Ren held his breath and Nora's eyes were as wide as an owl's. Then it finally came.

"Uno!" Pyrrha pumped her arms up happily.

"Shitasstits!!" Neo ranted loudly and buried her face in her hands.

For the past few weeks, they and team RWBY were introduced to strange but really fun games by Neo. This one was far better than Monopoly, which almost drove Neo and Ren insane. The fact that Pyrrha apologized every time she won or that Nora taunted them by dancing after didn't help.

"Every game I bring.. I swear I always lose! Cards Against Humanity next!" Neo stood up and challengingly pointed at Nora and Pyrrha.

Pyrrha didn't see Neo get competitive very often so she kept on playing and holding back her laughter every time she saw her expressions change so visibly.

"Well maybe we should go visit Vale like team RWBY is? Weiss really wanted to see the students coming in from the other Kingdoms" Pyrrha puts the game away and smiles.

"Oh yeah.. so that's going on. Let me check in" Neo pulled up the chatroom.

[>Neo²: Hey ya'll. How's it going? Blake I heard you went out to Vale today. Having fun?<]

[>Prettykitty: Weiss is being an ignorant brat and we're chasing a Faunus boy who winked at me. Pretty sure he's here for the Vytal festival<]

[>BoobaphysicsFTW: Oh! What's going on!? I've been so bored out here ever since I learned how to fight.. Now everyone relies on me to punch zombies to death so they can save ammo..<]

[>Neo²: Anyways. You're chasing after him?<]

[>Prettykitty: NO! Weiss is.. I don't really care if we catch him<]

[>Neo²: Ah making sure I don't get the wrong idea eh? I see. Want some help?<]

[>Prettykitty: No it's fine. We met some weird girl with Ruby<]

[Neo²: F for Ruby for being abandoned<]

[>Icecreambae: Haha! F!<]

[>Spartanwaifu: That's mean, Blake... F<]

[>Prettykitty: It's fine. She's good at making friends<]

[>Neo²: She is kind of an introvert. Ah she'll break out of her shell soon<]

[>Neo²: Blakey? You okay?<]

There was no response for a few minutes. Though Neo could figure why.

[>Prettykitty: Ugh! Weiss is so narrow minded!<]

Neo looked at Pyrrha and sighed.

"Yeah so team RWBY is gonna be kinda loud tonight. Ought to put on some ear plugs if you want to be able to sleep" Neo pat her shoulder.

"I'm sure it won't be that bad.." Pyrrha tried to be positive.

"Well..." Neo looked at the incoming ranting messages from Blake being sent rapidly.

-Beacon dorms, night-

"Maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!" Neo and the rest of JNPR heard from their door, Neo cringing at the harshness.

"We should interv-" Neo started but Blake opened the door and ran out, grabbing her and slinging the shorter girl over her shoulder as she ran out.

"Blake you don't have to run from this. Weiss needs to learn-" Neo was interrupted by a sniffle from Blake though.

"Oh jeez. Okay, let's go somewhere in Vale to calm down, okay?" Neo rubbed her ears under her bow.

"Okay.. thank you.." Blake sniffled again and squeezed the smaller girl tight as they left Beacon.

As they ran out of Beacon, a raven, perched on the school building from above watched them with its beady red eyes.

-Vale, two days later-

Blake and Neo had stayed in the same hideout they used right before going to Beacon. Blake quickly seemed to get comfortable, as it was mostly just the two of them staying there. Neopolitan would drop by often but she was frequently out doing a job with Roman and making sure things were right with Cinder. Blake was stretched out on the couch, head rested on Neo's lap as she told her and Neopolitan about her joke on Cinder.

"So yeah she keeps asking Mercury and Emerald to find 'Mike Hunt' or it's 'hurry up and grab Mike Hunt!'. Seems she still hasn't realized yet" Neo was idly rubbing Blake's ears.

"Mmm.." Blake sighed in contentment and for a second, she felt herself purr.

She froze in embarrassment, looking up at Neo to see if she felt or heard it. But both Neo and Neopolitan both had their insidious teasing grins on.

"Oh Blake.. was it good for you?" Neo leaned down and whispered the last part in her ear, making it twitch.

"AH okay wait.. I need to talk about something that bugged me when I had that fight with Weiss" Blake quickly diverted the topic to avoid the shame and possibly something else she didn't want to overtly admit.

"Neopolitan.. Neo.. are the White Fang really behind the robberies?" Blake seriously asked as Neo and Neopolitan looked at each other.

"They're involved but not spearheading it. Remember when I told you about Roman's current 'boss'? She's behind it. I'm going to stop her though" Neo put her hands behind her neck and leaned her legs on the table.

"Can I.. I need to talk to them. I need to see them for myself and ask why" Blake insisted.

"Why work for Cinder? Or Roman, who says some lowkey racist comments? You know he does that to get a rise out of people right? He's the kind of guy to yell the 'N' word at a group of angry white girl protesters. If he thought he could get away with it. He's a bit of a lovable prick" Neo shrugged at the confused faces of both girls.

"What's the 'N' word..?" Blake asks warily.

"NO I'm not opening that pandora's box.. It's other world politics. Let's just move on.." Neo imagined the utter chaos Roman would cause if he were in her world.

"Okay. Yes I need to ask them why. I need to see it for myself" Blake pleaded with her.

"Fiiine! But you'll need to.. not kill Roman when you get there. Just act like you're trying to take him in" Neo sighed, knowing where she was going to take this.

"I'll be with you of course. We'll be going to the docks where there's going to be a big shipment of dust" Neo tapped her scroll.

"I'll let Roman know about it. He won't try to kill you either. Or he's gonna get a foot up the ass.." Neo grunted.

Blake simply responded by hugging her. Neopolitan watched as her counterpart was smothered in kitty ears and huffed before joining in on the petting, getting an odd comfort from petting them.

"Okay come on.. I need to shower and get ready for tonight" Neo got up with a cough before she spent the rest of the day petting Blake.

-Vale docks, night-

Blake and Neo were waiting on top of a building across from the SDC dust drops. Both were seeing a Bullhead swooping down into the area with White Fang grunts pouring out impatiently.

"Yup. There they are. Just got in contact with Roman. Remember, no hurting him too bad. I'll join you if things take a turn for the worse and flank them. Just let Roman get away" Neo looked at Blake, who distressingly nodded.

"This just means you were right to leave them, Blake. Sure they think fear will get them equal status but you really ought to know that fear will only go so far. Humans will see Faunus as a threat more than people. You'll be dangerous animals in their eyes. That's not the right way to go about it. I'll be right behind ya" Neo planted her hand on her back as Blake nodded with a smile and leapt down to confront the White Fang.

She saw Blake swoop in and take an expecting Roman hostage. All Roman did was sigh dramatically and hold his hands up while Blake started to talk to the grunts.

Getting up, Neo was ready to jump down but unexpectedly felt a heavy but fast hit to her aura from behind. Launched forward from the force, she planted her hands on the floor and jumped up, seeing a masked woman in a yukata right in front of her.

"Rav-" She was hit with the scabbard of her blake and slid back, taking Rivers of Blood out with a confused scowl.

She didn't get a chance to speak out her confusion though, the woman had swung yet again, making their blades lock. Neo was about to use her semblance to get some breathing room but the woman planted her foot on hers and hit her once again with her scabbard, hitting her in the stomach and trying to put Neo in a hold. Neo let herself be grabbed and used her lightning to cover herself, making the woman take some aura damage and back up.

The woman kept her sight on Neo though, so she wasn't caught by surprise when she saw Neo follow through the opening with a dash and a slew of swings. The woman managed to parry each one and swing at her neck, which made the image of Neo shatter. The next thing the woman was met with was Neo's boots, her head taking a missle kick and knocking her into a wall.

She quickly recovered just in time to avoid bloody slashes coming out of the Rivers of Blood that cut the wall she was knocked into, to pieces. The woman tripped her with a leg sweep before getting a red glow around her eyes and hitting Neo in the chest with a blast of elemental magic, throwing her across the roofs. Neo's aura on the verge of shattering, planted her feet on the ground to stop another impact and looked at the Woman walking towards her.

"You're skilled but inexperienced" The woman calmly stated before witnessing Neo's body change and grow into the white haired woman with a long coat.

Taking her Proxy form, Neo planted her hand on the ground and seemingly appeared beside the Woman, body flickering with lightning. Bringing the Rivers of Blood down on her, enhanced with lightning. Raven created a magic sword made out of ice, which shattered from the force and violently pelted the roof with shards of ice. Neo covered her face and realized too late she took her eyes off the woman.

Which was just the opportunity the woman needed to hit her with a fully charged fire dust slash across her chest. It immediately shattered her aura and cut into her, drawing blood and burning her before Neo was launched into a shipping container. She was still alive, though injured and struggling to move. Her ribs and sternum were at the very least cracked, making every breath hurt.

"Fuck.." Neo resisted the rising urge to cough and noticed the Woman leap down to her. She also saw Ruby and Penny arrive and start to fight an increasingly annoyed Roman.

Though Neo's predicament got all of their attention. Blake looked incredibly worried and tried to help her but the Woman cut open a portal behind Neo and kicked her in.

"NEO!" Blake jumped up as fast as she could to the shipping container but she was too late. She saw the woman step through the portal right after, immediately seeing it close.

"Fantastic.." Roman sighed and took the opportunity to get in a bullhead while Penny and Ruby were taking care of the White Fang.

"I'm going to have to deal with a pissed off Succubus when I get back, aren't I?" Roman rubbed the bridge of his nose.

-Mistral, Bandit camp-

Neo was hurled inside a large tent where a short, tanned girl was sitting. Immediately after, the woman came through and tossed her Grimm helmet on the bed nearby.

"This is her? She looks weird. What kind of magic bullshit does she have?" The tanned girl put her fist on her cheek and gestured to Neo.

"I saw it. She's no Maiden. But I definitely felt her magic. That form surprised me too. You actually managed to hit me. I'm impressed, girl" Raven squatted down and faced Neo.

"At least.. haha.. the last thing I see before I pass out is that sweet MILF cleavage.. priorities.." Neo smirked at the sight of Raven's confused deadpan before passing out.
