67 Amalgam Remnant

Blake and Neo were walking over to Vale from the Emerald forest. It was proving to be a long walk so they decided to catch up on everything the other missed.

"So how's Kit? You know.. the fox pet I have? The one nobody forgot existed?" Neo coughed to herself at the last part.

"He's been offered a staffing position at Beacon along with Zwei-" Blake was about to explain when Neo gave her a confused expression.

"Who?"

"Zwei... Ruby's dog?" Blake clarified.

"Oh you mean Scrungo the Second. Anyway, go on?" Neo gestured to her.

"You have a weird naming sense... Well, anyway. They both work at Beacon. They sniff around for contraband, apparently" Blake concluded with a shrug.

"So they're Beacon's TSA then. How about our teams? We did leave abruptly" Neo scratched her head awkwardly as Blake chuckled at her admission.

"Yeah, you were presumed dead by a lot of people. Nora said you were teleported to the moon to fight zombies. After an explanation though, they understood. Yang, Ruby, Weiss, Ren and Nora are still attending class but they miss you. I've been too busy to go to class myself. Maybe they can join us sometime when we go to another world? I hate just leaving them behind" Blake looked at Neo pleadingly after her request, making Neo smirk and stroke her head.

"That sounds fun, actually. Maybe we'll take a vacation on a more peaceful world soon. Nothing like Fate or DBZ. Maybe.. a cooking-based world? Or a swimming one? Or a fanservice one. I'll let you guys decide" Neo finished petting Blake, who happily nodded at her suggestions.

Right as they were about to leave the treeline, they saw who appeared to be Ozpin walk over to them with someone who also looked like Glynda. It seemed they weren't much different from the ones they knew. Ozpin was casually drinking from his coffee mug while Glynda was glaring at them, ready to enter into combat at a moment's notice.

"Leaving so soon? I have a few.. questions" Ozpin said, taking a sip from his mug during the pause.

"Yeah it'd have been too easy to just leave like that, huh?" Neo sighed and glanced at Blake, who just nodded in agreement.

"Very good. Glynda, please escort them to my office while I announce the teams" Ozpin requested/ordered the Blonde teacher as he took off towards the announcement area.

"Hey Blake.. Besides his drip, doesn't he seem the same?" Neo asked, looking to her partner.

"Yeah but that might be the case for everyone. They kinda seemed the same to me. Maybe just a bit more mature" Blake whispered back as they followed Glynda back into the larger Beacon.

As soon as they arrived in the Headmaster's office, they noticed how technologically impressive it was. To Neo, it looked like something Tony Stark would have created. There were holographic screens above the desk and the desk itself looked like it was part of a super computer.

~Did Ozpin steal some of Batman's shit? How do these people even have this kinda technology?~ Neo thought about how the Grimm stalled humanity in the original series.

~Aside from that, they kept the human and faunus population in check. Or, more accurately, they almost drove them to extinction. So how did Vale look like this? More advanced than Atlas in the original Remnant and larger than any city I've seen thus far. The Grimm are obviously a thing too or Beacon wouldn't exist..~ Neo mused to herself until she felt Blake's head rest on her shoulder.

"You okay? You've been uncharacteristically quiet" Blake asked in worry.

"Oh, yeah I'm fine. Just thinking about the situation here and the advanced technology" Neo explained.

Glynda kept an eye on them both and waited in the Headmaster's office with them. She was quiet and far more cautious than even their Glynda was. After thirty minutes, Ozpin walked in with a soft sigh. Taking a seat in his chair, he raised his brow at Glynda inquisitively.

"You haven't been quiet this entire time, have you? I understand caution but this is clearly a different situation, Glynda" Ozpin sighed once again as he watched her brow twitch in annoyance.

"Is it? You do not truly know the extent of 'their' abilities. They may be able to disguise themselves" Glynda responded harshly.

"Of course. But why walk right up to our doorstep? I believe this is something else. Now, to explain to our likely confused guests.." Both Professors looked at the two girls they had brought inside.

They were expecting them to be patiently waiting to be included, confused or even nervous. But the multi-colored girl was just sitting across the other one's lap with hands behind her head and legs folded. She was bouncing her one foot up and down while the other girl was paying attention to the Professors, yes. But she was also running her hands through the multi-colored girl's hair.

"So that was an interesting conversation you had. I guess you talked that way but kept a bunch of information to yourselves because you wanted to gauge our reactions. I get that right?" Neo asked, bouncing her foot to a song playing in her head.

At her question, Glynda's eyes narrowed as she grew more apprehensive. Ozpin just put his mug to his lips and took a slow sip, hiding the intrigued grin on his face.

"I suspect the people you alluded to wasn't us. You also didn't say 'semblance' when you mentioned 'abilities' so I suspect you're dealing with a group. A relatively new group. At least, to you it's new" Blake further clarified, making both Professors' brows raise.

Their impression of the girls before them rose.

"Yup. So.. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you wanna get our information. Probably most important thing you'd wanna know is who we 'work' for. I'd be happy to let you know we don't work for or with anyone right now. We're drifters that like to help people" Neo stated, watching their posture ease up a little.

"I see. That certainly is something we wanted to know. But we also wanted to know where you came from. You see.. your friend there has an uncanny resemblance to our new student, Blake Belladonna. You yourself having a resemblance to a notorious criminal in Vale. Neopolitan, is it?" Ozpin asked and received a nod from Glynda.

Blake shared a look with Neo.

[>Prettykitty: I think they know we're not from this world. Something's going on in this Remnant<]

[>Neo²: My thoughts exactly. Let's not spill everything though. It could complicate things in case they become enemies<]

Neo shrugged and broke off her gaze on Blake before answering the headmaster.

"Yeah let's say we're not from around here" Neo admitted, watching Ozpin slowly nod to himself.

"Where are you from?" He asked.

"A Remnant" Neo responded curtly.

"What are your intentions here?" Ozpin asked another question, turning it into a conversation between just himself and Neo.

"Eh.. Don't really have a specific goal in mind just yet. I'll probably just do what I always do" She smirked.

"Offend people and cause chaos?" Blake deadpanned, making Neo cough loudly to herself.

"Blake! You wound me! I do other stuff too. I deliver justice to sleazy bastards, I lewd you, I teach occasionally, I cook and I sing too. I'm not that two dimensional.." Neo scowled and stuck her tongue out at Blake, who responded by giggling softly.

"Hahaha.. right right. I'm sorry" Blake apologized halfheartedly.

"As I was saying.. I'll be helping out here and there. Seeing what I can do, I can probably solve a lot of problems that require violence. After all.. if violence isn't solving your issues, you're probably not using enough of it" Neo watched as both of their expressions soured and broke out into a laugh.

"I'm half-joking, of course" That seemed to ease their worries.

"Of course... Hm.. Would you like to join us then? You'd be in a far better position to help people if you allied with Beacon" Ozpin offered as Neo raised her brow.

"I'll consider it after you tell me what you were alluding to earlier. The whole 'A Remnant' thing didn't seem to really surprise you too much" Neo saw him smirk and nod before taking a long drink from his mug.

"Yes, I can do that. I'd assume, from your statement about being from 'A' Remnant, that you know about the Grimm?" Ozpin asked, probing the extent of their knowledge.

"Yeah. Creatures born from the Brother of Darkness. Controlled by spooky, pale, big tittied witch lady. Go on" Neo casually replied back, revealing she knew a good deal more than even veteran huntsmen.

Ozpin sighed and pulled up some images on his holo-screens.

"Seems you know much already. Yes. Grimm have been around longer than Humanity has. Since you know about Salem, I'll tell you the dire situation we find ourselves in. You see.. Salem has been a threat to human and faunus alike for a very long time. But around a thousand years ago.. she vanished. No idea where she went in that time but the Grimm were far less coordinated and that led to us making large strides in technological and reproductive advancements. There were still Grimm attacks but they posed far less of a threat. Until thirty years ago.. when Salem returned. She had conquered an entirely different Remnant that was unprepared for her. She took select people and corrupted them with her magic and the black pool. She created this... abomination of Human and Grimm that possess aura and semblances" Ozpin paused to let that sink in before continuing.

"Since their return they've killed close to sixty million people. The Grimm are coordinated again and with their newest additions, they've begun to regain the footing they had before Salem disappeared. The city we established in the lands that used to be hers was obliterated. The peace we have gotten used to has made us weak. We need all the help we can get because, quite frankly.. We are desperate" Ozpin laid it all out for them, holding onto his serious expression.

"That sounds incredibly troubling.." Blake sighed.

"Yeah that's one way to say it.." Neo sat up and thought about it.

~The mission is a 'choose your side' kind of thing. Which means I should also consider talking to the other side too. I need the whole picture. Ozpin'll definitely be keeping an eye on me no matter where I go from here on. Might as well be right under his nose so he'll drop his guard eventually and I can try to get in contact with the other side~ Nodding to herself, Neo made her decision.

"Okay, I'll join Beacon. But I have conditions.." Neo's tone turned grave, earning Ozpin and Glynda's full attention.

Though Blake just struggled to keep her expression stoic.

"First.. Is there any rules that prohibit students or staff from sexual activities?" She asked, posing like 'L' but right on top of Blake.

"U-Um.. yes but why is that..-" Glynda responded as Ozpin's brow raised.

"That doesn't apply to me. I'm over eighteen and I'm legal. Next.. I'm not required to take classes... especially my hated subject.. Math" Neo shuddered hatefully at even the word.

"That's.. not an issue..?" Ozpin's brow raised further.

"Thirdly, I am allowed to kick racist, sexist or other arrogant or douchey people in the testicles. Namely, team CRDL... Namely, Cardin" Neo slightly laughed to herself.

"I... *Sigh* I can ignore it if it is well deserved and they are harassing other students or are seen as a nuisance" Ozpin acquiesced.

"Finally... I require a room with a jacuzzi hot tub, queen sized bed and a.. seventy inch plasma wide screen T.V... or holo T.V? Whatever quality is better" Neo requested, seeing Glynda's shoulders droop and Ozpin's glasses lower.

"...Really..?" Glynda asked, incredulously.

"With any streaming service you have" Neo finished with a proud head nod before finishing.

"Oh! And not 3D because it's a stupid fucking gimmick and everyone knows it.." Blake nodded along in agreement with Ozpin.

~God I hope I meet Abridged Alucard..~ Neo finished their meeting with an earnest wish.
