Chapter 35: Mother vs Daughter - Scarlet's new form

Scarlet killed The Hound and was now on her way to finish what she had started. Finishing her mother off once and for all, she had no idea that Kazuma and the others were tailing her though. But poor Darkness was left to fend Axel from Grimm, not that it mattered to her.

"I'm coming...to finish what I've started SALEM!" Scarlet yelled as she knew that in the end. Salem would no longer be her mother, she had a much more important task to do. And that was to make sure that the nightmare she had wouldn't come true. "Just you wait...Kurumi, I'll be by your side after I'm done with everything...hopefully Tohka was able to warn you and everyone about Demigra.."

Salem sensed Scarlet coming as the Monstra came out from the ocean depths and into the air, as the black mist surrounded it. Salem had left the castle and went into the Monstra as she grins widely. "Come to me Scarlet, we will see who has the upper hand in our family feud..you or me? But, let's see how well you can handle a horde of your brothers and sisters!"

The sound of Grimm roaring could be heard through out the black mist, Grimm flew out of it as they headed to where Scarlet was at. Salem's red eyes glowed with anger as she clinched her fist tightly, waiting for the results of the Grimm. "You may not be Ozpin, but you are a throne in my side Scarlet...killing me was your first mistake, saving those pitiful humans was your second mistake...and now you charge blindly at me..that is your third and final mistake." She closed her eyes as she was remembering how Forgotten had brought her from the depths of hell, to only take her revenge out on Scarlet. "It's all thanks to the God of Death that I, Salem. Is here alive and not burning in the depths of hell. Now that I know you're alive again Scarlet...you will pay for what you've done."

Scarlet noticed the Grimm flying towards her as she grins widely. "I see she's sending my brothers and sisters to do her dirty work." The Grimm girl flew towards the on coming horde of Grimm as she sliced right through them, not giving them any time to attack her. "Weak..."

"Whoa, it's raining blood." Kazuma said as he carried Megumin on his back. "Are you sure she went this way?"

"Yeah, I'm sure." Megumin said. "I saw her go this way.."

Aqua was covering her head as she ran through the raining blood. "I don't care, we need to find shelter!"

"I wonder how Darkness is doing back at town?" Yunyun asked as she was following behind them.

The group was quiet the rest of the time, as the blood rain had stopped for now. Until more Grimm would come that is, Kazuma stops in his tracks as he noticed they were surrounded. A Deathstalker walked towards them as Megumin was still down for the count, and didn't haven any energy to use her magic.

"Aqua, take Megumin. Yunyun let's deal with these creatures." Kazuma said as he hands Megumin to Aqua and looks at Yunyun. "We should be able to set them on fire."

"But what about the forest around us? Wouldn't that be problematic?" Yunyun asked a bit worried

"A forest fire might happen, but we have Aqua to put it out." Kazuma said. "It's going to be that or us being six feet under."

"Correction, Eris can revive us..." Auqa said holding Megumin.

The Deathstalker got closer as it raised it's tail up and swung it down trying to stab them. Yunyun and Kazuma moved out of the way as Aqua yelps and threw Megumin in the air. "Oh no, I'm sorry Megumin!"

"Now Yunyun." Kazuma said as he generated a fire ball in his hand as he noticed Yunyun had done the same. "Together!"

Both of them shot fire balls at the Grimm as the Deathstalker roared and snapped it's claws at the two. Aqua shook Megumin trying to get her to get back into shape, but it didn't help any as the Goddess only made it worse on the petite arch wizard.

"Now, again!" Kazuma said as him and Yunyun fired more fire balls at the Grimm, getting the advantage on it. "Hell yeah!"

Scarlet noticed the Monstra as she snickered. "Hiding inside your mobile fortress are we?" She flew at a fast speed towards the Grimm, and went straight inside.

The alarm blared loudly as Salem grins, she knew Scarlet was inside the Monstra as she quickly dashed out of the throne room. Eventually running in Scarlet as both stood there silently, Scarlet gripped Black Rose tightly as Salem's eyes glowed.

"So you come out of hiding.." Scarlet said as she glared at Salem. "It's time to finish what we've started, wouldn't you agree?"

"I couldn't agree more." Salem said as she stood there, she waited for Scarlet to make the first move. She planned on having her wrapped up and tortured with magic, until she gave in and obeyed her once more.

Scarlet dashed forward as she swung Black Rose at Salem. "You're mine!" She sliced Salem's cape as it was torn, she noticed Salem moved out of the way but not by much. "Oops, did I cut your cape?"

Salem growls as she punched Scarlet in the gut, and fired magic from her hand at her sending Scarlet flying back. "Miserable child!"

Scarlet growls as she stops herself midair. "Looks like I'm going to need to step it up a notch.." She flew down towards Salem and grabbed her face and slammed her down onto the ground, she repeated this action of bashing Salem's head into the ground but knew it wouldn't keep her down for long.

Salem reached up and placed the palm of her hand against Scarlet's stomach and shot more magic at her, as she blew a hole through Scarlet's abdomen. "How dare you, strike me down like that?" She noticed Scarlet didn't stumble back, her grip on her was still there.

"Like I'll be dumb enough to stumble back from a attack like that." Scarlet said as she coughed up blood. "I've dealt with way more than your shitty magic attacks.."

"What!?" Salem asked shocked, she struggled under Scarlet's grasp as she tried to slither away from her. "Unhand me child!"

Scarlet's eyes glowed as she grins. "Oh I'll unhand you alright..." The hole in her abdomen slowly closed up as she laughed insanely. "I'll put you in your gave, and take what's rightfully mine!" She wrapped herself around Salem as she flew into the air with her. "Your soul and power will be mine, then I will be the true terror the multiverse has ever seen!"

"You've gone mad." Salem said as she struggled in Scarlet's tight grip.

Scarlet snickered. "What can I say...your blood runs through me after all..." She unhinged her jaw like a snake and engulfed Salem's head and started to devour her.

The Monstra flew over where Kazuma and the others were at as the castle was also nearby, Grimm kept showing up. When all of a sudden, the Monstra swelled up with a immense build up of magic. The Grimm suddenly exploded from within as a bright ray of light shot into the sky and out from the massive explosion. A shock wave sent the trees flying out of the ground as Aqua, Kazuma, Yunyun and Megumin had also been sent flying backwards this massive explosion had started to crumble the castle as it slowly collapsed.

"What's going on?" Aqua asked as she held her skirt down while being blown through the air. "This is starting to get crazy!"

Kazuma and Megumin bumped heads as Yunyun had also held her skirt. "I don't know Aqua, but that bight light that shot up into the sky is bothering me...I wonder if it's visible from Axel?"

The air fell silent as the creatures that were around the forest had went into hiding, the giant frogs had stopped in their tracks as the bright light could indeed be seen from Axel as Darkness slashed at the last remaining Grimm that had entered town, she had noticed it as Wiz came out of her shop and gulped nervously. "I've got a bad feeling about this Darkness..."

Ash fell from the sky like snow, the bright light was still within eye view from all over. The castle was in ruins now as the whole area was covered in ash, the Grimm were no where to be seen as the light slowly dimmed down.

"The light is dying down." Aqua said as her and Yunyun landed on Kazuma, who was on top of Megumin.

After the light had died down, a figure was floating downward as a grin appeared on their face. A eerie aura of pure evil flowed off of this figure as they were soon seen in what light from the sun shined down on them. Scarlet stood there, long silver hair. Nevermore wings, and horns on her head. There was no trace of Salem, just Scarlet. Her eyes were closed as she touched down in the center of the ash that covered the ground, her eyes slowly opened as she felt Salem's magic flowing through her body.

"This power...it's mine now...Salem's power is mine." Scarlet said as she clinched her fist and started to laugh. "This is perfection to it's fullest! Now who's the perfect being? Not Cell, not anyone. I am, I Scarlet Rose...the perfect being! Now I think it's time to put this new found power to the test."
