5 Chapter 5: New World (3)

Chapter 5: New World (3)

~Jack POV~

I began to sit down on the side of the bench of Patch Village admiring the park and forest life ahead of me as I ponder my time when I investigated this place.

Everything around me all felt too real for this to be a dream.

The idea was there in the back of my head thinking I was just dreaming all of this up but…

I definitely tried to pinch myself next.

"Ow."

Flinching at myself and nope this is no dream as this is all reality now as I have been observing everything around this place.

Then that means everything that happen to me thus far has been all real.

Well shit…

And given my situation doesn't really make me feel all that better either.

Having no Gamer Mind or Gamer Body means no mental protections from Salem and no free guarantee that I will be safe from losing any body parts with my body as it is.

But I can still gain skills by doing certain actions being <Observe> as my skill as it has been useful getting a better grasp of my eyes to see further enemies ahead of me as I managed to sneak away from some trouble.

By trouble I mean getting away from the people around these parts and thanks to them I managed to unlock this skill just by sneaking around.

Hell, I even got a skill for sneaking around multiple times just to survive and shit.

-----

<Sneak> (Active) Lv. 3/100 Exp: 34%

Description: By silently walking away and breathing, you've a higher chance of sneaking up on some fools or even avoiding dangerous people who are trying to find you.

-Chances of being unseen by 3%.

-----

Whew…

Knowing the situation, I need to unlock my abilities soon enough.

Think man what method I should even come up with to help better my odds to unlock one of the following traits I have…

Hmm…

The one way would be through skill books in the public Library or through me manually unlocking them within my body.

Question is how should I even go about it?

….

I wonder if simply just releasing energy from my soul would count?

Worth a shot at the very least.

I'm releasing energy…

I'm releasing energy…

I'm releasing energy…

I'm releasing energy…

Hmm…

Let's see…

….

…..

Nope I don't feel anything in my soul that's happening right now?

This has been a big or I guess minor waste of my time trying to attempt to unlock it.

Man…

Sigh…

For now I'm stuck with my AP for the time being skills unless I unlock it first but otherwise I'm stuck unless I open a Dungeon.

But first I would need some time to collect myself on what to do now that I have to focus on unlocking my Aura first before going straight into any danger.

Not like some certain shonen protagonist that's for sure.

Next up is to get my Aura.

Knowing the situation, I need to unlock my abilities soon enough.

Well…

The Gamer Ability must have already knew I would unlock it somehow think man think clearly without the usual mechanics of Gamer Body I need to experience all of this the hard way to grow stronger.

Well no use crying over spilled milk.

Hmm…

I wonder if I get a device by fusing my Aura and my Mana to get it?

I mean Ozpin gave out magic to his close allies why can't he do the same for me?

I mean he wasted it on Qrow and Raven giving them the ability to turn into fucking birds for crying out loud.

Give some of that magic stuff my way.

So many possibilities but so little time as well.

Welp… better get started then.

/////

After searching around the whole area of the village I managed to find just the library place I needed to find in the village as I didn't hesitate to get what I want.

Entering inside the building I was browsing around the place as I was seeing a lot of windows pop off as I see everything, they have talked about everything to the smallest details of something relating to Grimm or Huntsman/Huntresses.

Perfect.

Moving towards the sections provided and not safeguarded I began to search through the rows of books that could provide to be useful.

Smirking like a kid and greedy I was tempted to take all of them with me…

Keyword tempted here.

Holding back my greed though what I needed was a book that could helpfully unlock my aura using the Skill Book method.

Although finding a skill book is good building a good foundation is also great as well.

Since I can't use much on magic I could focus more on the weapon and martial arts side in this world.

With my anime knowledge as well as other methods it could work once I get the kinks and [The Gamer] ability mentioning to me could work.

But having a weapon would also work just as well.

The next thing I have to get is a weapon next since I'm going to need some that work for me.

People always use swords, mechas weapons, or the cliché types.

Maybe I should be a master of daggers with some guns on the side.

Well, I guess the only way to find out is to try.

That and I need to start grinding as soon as possible if I want to survive the encounters just waiting to happen in this world.

I need to focus my attention on what changed and what hasn't for me to get a good grasp of the situation.

It's for me to know if this is a AU or not in RWBY.

With that in my head, I began to search the place as quickly as I began to observe around the books relating to Huntsman as this is my best bet to get Aura first is by absorbing the book to unlock it.

You just have to love the Skill Book method.

Searching around the place I began to search around till I finally formed a smirk finding just the book I needed as I talked to himself humbly, "Perfect. Just what I need. This book will help me in the long run of things."

Placing my hand on the book in question I saw the perfect window asking a question as I smirked seeing it in person,

[You obtained the skill book 'History of Aura.' Would you like to learn this skill?]

Yes.

Accepting the yes icon window, I watched as the book shatter into light and vanished, feeling the knowledge flow into me as it did so. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply before opening them once more seeing a new skill has been obtained.

Vanishing in a flash of light I began to see and translate as well understand the fundamentals of aura till I saw another window pop up as well a brilliant royal blue color surrounded me as I saw the notification.

[You have unlocked the skill <Aura>]

Skill List.

<Aura>.

-----

"Whew…"

Wheezing out my breath I felt a layer surrounded me as I felt incredibly impowered with this new sensation as I couldn't help but smirk at this.

The feeling like your invincible like you can take on the whole entire world.

The unbeatable sensation making you question what you can do and just do it…

Those kinds of ideals are what most people are probably thinking like I am about this situation that they are perhaps unbeatable or you are better than everyone…

However, reality comes back to me as I thought of my situation as I talk to myself with depression setting in as I spoke, "Right… I forgot I need to live still in Remnant. Sigh… time to do that research."

Yeah…

Research…

Bringing myself together again I began to make my way to a nearby computer to –

Never mind.

From observing a bit from afar I can clearly see that they are using Scrolls as keys needed to access the terminals to search the web…

Wow…

I feel so poor seeing all of that.

However, seeing that all of the efforts of trying to get any info about this Remnant is none I began to search around the library for a bit before thinking the next step to do.

With no info of how the plot is or what the rules of this world works I'm basically screwed if I don't learn as much as I can.

Add the fact that I'm dirt poor doesn't really help much.

Luckily I got some Lien for me to use and some 10 day rations of food.

Hmm…

Or perhaps there is another means to get what I need real quick with my knowledge…

Smirking a bit I began to move away from the public library and open up a random book as I look through my Gamer Screen glancing over to my Help sittings and pressing on the Description on Party System.

[….

The Party System allows you to form a party with other members granting them Mini-Gamer powers only accessing to Level Ups and choices of increasing their stats. Or you could change it for them. For more info please press [Description].

[Description]: The Party System allows the player to invite others to his or her party so long as the Gamer knows the targeted party member. Both players will be able to chat with each other using text logs as well as trade/give items…

…]

I see…

Well then…

Knowing this and a few more things about what I have planned in mind time for me to start a party.

Typing over I began to activate the party system of who to invite and who will give me the most benefit for the info of each other.

Although I will probably omit my real name for safety sake and I'm gambling my chances like this possibly pissing off these two but…

While Salem and Ozma are good targets of who will provide for me more…

They can somehow find me so who else would be ideally good to get benefits however…

Trying to trick two immortals wouldn't be very good.

So how about I target a character that is more vulnerable to threats or there very safety.

Well, why not try on their subordinates.

But the real question is should it be worth it?

Hmm…

Shaking my head a bit trying to threaten them wouldn't be any good when it comes down to teams in the end.

Although I need the money as well and playing with Ozpin and Salem could backfire hard…

No.

I better first do the daily quest to gain some Stat points.
