Chapter 32: The First Steps (6)

~Third POV~

*Swoosh*

Yang Xiao Long then begins to search around the Emerald Forest as it was misty underbrush at the time where she is walking and looking around to find a partner or her sister with no worries whatsoever calling out, "Helloooooooo? Is anyone out there? Helloooo? I'm getting bored here! Is someone there? Ruby, is that you?"

*Rustle*

Yang stops and raises her arms not seeing a shadow quickly pass by as she then hears a rustling sound in the bushes behind her and turns. The rustling continues as Yang comes over and peaks inside asking if it was Ruby.

"Grr…"

A low, inhuman growl is heard, and Yang's head rises up as she stares at the creature Yang quickly realizes that it wasn't her sister but Grimm, "Nope!"

*Swoosh*

Yang quickly rolls to the side as Ursa charges out of the green. She gets up and activates her Ember Celica, staring at the monster before another Ursa runs out behind her.

She leaps over it, and its companion runs at her again, only to get knocked back by a fiery punch. The other Ursa and Yang charge at each other, and Yang manages to get under it and deliver several punches and a kick to send the creature back.

*Bam*

*Bam*

*Bam*

*Thud*

Yang then asked the Grimm Ursa in a joking manner to it as it began to get up Yang starts cracking a joke with it, "You guys wouldn't happen to have seen a girl in a red hood, or a boy in a red coat, would you?"

However, Ursa Grimm merely growl at her making her reply to it, "You could just say no you know?"

One of the Ursai stands on its legs and swipes at her twice, Yang barely dodges the attacks as Yang was laughing at it thinking she avoided the attack, "Geeeez, you two couldn't hit the broad side of a ba..."

Before she can complete her insult, a single strand of her golden hair falls in front of her face and lands on the forest floor. Yang closes her violet eyes, then opens them to reveal red, making the Ursai look at each other confusedly before Yang screams outgoing super Saiyan at it, "You... You monster!!!"

*Boom*

*BAM*

*BAM*

An inferno surrounds Yang for a moment, and she rockets forward, unleashing a devastating combo of flaming hits and blows on the offending Ursa, making it fly through several burning trees.

The other monster runs over but stops short at Yang's gaze while a tree falls to the ground behind her.

Yang angrily asks the other Grimm that seemingly stopped as she yells at it still angry, "What! You want some, too?!"

*Bang*

The Ursa rears up and prepares to strike...

*Woosh*

Right, when a whirling noise is heard and the monster makes a befuddled noise, falling down a second later to reveal Blake Belladonna with her Gambol Shroud in the beast's back.

Yang pants in exhaustion while Blake recalls the weapon back to her hand, sheathing it on her back and smiling to the side to Yang.

Yang, now purple-eyed again, speaks to her new partner over the smoking remains of the monster, "I could've taken him."

Meanwhile Ruby was running around in search of allies of her own she began to look around yelling out for her allies' names.

"Yang!"

"Jack!"

"Yang!"

"Jack!"

However, as she ran, she happened by chance to see Weiss Schnee around the area she was walking around, and both their eyes met.

But Weiss simply chose to ignore Ruby as she went ahead to go look around instead of searching for a more suitable partner, "Where in the world is Pyrrha?"

Ruby being an innocent girl as she is simply questioned Weiss back with facts, "Aren't we supposed to be partners now?"

*THUD*

Hearing a thud sound and a person that disassemble himself descending on the ground was none other than Jack reassembling himself catching the two girls' attention Jack turns around to see Weiss but saw Ruby behind her as he smiled and waved at them.

A moment of silence was there with Weiss staring at Jack as Ruby waved back at Jack….

Silence…

Weiss stares at Jack with a blank expression while someone was watching them…

Weiss immediately turns around and grabs Ruby by her coat as she is confused by the events happening as she spoke to herself, "Let's get going. Even if I'm paired with her, as long as I can get on Pyrrha's team… Just not him."

Like that Weiss took Ruby away as Jack playfully replied to them wishing them luck and reminding Ruby, "Well... that happened? I hope you do well Ruby! Weiss! Oh, and Ruby don't forget to check your Scroll of the map!"

When he finished, immediately turned his direction towards where Pyrrha was hiding as she seems, a bit surprised as he spoke surprising her making eye contact, "Hi there Pyrrha are we having a pleasant day this morning? I see that we're going to be partners now. I can see you looking at me with your scope behind the tree leaves."

Pyrrha for her part was honestly surprised more to see and hear from Jack with his aura or semblance Jack immediately located her easily.

It was more thanks to Jack's <Observe> skill helping him know which direction he needed to go as well as pick the correct path that leads to Pyrrha's direction.

Pyrrha for her part couldn't hold back but remark with a smile on her face, "Very well then Jack. Guess I do have some spots left for you to be welcome to my team."

Ruby followed behind Weiss she frowns at her as she spoke out behind her, "Hey what's the hurry?"

Hearing the voice of Ruby nearby as Weiss hurry along the path upward she replied to Ruby, "I don't want to be delayed and lose time because you're so slow."

Ruby glares at that remark.

*Swoosh*

Catching Weiss by surprise to feel a gust of wind behind her and seeing rose petals around she now saw Ruby in front of her as she returned and replied to Weiss's remark, "See? I'm not slow."

Weiss mumbles surprised to see the girl unlock her semblance, "A Semblance?"

Ruby tilts her face direction at her as she spoke out with confidence, "I'll show you what I can do. I bet you'll give me a second chance then!"

However, instead of praising Ruby Weiss scolds Ruby about showing off her semblance, "Quit showing off your abilities like a child."

Ruby frowned in surprise hearing that from Weiss as she replied back catching up, "Hey, hold up!"

Catching up to Weiss she glanced at Ruby as she began to doubt her being here in Beacon, "And you look like a child, too. Were you really old enough to enroll?"

Ruby shyly looks away at that as she still replied to Weiss's question, "Well that's… I skipped ahead."

Weiss looked at Ruby with a raised eyebrow with some disbelief in her voice, "You skipped ahead? So, you are younger than me?"

*Rustle*

Hearing the sounds of the rustling of the woods as a group of Beowolves are upon them…

~Jack POV~

Well, this has been certainly an interesting development.

Meeting up with Pyrrha has worked as we both talked as we both manage to walk around the forest evading Grimm or other students.

But knowing the knack of trouble those two will have…

Nah.

The two of them will be fine.

When we were walking around, I open up my Scroll having the map of the Emerald Forest at the ready Pyrrha took a glance as she spoke to me, "Oh? Seems like you have a signal on the map of the Emerald forest. I tried to look mine up, but the services are down."

Services down?

Taking my time to look at my Scroll I saw that my service here is down but I'm looking through the photo gallery on my Scroll as I corrected Pyrrha, "Uh… no PN. I happen to take a picture when Oz and Goodwitch showed it on the Bullhead. There was no rule for us to take a picture of the map since I kind of guess they won't allow it to be that easy for the students."

While I talked to Pyrrha she caught up on the nickname as she spoke to me confused, "Oh… wait PN?"

Turning my head towards her I answered with a shrug as I spoke out, "Yeah nickname? What you don't like it? I could stop if it's annoying."

Pyrrha immediately got embarrassed as I smirk seeing her cheeks color red as she spoke, "Wah! No, I mean well… I just haven't been given a nickname from an ally before."

Grinning at this lightly as I spoke out more happily to her, "Really? Welp good on me for giving you one."

Seeing Pyrrha just accepted my words with a more genuine tone in her voice as she talked to me, "Hehe. I don't know mister maybe I'll give you one myself."

Smirking a bit happy that I got partnered up with Pyrrha I guess it was a good choice to tag team up with her after all.

With that, we both began to look for a way out using my map –

"Grr…"

*BANG*

And there goes my schedule.

Welp time to save some fellow students –

"SCREEE!"

Huh?

Our heads turned around to see something coming hard and scorpion at us.

I thought my LUCK will help out to not encounter a Deathstalker…

But… with me and Pyrrha taking on a thing that was meant for a four-person team along with the fact that I'm not sure we can take it on with my strength…

Then it's time for plan B.

RUN AWAY!

I and Pyrrha ran away from the Deathstalker seeing that we can't do it alone, but I can stall it.

<Aura Trapping>.

*SHIII*

A shining royal blue color surrounded the Deathstalker as we got ourselves a head start but not before hearing a screeching roar behind us as it struggles through to get after us.

"SCREEEEE…!"

Yup.

It is pissed off.
