He turned around as his eyes met hers.
"Red?"
"Hello." He said to Yang.
The gauntlets on her hands turned into weapons. Although impressive, he wondered how much she'd have to pay after this.
After a double check, the victim looked very similar to one of the people he saw in the group of people she hung out with not long ago.
He wondered if it's some kind of tradition here.
The man groaned in pain and stood up. Blood dripped from his head.
Probably not. The man didn't look happy at all.
Silence began to prevail over the room. Its power increased the tension as quick footsteps took over.
"Take that bitch, his little friend, too." The man said and took out a cigarette.
Red scanned the room. His odds didn't look high at all.
Thankfully, they didn't have guns out. Just very large blades that would chop him to pieces.
Right now, he had nothing to defend himself with.
Two of the over a dozen guards went to take him on. He grabbed a few pieces of glass, ready to throw them out at maximum strength.
With some luck, he might be able to beat one with a large sword at the cost of most of his stamina, but two would require a great deal of luck.
The sounds of explosions in the distance assured him.
He threw out three pieces. One missed, the second almost hit one of them and the third embedded itself into his thighs.
The man just flinched before he followed his friend.
They didn't just have weapons; they were used to fighting and taking blows. Red used the stool as his shield, trying to force them out of reach.
Alas, the weapon's sharpness chopped the stools in a few swings.
Not to mention the force.
He also had to be ready in case the bartender did something.
Their brains also worked a bit too well, blocking any options of retreat, slowly forcing him into a corner.
The number of stools began to dwindle and the man smoking a cigarette made a move. A gun appeared in his hand and aimed at Red.
"Trash." He said before pulling the trigger twice.
The second pull welcomed a third shot. Red felt the explosion hit him as he got blasted away, followed by a stinging pain near his abdomen.
Time got distorted as he fought off the dizzy feeling.
…
She felt the guts inside her curl up. The dust settled as she searched all over the place.
Few meters away. She saw his limp body, trying to get up.
"Hang on!" She said and picked him up like a princess.
His body bled and didn't respond to anything she said. He barely twitched as if his body wanted to do something.
She could never imagine that her casual day would turn out like this.
Sure, she fooled around with guys, but no one dared to molest her and threaten her straightaway. The moment he touched her hair, she exploded.
And this was the result.
She had to get to the doctor. If she trained a bit harder, then maybe she'd be able to awaken his aura and stabilize his condition.
Her body never moved so fast.
In no time, she appeared near the entrance.
A blockade of men stood between her and a way out. Bullets like raindrops flew towards her, forcing her to back off.
She couldn't even move properly.
Yang tried to hold him with one hand and made a couple of shots with her other.
Red blood stained her hair. Her anxiety increased tenfold. She didn't know what to do at all.
Now he started coughing up blood. How much time did he have? How serious his wounds were? These topics she remembered faintly studying, yet now she couldn't remember anything.
The second she wanted to explode, her body froze.
"Right, anger doesn't solve this. Think, think." She said to herself.
One wrong move and he'd actually die.
Yang laid him on the ground, gasping for breath to recover. She noticed a small map on the wall.
Emergency exit on the other side of the building.
Right now, she couldn't break through the blockade whilst ensuring his safety.
She didn't waste anymore time and blasted the ceiling several times. Pieces of concrete buried the entrance while she picked up Red carefully and ran into the back.
A few enemies appeared in the back, wielding swords. In this enclosed space, each shot could end his life sooner.
Alerted by her presence, more appeared in the back, now equipped with guns. Using her two legs, she closed in on her enemy, double kicking him in the chest and then the chin.
Closed in, she kneed one and ran past the third.
The enemies in the back already had their aim ready. In a flash, she kicked up a table and kicked it over with as much strength as she could muster.
She felt his blood dripping and soaking her dress.
The table smashed into them, blocking their sight and blasting two into the wall. By the time they got rid of the table, Yang appeared and gave them a roundhouse kick.
Finally, the emergency doors appeared before her eyes, kicked open. The entire place was surrounded as well.
Left with no other option. She scanned her surroundings before dashing back. Hails of bullets followed her closely, draining her own aura.
To her relief, none hit Red.
She found a relatively safe and hidden spot.
Yang laid down Red and wanted to bandage his wounds with his clothes, at least. Alas, they didn't give her anymore time.
The footsteps drew closer. Her hair exploded and her eyes turned crimson.
The first one who came in found himself embedded in a wall a dozen meters away, his breath leaving his own body.
Her fist blasted the entire door, taking a dozen with it, followed by shotgun blasts lighting up the street. Explosions rained havoc, injuring everyone.
With her magazine gone, she reloaded and blasted herself forward.
Each punch and kick took one man down. In a minute, she managed to blast through over fifty men.
One sigh later, her hair stopped burning and her eyes regained her original color.

"You are one feisty bitch, aren't you?" A man asked behind her.
Her eyes widened.
"YOU TOUCH HIM AND YOU ARE DEAD!" she said, while her eyes turned crimson.
"Now, now, calm down. You wouldn't want your friend to get a piece of my mind reaaally deep inside his head, would you?" He asked with a smile.
Aura, the way she blasted him before, should have broken a few bones inside his body, yet he walked here like nothing happened. Not only did he not bother to interfere when she fought his subordinates, but he also enjoyed it.
He showed her two fingers.
"One, he gets a piece of my mind and you try to keep me here. Two, you come with me and I'll ensure he'll live." He said and shot a bullet that grazed her face.
"Want to try?" He asked and shot once more, this time it grazed the other side of her face.
She could barely react to the speed of the weapon.
"What do you want?!" she asked.
"Good girl, maybe you aren't a bitch yet. Throw me those gauntlets and don't try anything or he'll get it. This baby has more than 9 bullets in the magazine."
Yang did as he said.
"Hurry up!" She reminded him.
He shrugged and kicked the gauntlets away.
"Lay down."
"Do you know how much that hurt? I'm tempted to just throw you to my cupcake, but that would be a waste, wouldn't it?" He approached her step by step with Red in his hands.
An impact knocked her breath out.
"How did you like that?" He asked, twisting his foot on her hair.
She just stared at him. Her mind was a mess, with only one thing keeping her from exploding.
"See, you can be very obedient." He said and kicked her again. Yellow light slowly dissipated her aura.
"Say, isn't your aura a bit too weak to be a huntress? Don't worry, I'll teach you something much better and the thrill will make sure you won't be able to walk for days after." He said with a small and dropped Red onto the ground.
For his amusement, he kicked her again. Her body rolled a few meters away, she laid there limp.
He walked near, taking out a phone, and with a smile, dialed a number.
"Hey, it's do-"
BOOM
His face exploded as his body got thrown like a rag doll.
"How- "He tried to ask just to receive a blow to his guts. The ground below him shattered to pieces.
Another blow broke his aura, and the third made a crisp. She sound, earning a bloodcurdling sound.
She didn't wait to confirm his situation. Red still kept bleeding, she tore off a few pieces of her clothes and quickly bandaged them.
Ignoring her own pain. The ambulance would never arrive in time.
Yang jumped onto her bike, bringing Red and praying in her heart.
"Please, hang on."
