Disappointed

"welcome, honorable ladies and gentlemen" The Mc started "I know you all are both busy men and women so we should not waste your time. We will start immediately. Let's open the bidding for the  oil refinery company with 10million pounds, who say better?"  then boards started to raise in the room. Dahlia waited for everyone to make their offer which had reached 15million before she raised her board.

" 17" she then said.

"17,1" someone said, shocking people in the room. Who would have made such and offer? When they looked on the side the saw him. Eder Galann he was looking at her with a little smile. She knew who he was and she refused to loose against him. So she raised her board again.

"20" she said

"20,1"  he said again. Dahlia still remained calm.

"30,5" she said

"30,6" he said again.That man really wanted to get on her nerve but she wouldn't let him.

"80" by that time people in the place were all shocked.It was now clear that this was just a plain power struggle.

None of them were insane enough to pay 80 millions for such a company. The company was on the verge of bankruptcy as it last owner was charged for wrong deeds. However, with the right people at its head ans skills it could flow again. But no one wanted to spend so much. No one between the people present were stupid enough to continue. It had long far exceeded their budget. Now they could only watch.

"well, I think, Mr Galann and Ms Quinn really wants to win." the MC said with an awkward chuckle "So we will proceed to another way" the MC said. "the coin. If you would like to walk forth please?" he called them. Dahlia walked forward and so did Eder. He towered over her but she wasn't the list bit deterred by his height. They looked at each other's eyes until the MC came forth and brought out a coin from his pocket.

"which side do you choose miss?" he asked Dahlia first.

"head" she choose. The man nodded. He placed the coin on his thumb and pointer and then flicked it up. Everyone held their  breath as they waited for the coin to fall. Dahlia had her gaze fixed on that of the man standing tall before her. The MC moved out of the way and the coin fell on the floor. Then suddenly something totally unexpected happened.

The room which held like 20 high ranked people from the business world was utterly silent and everyone held their breath as they watched the weird turn of events. When the MC announced that they would use a coin, people found that it was a better way to choose and subconsciously took part for who they would want to win. When the coin was tossed in the air everyone held their breath and watched it raise high in the air. It as like a slow motion movie. When the coin was contented with flicking upwards, it answered the call of gravity and started falling. When it reached the ground, something totally unexpected happened.

The coin fell straight on its width. Neither head nor tail it stood straight at Dahlia's high heeled  and Eder's fine booted feet. A gasp from the onlookers was followed by murmurs. Eder looked up at Dahlia to see her reaction but her eyes were glued to the coin as if with the force of her gaze she would make it fall, however, the coin stood unmoving, steady and firm as if imposing its answer.

"seems like we are going to be partners" he said looking down at her, gaining her attention. She raised her eyelid and looked up at him with a look that gave him those shivers again. She did not say anything and looked at the MC.

The man had never seen something like that. The use of the coin was not usual. It was just something they did in extremely tight situation like this one. Now he turned to them with a polite smile he told them

"please seat, miss And Mr. I will take the word from the government representatives and lawyers. Give me a while" he excused himself and followed the men in another room. Eder and Dahlia went to seat at their respective places and listened to the whispers that filled the place.

Freya did not disturb her sister about what just happened. She knew better than to disturb her sister when she was thinking. She decided they would comment it later, for the main time she listened to the comments in the place.

Meanwhile, the pretty brunette who came with Eder was busy making nosy comments.

"what is the meaning of this?" she asked

"probably that we will be partner"

"you will be partner with this woman?" the woman said eyeing Dahlia with a disgusted look. Eder knew it was just jealousy speaking and normally he would have shrugged it but this time he did not like it.

"well, I could use a sexy partner" he said and the woman glared at him.

"don't you dare, do that to me" he raised a brow at her.

"do what, Anna?" he asked sternly. They were just sex friends. Anna Mills was the most detached of his mistresses that was why he liked to take her around. It benefited her as she appeared as his favorite but it stopped their and he needed to remind her that she was nothing more than just his bed warmer.

The Anna gulped when she saw the look in his eyes. She knew that she better take a hold of herself.

"sorry" she said bitterly. She could not believe that Eder was talking like that to her because she badmouthed that woman. He never cared before. But well, she was his favorite she should not get in trouble because this woman. She tilted her head slightly and watched the woman form afar. Dahlia had her head turned away from them she was talking with her sister. Another snob! Ughh! She looked away from them and her gaze fell on the coin that was still standing on the floor and narrowed her eyes.
