It Is About The Humans

In the Sandulf settlement, Salome had dragged Beowulf into the tent. She knew that if she didn't, he would follow Antonio and the rest and that wouldn't end up well. No one knew what the Sandulf sons had gone for -- except her. Salome wondered if she should open her mouth to spit what she knows about the attack on Beowulf that night and what Antonio was up to.

"It is nothing, Salome..." Beowulf said as his twin tried to look for injuries that might've come from the fight with Antonio. "You said you knew where they were going to," Beowulf stated as he was slowly growing impatient with Salome withholding what she knew.

"I wonder why you do not try to prevent a brawl between you and Antonio," Salome said subtly trying to get her brother's mind off the situation at hand. With the recent development of Beowulf probably having a human as a mate, the news that he wanted to hear could cause real troubles - and Salome didn't want that for her dear twin.

Beowulf squinted his eyes a little as he stared at Salome. He knew his sister better than anyone and he also knew that she was stalling in telling him what Antonio, Marmin, and Klyn were up to. Beowulf could feel it in his guts that whatever his brothers had gone out for that night was not something good or positively productive. Yet, he submitted to her and decided to go on with the conversation and her weak attempt to distract him.

"He always thinks he can intimidate me,' Beowulf replied as he paced from one end of his tent to the other leaving Salome following his every movement with her eyes. "And I am never going to give him that pleasure," Beowulf confessed. "It's not like he can overpower me so I don't know what you are worried about, Salo... Just tell me what I need to know, alright?"

It was why Beowulf spent most of his time alone -- painting and training. He had speed and agility that his brothers didn't have. Because of his size, Beowulf could maneuver around his bigger brothers during a fight and this infuriated them a whole lot -- even his father. He was smaller than they were but could use it to his advantage to the fullest -- even when they were changed and were at their pure werewolf form.

Salome Sandulf cleared her throat and her brows creased. She was about to speak when she cleared her throat again which was weird. The words were heavy for her to say and it was as if they were beginning to clench her throat.

"What is the matter?" Beowulf asked as his uneasiness grew more. Something within was telling him that what he was about to hear was something that would affect him directly.

"It is about the humans," Salome said finally after several seconds of gathering her thoughts and arranging her words. She watched Beowulf closely after she had uttered that statement.

Beowulf glazed over for a second -- which was bizarre. Even he could not understand why the news he had just heard from Salome had such an effect on him.

"W-What happened with the hu-humans?"

"I don't-" Salome began but stopped midsentence as she didn't want to lie to Beowulf. "I think they're planning an attack on the humans."

"But..." Beowulf trailed off. What was his father planning? He knew that Antonio, Marmin, and Klyn dared not act on their own without orders from the alpha of their pack --but to what end was what plagued Beowulf's mind.

The next moment, Beowulf felt unease as he found himself intensely disturbed about what his brothers were about to do to the humans. Suddenly, he felt concerned.

"I'm leaving, "Beowulf said as he turned around and with neck-breaking speed, was already at the entrance of his tent. He had made a decision there and then to try and thwart whatever his brothers were planning. They and the humans had been living in peace since he was born -- and now this? It was one of the reasons Beowulf didn't like his father. Saku was going against the treaty he had signed with the humans many years ago -- the werewolf was not to be trusted.

Salome had to match up to his speed with hers as well so that she could catch up with her brother.

"Where do you think you are going to?"

"The human territory!" Beowulf replied in a voice that was unnatural.

This time, Salome didn't say anything as she noticed that Beowulf's emotions were pushing him to change -- and that told Salome a lot of things. One of them being the fact that her brother may just have found himself a human for a mate.

When would drama within the Sandulf pack end? It was always something with them -- always. Salome thought to herself as she watched her twin dash into the night.

Beowulf, on the other hand, could think of nothing else than the human girl he perceived earlier that day. He could not stomach the fact that she could be in danger at the hands of his brothers.

Some things confused him a little though --like how was it that he was so concerned about a stranger that he didn't even know -- and a human for that matter. How was it that he could not control his primal instinct to protect the human girl? All he could focus on was the human being alright and out of harm's way. At that point, Beowulf felt that if anything would happen to the human girl, he would not be able to live with himself. That was his conviction at that moment.

Beowulf knew that he was going to be a laughing stock when it would be known that his mate was a human. But then again, being laughed at and outcasted was something he wasn't alien to so he quickly dismissed that thought from his mind.

He increased his speed as he allowed the effect of the full moon to take over changing into the beast that he really was -- all fur -- long sharp canines -- and eyes that shone a bright gold. He was going to protect his mate.
