Chapter 110

After a minute, the laughter died down and the mood became quite sombre.

"It's good to see you're okay, girl," Lina said quietly. "I thought I was drastic but man, you should've seen your mom on Monday night. She was the living definition of the word, hysteria."

"Yeah, I can imagine," Cleo muttered to herself and shook her head. She did not want to talk about her mom. She wanted, no, needed to take her mind off their earlier conversation.

"Sooo, what's new in school? I don't think I ever want to come back but I'll admit, staying home alone is quite boring."

Lina shrugged. "Same old. Same old. Beatrice and Pat broke up. Oh, and there are rumours of a new girl in our class. Some Allison Nobody. We'll be seeing her on Monday apparently."

She nodded. "She may be fun, who knows?"

Lina guffawed. "People who claim to know her say that the last thing she is, is fun."

"Same people who called Ez the son of a Devil," Cleo mumbled.
