I hadn't realized I had let my tongue loose until I let the secret about Krista slip. I had gotten too emotional for my own good, and now Lisa was staring at me like I was a deceit. It was exceptionally bad that I had kept something like this away from her, and finding out in this exact situation was bad. With all the bad mental perception she had of me, adding a pathological liar to the list was definitely not looking good for me.

"Can we not talk about her now? It's best for both of us." I suggested, but that seemed to infuriate Lisa. She was only already over curious, and clearly didn't like being kept in suspense.

"You don't want to talk about it? If you had a mate why put me through all this? Why ruin my life?" Lisa questioned, her voice shaky as her anger slowly rose.

"Krista is not my mate! I never had one—"
