Nana and Mumin

Mumin Rider explained a lot to Nana so she was able to understand a little more about her current environment.

She had come to know that she was on a planet called Earth that was a part of a universe or dimension that she had never heard of before.

There existed many kinds of threats to humanity in the form of humans themselves, natural disasters, mutants, cyborgs, robots and different kinds of monsters or creatures that existed on Earth or visited from other planets.

The main powers that humans possessed came from training their bodies but many made up for their weaknesses through mastering certain martial arts or using equipment to aid them.

There were some among the humans that did possess power beyond ordinary humans and displayed superhuman capabilities.

Espers were among those with high psychic abilities while there were others that were naturally intelligent beyond most humans or possessed a strange body type.

Some may have mutated or may have been experimented on so that they could possess special abilities or take on the talents and physical qualities of other species or animals.

There were all kinds of threats out in the world and the ones to maintain order were the heroes.

The Hero Association was established in order to promote heroes and let the world know they were safe from the threats but it was also established to keep those heroes in check.

Fame and wealth was often a good motivation for most humans so there would be many that would be swayed by such things so that they could be easier to make use of or keep them from acting out of line.

Some S grade heroes had already reached a realm where it was difficult to control them but it was more beneficial for them to keep such a position than to be an enemy of humanity so it was more convenient for them to follow along with the rules of the Hero Association.

Mumin Rider was ranked as the number one hero in the C grade division so even if he was lower graded compared to other heroes and had to meet the usual quota for hero activities, he had been very active in his activities and faced off against many that were above his abilities.

His position was quite low but he was well loved and respected by people due to his constant efforts and his strong sense of justice that let him overcome his difficult challenges.

Nana lay on the floor with a blanket underneath her body and another over her which had been left out by Mumin Rider. 'From what he has said.. he will be busy again tomorrow even though he was just recently injured. Sigh.. how troublesome.'

Her eyes closed and she started to concentrate on the surroundings where there were some strange and unfamiliar traces of energy.

Some were very strong while others were very weak.

Some were gentle and harmless while others were more volatile and harmful.

Her senses could not pick up on the locations of those that were too far away but she could still faintly sense them.

The energies within her range of detection had been very few and they did not seem to be that pleasant.

She drifted off into a deep sleep until the next day came and she could hear noise that had been made by Mumin Rider who had woke up early.

Nana got dressed in her usual high class clothing that suited her status as a queen but she quickly came to a decision upon looking around bike store.

Several helmets, gloves and other protective cycling clothing were shown in different parts of the store.

Nana walked up to Mumin Rider and asked. "I am coming with you today.. but I cannot go out looking like this so I will try to pay you back if you can provide me something to wear."

Her appearance stood out and she did not wish to be treated as a dangerous creature like many others who were targeted by heroes or were reported by scared citizens which led to further problems.

Mumin Rider looked her up and down then nodded. "I guess we can figure something out."

He walked around the store and started to pick out several items but he was still diligent enough to make some notes of the prices of each one so that he could accurately keep a record of the how much she would have to pay back.

He may have been nice enough to take Nana in but he still had a business to keep running and could not just give things away otherwise his lifestyle would have been difficulty to support.

It may not have been a lot that she was using but they were still listed items that were a part of his store that had to be kept track of along with his finances so it would have shown up as something suspicious if some items disappeared without there being any payments.

He passed them over to Nana and then left her alone to get changed while he got changed into his hero costume.

He took out his bike and sat on it for a while until Nana had appeared and looked completely different.

The bike helmet had some parts cut so that her ears poked through the top and looked like accessories, a close fitting cycling outfit and jacket was on her body and a pair of bicycle goggles was worn over her face and body to hide most of her appearance.

A red scarf was wrapped around her neck and lower half of her face, she had some thick boots on and a pair of gloves.

Her overall appearance was like she was some kind of sidekick or cosplaying fan of Mumin Rider. "Let's go."

She stepped forward and jumped onto the back of the bike as the day of hero activities had begun for the both of them.
