The Usurper

Alaric looked over to where the guard pointed. On the horizon was an army of imperial forces. At least a dozen mechas, and he thought he could see the glimmer of reflected light off exosuit armor on most of the soldiers.

He made a quick decision, "bring all the guards and soldiers onto our left side and keep the caravan moving. Don't stop them for anything."

"Yes, your majesty."

The guard scampered off to password, while Eli and Sarah walked up to the front with Alaric. Luckily, Eli had his version four exosuit on and was currently the most powerful one here.

Sarah asked him, "how do you want to deal with this?"

Alaric thought for a moment, "I want to keep the caravan moving, even if the guards and we have to stay back. The people shouldn't be involved in this at all."

Eli spoke up, "because of our strength, we might be able to beat them back, but there will be casualties. There aren't enough of us to stop them from hurting the people."
