Days We Didn't See

It is a new day in the village and everyone is busy already. Trevor just got back up from sleep and he saw Emily sitting by his side, but then she woke up. "Oh, you're up early.", then she yawns. "Do you feel a little bit better now?", she asked.

"I'm feeling better actually, maybe it's the thing that I drink last night.", he answered but then he paused for a bit. "I keep on thinking this again and again since last night. But what really is going on? 'Cuz I saw horrifying things and thought that it was all just a nightmare but I'm still here and I can feel everything in my senses. What happened?", he asked her back.

"I think it's better for you to get ready for the day first. Take a shower then let's talk after we've eaten breakfast with everyone. I've gotten you some spare clothes while your clothes are being washed and dried.", she said.

"But... wait...", but then she already left the room. "I think there really is something going on that they don't want me to know, but I'm going to know nonetheless.", he thinks to himself. She went into the bathroom and took a shower.

While Trevor is taking a shower, Emily went outside and prepared a long table for everyone to sit and eat on. Then the Chief approaches, "Aren't you going overboard with all of this just for that man? Remember we still have a winter to keep an eye of and we don't have any food to hold a whole 'feast' like this.".

"You know doing things like this for once in a while can throw us away from the outside world and just eat all of us, all together, all at the same time, to start our day altogether.", she said. "On the other side, so that everyone will know our new friend who'll be staying with us.".

"How are you so sure that he'll want to stay here with us?", asked the guy that's approaching them.

"You know that there is no other place for him to go right? He'll know soon enough all about this hell that we are in.", Emily said.

Right after he's finished taking a shower. He went back to his room and put on the clothes that were being lent to him. As he picked it up, a folded paper falls to the ground. He picked the paper up then chills ran up his spine, he's stunned and not able to move, then he heard a rumbling voice. The atmosphere got heavier and heavier up until Emily suddenly knocked at the door. "Are you done?", she said.

But Trevor is quite hesitant to answer because of the sensation that he felt. "Ye-yeah, almost done.", he answered. The take his clothes on and walked outside. He saw everyone sitting in front of a long table and just waiting for him to go out. Then as he sits, he closed his eyes and started to pray. Everyone is quite confused about what he is doing, even makes the chief to ask Emily. "What is he doing?", he whispered

"He's praying.", she answered.

"Praying? What's that?", the guy asked.

"He's talking and giving thanks to the god, who created all things.", she answered.

"What 'god'? If there was a god, then I think he's already dead.", saith the chief.

"Be quiet for a second and let him finish.", Emily said.

"... in our savior's name, Amen.", Trevor finished. Everyone started eating right after he prays. When everyone's about done, the chief asked him. "Do you really still believe in that god of yours."

"Yes, why?", Trevor asked.

"Look, kid, I know you've seen already but this is a world where there is no law, it's complete anarchy. Even the commandments of your god are not gonna save anybody. In a world where there are no restrictions all possibilities are endless.", he said. After hearing that Emily makes everyone except the elder and the guy to finish their breakfast so that they can start to talk about what is actually going on.

When everyone is back to what they were doing and right after they are done eating and cleaning. The Chief invited Trevor and the others to his house. They closed the windows and locked the doors. "What's going on? Why do we need to talk so privately?", Trevor asked.

"I know... we know, that you'll be asking so many questions. So as much as possible, we are avoiding the village folk to know what we were talking about.", Emily answered.

"Why all the secrecy?".

"It's for their own good.", she said.

"First of all, what do you mean by saying that... there are no laws, complete anarchy? What does it all mean? And now that I think about it, what happened to you? What happened to the world in general?" he asked Emily and the Chief.

"I know that you're going to ask that. But first, don't you want to know who we are?", asked the chief.

"Right, I still don't know who you guys are. I'm Trevor... Trevor Flores."

"Kid, surnames are nothing but a waste of spit in this world. My name is Jacob, that guy is Near, old Hisho the elder of the village, and I know you already know... Emily.", the chief said. "Now for your question, I'm not the one who's going to tell you all that has happened. You may not believe me so I'll let Emily tell the history since she's been out here for quite a few time now.".

Emily stepped up and starts to tell what happened in the days that went by.

"All of the things that I'll be telling you are the same thing that they told me together with all the other things I've seen so far. Apparently it all started from right after the incident that after we are taken in the facility..."

"Incident?", Trevor asked.

"Don't you remember anything about what happened. We are all taken by the military to the facility to take shelter?"

"I don't remember being taken in a facility... wait... don't tell me that the facility you're talking about is the one where I saw all those dead bodies."

"That is the facility. But you do remember being taken by the military right?"

"Yes, I do remember but vaguely."

"Right, now let's continue. Right after we took in or even before that the nation was already in a very serious state of emergency, not just our nation but the whole world in general. All of the armed forces all around the world are fighting against the 'thing' that up to this day is still unknown, but in a tragic way, everything has failed. All forces have fallen in a blink of an eye all at the same time. Right after that all leaders, and powers suddenly vanished as well. Kings, queens, presidents, prime ministers, all of them are gone without a trace and because of that, the world fell into chaos for 84 years up to this day..."

"Wait... 84 years? How was that even possible?", Trevor asked.

"Do you remember the capsule you were in before?",

"Yeah..."

"That was a plot by the government to save it's at least some civilians from what is going on by preserving them for at least some years but it lasted far too long than expected, as Dr. Santiago said.",

"So you're saying that I was sleeping for 84 years straight?"

"Yes. Continuing... now because of the things that happened like I just said. All of the chaos broke out and all the hidden and secret organizations came out of hiding taking advantage of the catastrophe that was happening. The Illuminati, Mason, and other secret organizations together with different cults and brotherhood. Because there are no rules they were able to do what they want, stealing everything they see, taking advantages of the living survivors, slavery, none sensical killings, all of the horrifying things that you can imagine in a world with no restrictions, it's purge all over the world.

But years later two of the most powerful organizations the Illuminati and the Masons started an agreement by splitting the world into two and converting all the other organizations under their power after that they all changed their names. They are the two most powerful organizations in the world right now the Alpha Illumitaticus, and the Covenant of Masonries. All the organizations under the other's territory are forced into joining their alliance and those who make it are always under their protections.

But we all know that there was always a catch, in a world where no one is stopping you there really is so many things to expect in return like...", but then she suddenly started gasping and holding her chest as it tightens.

"Emily!", saith the chief and Trevor.

"Hey! What's wrong? Are you ok?", Trevor asked her.

"Near quick! Go get some water.", the chief said to Near. He rushed out to get some water.

Trevor tries to approach her but she stopped him from getting closer, "Don't worry about... me, it's just that... I... must have done... something wrong with... my breathing... there. I'm... fine...."

"Are you sure? You really don't seem like it.", Trevor said emphatically

"Yeah, I'm... fine... I just... need to... sit... for a bit...",

"But...",

"I said I'm fine! Don't you understand?!", she shouted very angrily.

The chief holds her down as Near came back with a glass of water. Then the chief pour some water on his finger and placed in on her forehead. "Hey kid, calm down and breathe slowly. I'm gonna take it all from here, you've said enough already. Just sit there and rest for a bit.". As he was about to walk away, Emily grabbed his arm and said, "No, I have to do it."

"Are you sure?", the chief asked.

"Yes, I'm sure.", she stood up again and walked towards Trevor. "I'm sorry for shouting at you. I never mean to do that."

"No, I'm sorry for being stubborn. I should have been more sensitive."

"Now all that is done, I shall continue what I was saying. So... the split has been done and the world is now in two different factions and this all happened in the first two decades after the incident. Many oppose the two powers but because of their high influence over people they were never halted, some that opposed are executed publicly, some are tortured every day, some are kept alive but with a part of them missing, making most of the opposers surrender to them and was made their subordinate and now almost everything that they do is always under the name of one or the other. Making them do anything they want with nothing to be afraid of.

By the first years since the alliance inside the 'powers' are made, all communities that survived are destroyed, and every single one are killed mercilessly. Taking ownership of the land that no one can own anymore except the powers, in this place where we are, is under the territory of the Covenant, but since the raid has been going on for quite a while the 'power' stopped ordering the raid. But since no one takes any order from this world, some continued on raiding for resources and other things since they were under the protection of the 'powers'. The Raids that was ordered stood up to 15 years. Then others just continued doing it and are still continuing up until now.

Another side note, this village is only some kilometers away from the border of the two 'powers' and in between them is the facility. Making this place one of the most dangerous locations to be at..."

"If that so, then what are we still doing here in the first place?"

"It's because of my father.", saith the chief. "He once became the councilor for the Covenant for he knows what is in the facility. That's why they can never lay a hand on us as long as I have this medallion of an oath, but they will never protect us either so... we really are on the neutral side of things making us so vulnerable in many ways."

"Another thing that I want to know is what is this 'facility' and why are there so many dead bodies all around when I saw them there?"
