Beginning

In a ruined building surrounded by a dark and eerie atmosphere a culture vat suddenly opened, the chemical that it contained spilled on the floor creating noise but the sound of pouring water can never attract anyone since it was a natural thing but the problem was once the chemical touched the ground it immediately started melting it.

"Ughhh..." A hoarse voice of a male teenager who seems to have just woken up on the wrong side of the bed filled the room.

"Where, in Hades, am I?" The teen asked no one in particular as he inspected the room he was in, if he had to comment on the appearance he would most likely say destroyed or ruined laboratory.

The teenager stepped out of his culture vat unsteady about his footing and strange enough the corrosive chemical didn't even pose any danger to him much less burn his skin.

"Ccolddd..." The teen shuddered as he found out that he wasn't wearing any article of clothing so he went around the room searching for something to wear.

He soon found a locker that is only slightly taller than him with a hand scanner, being the curious guy he was, he placed his hand on top of it which made it open.

Inside of the locker were clothes which consisted of a black jacket with red and blue patches with a design that made it look futuristic but because of the gears it made it look steam punk, a black shirt, fingerless gloves with red ends with a blue arc on top of the gloves, black pants with red patches that are weirdly sewn together, underwear, white socks, and lastly black rubber shoes.

"Weird design but if it works then it's fine" the teen said out loud as he dressed himself up.

Once he finished he accidentally glanced at the door of the locker which had a near full body length and height, there he saw himself but also not quite, he still has black hair but there are a bunch of Dark Red ones that conjugate at the edges, his eyes are no longer the hazelnut brown but a light blue. Now that he took a look at himself, his body seems to be quite frail as there were no fats nor much muscle that can be found through the naked eye, he shrugged as to signify him not caring about it the slightest bit.

He went towards the culture vat where he was sleeping in and on the way saw many culture vats that had exploded, shards of glass littering the surrounding then finally when he arrived he saw the now melted floor of the culture vat where he awoke from. Upon closer inspection it seems to have been powered until it broke down and ejected him, it was quite evident from the heat still emanating from it. He once again looked at the front where he saw a metal plate with some letters and numbers.

"Hrd-873" the teen muttered then he noticed two other culture vats that were also filled with the same chemicals then one of them opened and revealed a child version of him but his eyes looked soulless. The kid him tried to stand up but saw his own feet had already melted into a pool of goo.

The sight gave chills down his spine as he continued to watch the kid version of himself melt.

He then went towards the culture vat where the kid him came from and saw the exact same metal plate but with different numbers and letters from himself.

"Oao-56?" The teen wanted to laugh at the name but he soon remembered what had just happened so he couldn't do it.

"Alright since the metal plate on my culture vat doesn't have a single vowel I will take your name and combine it with mine so this way you can still live on in spirit!" The teen said as he just casually added the letters and got "Horado" as his name.

The teen who had named himself as Horado went ahead and checked the other culture vat and touched it, once he did his hands felt that it would break off at any moment due to the low temperature and he highly doubted that he would have been aware of the ice until it was too late if he wasn't being boiled before he awoke.

[Project Aisha-279's device doesn't have enough power to maintain life support and with her current stage of development she would most likely die as well] a robotic voice announced while Horado wanted to curse at the announcer for even giving the trouble of using blinking red lights instead of using the electricity used for such in order to save the supposed girl in the culture vat.

[Time remaining before all electricity is used up: thirty minutes] it announced.

Horado wasn't a Saint, that much he knew but the thought not being able to save someone who is still clueless about the world didn't sit right with him so he went outside of the building in order to search for batteries or a generator.

"Well hot damn... I think this is the Era of an apocalypse" Horado muttered as he saw countless cars littering the street, buildings with shattered glass with missing huge chunks, piles of bones of humans or at the very least he assumed along with that of beasts but are much bigger than what was inside his memories.

"Find some batteries first" Horado got his priorities right and went to the nearest car which was thankfully still intact but a problem came up, he didn't know how to extract the batteries of such a car as it was vastly different from the ones in his memories.

Firstly the car still looked like it could function which he easily deduced once he saw something that resembled a bar with a flashing green light. Second the cars in his memories had wheels and ran on gasoline but the one in front of him doesn't have such functions.

Horado wanted to give up but he once again felt guilty so he started knocking on the car.

[The batteries of the car had been fully charged via solar energy] The car spoke then a box started to rise from it's hood which contained a little disk like battery that he was more than familiar with as one battery according to his memories could fuel a medium sized state for more than a hundred years.

[Scan complete]

[Scan results: Various parts of the car have been damaged and any further movement of the engine is impossible]

[Found a living human, extracting the battery charger and the batteries in order to help the human in the currentsituation] the car continued as a box detached from it along with ten batteries coming out from various places of the car.

Horado took them all and went back inside his "base" in a hurry without caring about the intentions of the AI of the car as he needed to supply electricity to the culture vat in order to save someone.

"How naive of him to not look around his surroundings during the apocalypse" a silhouette of a man said then started laughing at Horado's naivety.
