12 Unexpected Twist
Lucia fell to the ground unconscious, her hair is untangled as she lies helplessly on the ground.
Looking at Lucia rudy mumbles, 'This is going to be annoying'
Rudy decided to carry Lucia on his back while slowly walking down the cave wall hoping to see the light at the other end of the cave.
Actually, Rudy is strong enough to carry Lucia, but, carrying Lucia who is unconscious while groping the rough and wet cave wall in a dark place because of an unknown reason is not a pleasant thing even though Rudy is able to.
Nevertheless, Rudy didn't want to complain, well even if he complains loudly nobody is listening in this deserted place.
Lucia's head rest on Rudy's left shoulder, the wind blows her hair once in a while obstructing Rudy's vision.
After ten minutes of walking with extreme care to avoid making the stalactite in the cave falling, Rudy finally arrives at the mouth of the cave.
Rudy's eyes shine like a starving kid that sees bread, Rudy inhales a long breath and glances at Lucia who is still unconscious on Rudy's shoulder.
After exiting the cave, Rudy just realizes that there is a scar all over Lucia's hand as if she's struck by lightning but instead of white-bluish color, it is pitch black as if the veins on her hands pop-out tied by black roots.
'She probably makes a contract with a troublesome spirit', Rudy thought, but at least Rudy is thankful that he is carrying an unconscious Lucia, not a corpse.
Before going back towards the assembly, Rudy looks at the way back.
On a slope near the mountainside, the ground is muddy as well as rocky, If someone falls and hits the ground, no doubt they will have their head crushed.
While looking at the way back Rudy thinks, 'I need twenty minutes if I run, It's not possible to run with Lucia on my back, maybe I will get there in forty minutes if I fast walk'
Under the clouded sky that spits lightning and thunder Rudy walks down the slope.
Lucia is moving once in a while on Rudy's back, 'Is she going to wake up soon?' Rudy thought.
Just as Rudy thinks that Lucia will wake up, Rudy feels an ominous aura and suddenly he feels something wrap around his neck.
Awwkk!
Lucia strangled Rudy's neck with much pressure making Rudy gasp for air.
"What the hell LUCIA!! Stop!!" Rudy put his hand between Lucia's arm and his neck and put pressure into it to take some air.
After getting some space on his neck, Rudy twists his body and elbowed Lucia's stomach making Lucia loosen her grip, Rudy then push Lucia's body away to make some space.
Rudy looks in Lucia's direction while rubbing his neck,
Crazed eyes greet Rudy when he looks at Lucia, the untangle hair covers one of Lucia's eyes making her looks scary, an evil smirk crack on Lucia's face making Rudy think that Lucia is possessed.
"WHO ARE YOU?! You're not Lucia!" asks Rudy shouting.
A little chuckle comes out of Lucia as she smirks while emitting her bloodlust that suffocates Rudy.
'Xaraks what's happening to her?!' Rudy asks as he put on his fighting stance waiting for Lucia's move.
'She's not her usual self' replied Xaraks flatly
Rudy rebutted, 'Duh, I know that stop messing around'
Xaraks chuckles, 'Her will is not strong enough to contain the evil spirit, making her possessed by the spirit she's in contract with. You should knock her out if you want to save her, but personally, I would rather devour her'
Rudy ignores Xaraks as he already expected the answer, he then focuses on the fight with Lucia by putting on his guard.
Just as Rudy focuses on Lucia, Lucia dashes towards the right vanishing in the trees.
'What the? She's so fast even for me!' Rudy exclaims inwardly, surprised by Lucia's speed that surpasses even him.
Rudy glance right and left trying to locate Lucia,
The rain started to get heavier, making it harder for Rudy to detect Lucia's movement.
BAAM!
From the corner of Rudy's right eye, he saw a red flash that is too fast to catch with the naked eye and hit Rudy's shoulder.
"Arghh!" Rudy grunt in pain, he looks at his shoulder to only find a gaping hole that bleeds.
Rudy is in a disadvantageous position, he is in the middle of an empty field, in other words, he is exposed as a little harmless rabbit under the mercy of a hunter.
With a dash, Rudy hides towards the nearby tree to at least take cover from Lucia.
Rudy leans on the tree, 'I have to find her, her spirit is probably good at long-range, I need to engage in a close quarter combat' He peaks to find Lucia's location.
His vision is blurry because of the rain, then an idea came to mind, 'If I can't see clearly in this terrain, then doesn't that applies to her as well?'
Just as Rudy was thinking,
BAAM!
Another red flash grazed Rudy's face as he was peaking.
'How did she see me? based on the sound, she's probably twenty-five meters away from me' thought Rudy while he started to jump, dash, and duck trying to avoid Lucia's shot.
While running, he saw a glimpse of Lucia holding a long black weapon in her hand that resembles a sniper!
Rudy realizes that somehow Lucia can find his location despite the raining terrain, 'How did she find me? Is it a skill or?' just as Rudy racks his brain to find the answer, Rudy notices a red string attached to his injured shoulder.
Rudy widened his eyes in realization as he pulls out the red strings from his shoulder and started to test it to see if it works.
After pulling the red string, Lucia didn't shoot a single bullet. After knowing that it works, Rudy smirks.
Rudy smirking face then turns into a frown, 'If she stops shooting then I can't locate her location'
Out of nowhere, Xaraks said, 'I think I know the spirit inside her'
Hearing this, Rudy smile in delight, 'Really? Who is it? Tell me!'
'He is from the Gold Devil Clan, he is the best marksmen of the clan known as Arekagg. I know him because he's quite rowdy and famous. He's very prideful, just walk up to him and confront him, He's weak in close-quarter' replied Xaraks with a clear annoyance in its tone.
Hearing this Rudy decided to get out of his hiding spot after assessing that Arekagg is probably not as strong as Xaraks but faster, so if Rudy can grab Lucia it's game over.
Walking up with a puffed chest although he is hurting Rudy shouted, "AREKAGG!! Face me!! with your baby aim, I doubt you can kill me even in a hundred years!"
Not long after, a figure emerges from the woods.
The spirit who possessed Lucia has a distorted expression on its face, "YOU PUNY HUMANS!"
With a dash, Arekagg arrives in front of Rudy in a flash.
Arekagg pulls out a knife made of dark elements and slashes it vertically towards Rudy with much ferocity.
After hearing that Xaraks emphasized the word 'Weak at close-quarter', Rudy decided to block Arekagg's attack by parrying with his hand.
CRACK!
Rudy's hand and Arekagg's hand makes a cracking sound when it connects with Arekagg's hand, 'What the fuck?! Xaraks you said that he's weak!'
'You can withstand that attack because of you're enhanced physique, I thought your hand will break because I forgot to tell you that he's in control over Lucia, so he can use greater power than I can where you are in control. He probably has the same strength as a level six Bintara rank.' Xaraks replied nonchalantly.
'FUCK YOU!' Replied Rudy in annoyance.
Rudy is pushed back by Arekagg attacks, but so did Arekagg.
Rudy decided to take control of the fight, He dashes and landed a sweep on Arekagg's leg making Arekagg fall to the ground.
After Arekagg falls, Rudy swiftly follows up with a punch on Arekagg's stomach.
BAM!
Arekagg throws a mouthful of blood as the punch land solidly on his stomach.
The punch proves to be effective as Arekagg stands up with great difficulty, Arekagg can't even stand properly because of the wet ground that makes him slip once at a time.
Arekagg's body proves to be weak although he can give off the same strength as Rudy, his body cannot sustain a solid punch from Rudy.
Looking at this, Rudy decided to end this fight.
Arekagg looks towards Rudy's eyes then suddenly Rudy's eyes flash with a flash of red lightning that stuns him.
Rudy dashes in to close the space, in a glimpse, he appears at the back of Arekagg and delivers a karate chop on Arekagg's back.
Arekagg can only watch as Rudy closes in and deliver the chop as his vision become blurry.
As Arekagg falls, Rudy falls to his knees and caught the falling 'Lucia'.
Rudy then slowly put Lucia's down, he exhales exhaustedly after experiencing the battle.
Rudy suffers many injuries as he limps to the ground when suddenly he saw a pair of red eyes gazing at him from his front.
The red eyes walk slowly revealing its huge muscular body that is way bigger than Rudy's, its eyes are filled with killing intent, with fangs that come out of its mouth dripping with red saliva that is mixed with blood, its long fierce claw and its grey furry body that looks scary alarming Rudy's senses.
Rudy looks at it hopelessly and thought,
'Fuck.'
