Chapter 5: Miralasur Boon.

After a few days,

Following Rudra's birth,

Gayathri resigned from her job as a professor to take care of him.

She became very strict when someone handled Rudra, and her mood would drastically change when she interacted with him.

The family went to the Palani Murugan (Karthikeya) temple to fulfill the offering that Shankar's mother had prayed for, to ensure Rudra's safety.

Upon arriving at Palani, the family climbed the steps of the Palani mountain to reach the temple at the top.

All the family members took turns holding Rudra, while Vinayak took pictures of Rudra's adorable expressions.

"Rudra, look here... look..." Abhinaya, who was currently holding Rudra, doted on him and took a picture.

"Let's rest for a while," Nandhan, looking tired, pointed to the stone slabs under the trees.

"Yeah, let's rest," Chandrakanth walked over to the stone slabs, sat down, and started massaging his legs.

Shankar held Rudra in his arms, sat on one of the stone slabs, and admired the scenery around him.

Suddenly, his eyes were drawn to three peacocks lying on the ground under the shade of a tree, while tourists and devotees took pictures of them.

"Wow... uh... wow..."

When Rudra's beautiful eyes caught sight of the peacocks, he became attracted to them and started babbling in his baby language, which looked incredibly cute.

Vinayak didn't miss the chance and captured a few shots of the moment.

Gayathri took Rudra from Shankar's arms, complaining that he didn't hold Rudra properly, and started soothing him.

Suddenly, the peacocks noticed the sound and turned to look at Rudra, who was gazing at them with innocent, beautiful eyes.

Gradually, the peacocks felt a sense of familiarity when they looked at Rudra. They were somehow drawn to him and slowly started moving towards him.

Unaware of this, the family enjoyed the food they had brought with them and continued eating.

"Crew... crew..."

Suddenly, Gayathri, who was feeding Rudra, heard a high-pitched peacock call from behind her.

Confused, she turned her head to locate the source of the sound, and when she spotted it, her eyes widened in surprise.

"Huh..."

As the rest of the family looked at the scene after hearing Gayathri's surprised reaction, the peacocks continued to approach Rudra with interest. Shankar got up and walked over to Gayathri.

Though peacocks were beautiful and not hostile toward humans, they typically did not allow anyone to touch them. However, they were now getting close to Rudra and even allowed him to pat their heads.

Witnessing this scene, many tourists took pictures in awe.

As Rudra watched the peacocks dance, he started giggling and making cute sounds, trying to communicate in his baby voice.

"Do you see, Shankar? Look at how our son is interacting with the peacocks," Gayathri nudged Shankar with a proud expression as if to say, "My son is the best, can't you see?"

"Yeah, our son will become a great zoologist," Shankar replied, trying to comfort Gayathri, who had playfully hit him with her elbow.

After some time, the peacocks finished their dance and approached Rudra, placing their heads on his tiny, soft hands. They rubbed their heads against his hand affectionately.

Abhinaya suddenly snapped out of her trance and nudged Vinayak to capture a photo of this moment, where baby Rudra pats the heads of the peacocks.

After taking the picture, they continued their journey since they had rested enough and began walking towards the temple.

Gayathri and Shankar, who were witnessing the scene, felt proud that the peacocks, known for their aloofness, allowed their son to interact with them and pat their heads.

"Did you see, Shankar? See how our son handled the peacocks?" Gayathri nudged Shankar again, beaming with pride as if to say that her son was exceptional.

"Yeah, our son will do great things in the future," Shankar reassured Gayathri, who had playfully hit him again.

After walking for some time, the family reached the temple and proceeded to offer Shankar's hair as an offering.

Once the barber shaved Shankar's hair, they went inside the temple to see Lord Karthikeyan and pray for their well-being.

"Your son will accomplish great things in the future," an old voice suddenly called out from behind as the family was about to leave.

They turned back to see an old man sitting under a tree, looking at them with a warm smile.

"Sir, were you talking about our son?" Shankar asked the old sage with a puzzled expression.

The old sage didn't immediately respond to Shankar. Instead, he got up and walked toward them.

"Your son is no ordinary child. He has a divine aura around him. Take good care of him and guide him onto the right path," the old sage said, gazing at Rudra in Gayathri's arms.

Everyone exchanged confused glances.

When Shankar was about to ask more questions, the sage suddenly disappeared, leaving them bewildered.

"Where did he go?" Shankar looked around, searching for the old sage who had just been speaking to them.

"Let's go, brother. Don't take the old man's words too seriously," Abhinaya advised Shankar, who seemed to believe what the old sage had said.

"Yeah, let's go. We still have to descend the mountain," Vinayak urged the others to continue moving.

"Alright, let's go," Shankar walked toward the steps and began descending.

Gayathri glanced back one last time at the spot where the old sage had mentioned that their son had a divine aura, realizing that Rudra was no ordinary child.

Brahmalok (the realm where Lord Brahma resides)...

A bright light suddenly appeared in a location after the old sage, who had spoken to Shankar and his family about Rudra, vanished.

Goddess Saraswathi, seated on a white lotus, smiled at the old sage.

Then, five bright lights appeared before the old sage, revealing Lord Narayan and Goddess Lakshmi.

Goddess Parvathi, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Karthikeya materialized beside Lord Narayan.

"What is this commotion, Bramadev?" Parvathi looked at the old sage with a puzzled expression.

The light gradually enveloped the old sage, brightening until the figure of Brahma with his three heads was revealed.

As Parvathi prepared to question further, Narayan interrupted her.

"You did well, Bramadev, but you should have informed me. I also wanted to participate and witness Mahadev,"

Narayan praised Bramadev's actions and expressed his desire to witness Mahadev in his child form.

"Brother, can you explain?" Parvathi, noticing Narayan's appreciation for Bramadev, asked with a puzzled look.

"Miralasur," Narayan's expression turned serious as he uttered the name of an asura.

"Who is Miralasur, Mamashri (uncle), and why is he connected to Pithashri (father)?" Lord Ganesha questioned Narayan.

Brahma Dev began explaining, answering Ganesha's question.

flashback begin...

Long before...

After Mahadev's disappearance...

A man had been engaged in rigorous penance for many years, enduring harsh weather conditions, to seek the blessings of Brahma Dev.

Pleased with the man's penance, Brahma Dev appeared before him, wearing a gentle smile that signified his approval of the man's efforts.

"Miralasur, I am pleased with your penance. Ask for what you desire," Brahma Dev projected himself before Miralasur and spoke in a gentle voice.

"My lord, thank you for accepting my penance. I seek immortality," Miralasur knelt before Brahma Dev, requesting to be granted immortality.

Upon hearing Miralasur's wish, Brahma Dev narrowed his eyes, observing Miralasur's eager anticipation.

"No, I cannot grant you immortality. Ask for something else," Brahma Dev refused Miralasur's request for immortality.

"In that case, my lord, I wish to meet my end at the hands of Mahadev," Miralasur changed his wish and asked Brahma Dev.

"Thathasthu (granted)," Brahma Dev fulfilled Miralasur's new wish and disappeared from Miralasur's sight.

After a few minutes, Miralasur remained still in his place, his gaze fixed on the ground.

Slowly, he lifted his head, directing his gaze toward the location where Brahma Dev's projection had been.

"Hahaha... hahaha... hahaha..."

He burst into laughter, gazing at the sky with a sinister grin on his face.

"Now I am immortal," Miralasur declared in a loud voice.

Cloaked in a black mist that enveloped his entire body, Miralasur, who had been disguised as a sage during his penance, began to walk.

His costume transformed into that of a warrior, with a black crown adorning his head.

"Mahadev disappeared long ago, and nobody knows his whereabouts. If Mahadev doesn't return, I will remain immortal."

Miralasur's voice boomed with a sinister tone as he walked confidently toward his destination.

The flashback came to an end...

Brahma Dev proceeded to explain the boon he had granted Miralasur, which dictated that his death would come at the hands of Mahadev.

"I will personally go and slay him before he poses any threat to Pithashri (father)," Karthikeya declared, determined to defeat Miralasur.

"This time, Mahadev will end his life in his child form. Until then, we must keep this secret to ourselves,"

Lord Narayan stated with a serious expression, addressing Lord Karthikeya, who was preparing for the confrontation with Miralasur.
