Chapter 40: Mysteries Revealed

'Are we allowed back here?', I asked once I regained my composure.

'The door wasn't locked, so I guess they don't care much about who comes in here', Henrik said and shrugged. 'Besides, the point of this room is more to show off.'

Henrik gestured at the walls which were lined with an array of ribbons and medals. 'As you can see, the Novak family has a lot to brag about.'

I let my eyes wander over to a lit display case which displayed a set of shiny, golden trophies and framed pictures of younger versions of Leonardo and Sebastian. 'I guess they had a habit of winning.'

'A family tradition', Henrik confirmed.

'I can see why Leonardo is so caught up on upholding the Novak name', I said, simply to make small talk.

'Their house goes back a long way. I could never pity a rich kid like Sebastian, but I come very close to it sometimes. He's got a lot of pressure on him', Henrik spoke highly of Sebastian, something he rarely did.
