The Alpha's Love

Lucette went to the packhouse after the sunset. She walked through the street clad in an oversized red sweater and white pants, holding a black umbrella that protected her from the raging rain.

Strangely, whenever she passed some of the pack members, they would smile at her, and a few of them stopped her and talked with her.

Seemed like I took the right decision!

Lucette marched in her black boot with a sunny smile printed over her face. As she neared the huge building, a guard showed up from nowhere and opened the door for her after staring at her for a while. The security was tight in the packhouse.

She strode to Hannah's room as the maids aka omegas pointed at, and knocked on the door. "Hey, there. I came to visit you," Lucette said, smiling at her friend, who welcomed her with a slight smile.

"Are you angry?" Lucette gazed at her friend.

"Why should I?" Hannah replied with another question, making a space, and letting her in.

Lucette entered the room and stared at her friend. Since she told Hannah the plan, she didn't visit her. She looked at the room. It was big and... warm! The pink, soft quilt on the bed, the beautiful designs on the wallpaper, and the fluffy carpet made the room look wow.

"I brought you something?" Lucette said, swinging the wrapped cake in her hands. Then she took a round white chair and sat beside the bed.

Hannah's eyes sparkled. Lucette smiled, she knew Hannah was a foodie, and she should have smelt the aroma before she got in. She handed it the wrapped cake.

"Don't think that my anger will go by cooking this for—" Hannah stared at her, then at the cake.

Who said she wasn't angry a minute ago?

"A cheesecake!" Hannah squealed. "Thank you, my friend," she said, grabbing a portion and stuffing it into her mouth.

Lucette smiled. Hannah ate the whole cheesecake by herself. She had a great appetite, maybe because she was pregnant.

"You're not angry anymore?" Lucette asked.

Hannah put the paper away. "I wasn't angry from the start. I don't like the idea. I know you wanted to prove yourself as the Luna, but I don't think going against the alpha is a good method."

"But I'm not going against him—" Lucette retorted.

"What about your plan? Isn't it forcing the alpha by using his pack?" Hannah asked, raising a brow.

Lucette bit her lips. Her plans got seen through by her friend.

"Look, alpha Orson did a lot for this pack. Many people see him as cynical, cold-hearted and overbearing, but he keeps his pack safe, and the pack is growing more and more. I am not saying he didn't make mistakes, but we all do. I came to this pack four years ago, and I see how he worked hard for his pack. Although he is distant, he never threw away his responsibilities as the alpha," she said.

"If what you said is true, then why did he choose to stop arranging the festival in his pack? Isn't he selfish?" Lucette asked.

"Let's put ourselves in his shoes. If you lose someone you love in an event, don't you feel like never listening to a mere word mentioning that event? He lost someone he adored in the bones. The matter hurt him and still feels the same. Maybe you, being a vampire, didn't know how mates felt, but it hurt so much, especially if their bond was strong. He was lucky he didn't die."

Lucette looked at her hands resting over her tight. She didn't know how mates felt. But she also lost her mother, though she was young. But it still hurt her.

"The alpha is neither a bad person nor a good one, he did many wrong things. Then, it will be your turn to guide him to do the right thing."

"Hold on. I will guide him. Are you serious?" Lucette said louder.

Strange! I can barely take care of myself, so how can she think of such a thing?

Hannah said, "I know this seems a bit crazy—"

"A bit?"

"Okay, it's crazier. But you two complete each other. You are persistent, and he is the same. You remember the day of your introduction. You refuse to let his hands," Hannah said, letting her remember that day.

"That's because I couldn't walk with heels," Lucette answered.

"Whatever your reasons are, you refused to comply with his order."

That's because she didn't want to make a fool of herself around so many people. She found the alpha scary, but compared to the shame she would feel if she fell, that would be nothing, so she stuck to him and never let go of his hand.

"Maybe the thing the alpha needs is you," Hannah said. Her hazel eyes shone as if she found some kind of treasure.

"Are you kidding me?" Lucette said. She didn't know why they were discussing the alpha.

"Look, the alpha had this power when he would use his alpha voice to make his pack members obey him. Since you are not a werewolf, he couldn't use this on you. So, you are free to do what you want without listening to his order," Hannah explained.

That was shocking!

"I think you have to gain his love," Hannah added.

"What?" Lucette shouted.

Her friend is crazy!

Hannah said, "Look, I wasn't from this pack too, and I somehow feel what it means to let your home and come to a different one. If you have someone you love and who loves you back, you won't feel much nostalgic, and you adapt fast to the new environment."

"You are the luna, the alpha's mate or wife or anything you call it. You will live here all your life, so vying for the alpha's love isn't wrong. It is your right."

"And if you ever do that, you don't need any plan to make him agree. Just a signal, and he will obey," she added, crossing her hands.

Hannah said her mate was coming, Lucette nodded and wanted to return to her home, but Hannah suggested she would spend the night there.

Lucette walked to the room. It was the same when she left it.

She lay on the bed. It was more comfortable than the bed in her house. But still living there was better. She thought about what Hannah said and didn't know what to do.

Back to the room. Hannah sighed, hoping the Luna would consider what she told her.

She wished the best for her.

The door opened, and Jordan came in. He planted a kiss on her forehead and went to change his clothes.

"Did something happen?" Hannah asked. And he shook his head and removed his sweater.

Hannah went closer. "I know you very well. No need to hide it," she said, stroking his arms.

Something troubled him. She could feel him. His emotions rolled over the past two weeks, which made her anxious.

"Mother called me," he answered.

Hannah's hand posed. She bit her lips, her mother-in-law, the person who was the reason behind Jordan's tormented life.

He told her how he took alpha Orson as his role model from a young age and never wanted anything but to be his beta. But things didn't go as he wished when his father died. And it became worse when the alpha appointed him as a beta; It enraged his mother that she left the pack saying he didn't have any dignity for working with the man who killed his father.

Since then, Jordan had been torn between his dream and his mother.

Seeing her mate lowered his head, she hugged him. "Don't… you don't have to listen to her. It's time to forget the past. Look every person did wrong things. You shouldn't lock yourself in others' mistakes. You are the beta now, and you should focus on that."

Jordan's body trembled in her embrace. "I didn't know that my mate was such a crybaby. So, you must stop this, or how could I do with two crybabies a month later?" she said, soothing his back.

"But, I will always be your first crybaby," he said.

"Yoo! I never thought such a grown-up man would be proud for being a crybaby." Hannah pouted.

"Answer. Will I be the first or the second?" he said, acting pitiful.

"Hmm. You will be, of course, the… second. My baby is the first," she said, caressing her enormous belly.

"I'm hurt," he said, clenching his chest.

"Stop with this bad acting,"

"So, I'm bad?" he said, faking anger. Hannah avoided his hug, laughing at his adorable expression.
