He asked me out

Felix and Krystal got home without noticing that something was missing. It was only after Quinella had approached with a worried state that she asked.

"Krystal, what happened to your glasses?" She asked and Krystal touched her face but didn't feel her glasses.

"I must have dropped it at the hospital. I gotta get it back." Krystal said and Quinella nodded looking past her.

"Okay, so what's up with brother?" She asked pointing at Felix who was currently kneeling with his head bowed. Krystal turned to look at him.

"I'm very sorry, your highness." He apologized. From the looks of it, he was sincere but Krystal got angry. She picked up a glass and threw it at him but due to bad aiming skills, it hit the door behind him and shattered.

Krystal as Astin was very benevolent and kind. She was cheerful and never held a grudge but she was taught a very important lesson before her death in her previous life.

If she was going to be kind, she could be kind and merciful but once it was time to be merciless, she'd be a devil incarnate and be cruel till the end, no matter who it was.

She wasn't proud or pompous, not even arrogant but she got a nasty temper that was best to keep away. Ever since they were at the hospital, she had been trying to keep herself calm and smile at Justin but Felix kept stepping on her toes.

She tried to forget but now he had brought back everything by kneeling and apologizing. She threw the glass simply to let off some steam.

"Don't cross the line, Felix. I warn you!" She bluntly said and headed upstairs. She made her point with only a few words.

Although she had asked him to treat her as he would to his real sister, there were still some things that got her mad.

Surely, normal people still threw tantrums and hated a few things so even if she got angry at him, it was normal. After all, internal conflicts like siblings fighting were unavoidable but the only difference was that she called the shots.

Quinella didn't know what happened between them and she was too scared to inquire from either of them. They both had hot heads at the moment but she thought of a way to lighten Krystal's mood, it was simple. Boy talk!

Quinella walked to Krystal's room and knocked.

"Come in!" Came the response and Quinella exhales before going in. "What is it?"

"Well, I kinda noticed the sour atmosphere and didn't want to bother you but there's this boy at school." Quinella began.

"A boy?" Krystal asked, her eyes lighting up with interest.

"Yeah, he's cute and awesome. Here's a pic of him." She drew closer taking out her phone and showed Krystal the picture.

"Ooh, you even have pictures already?" Krystal said and Quinella blushed.

"Well, he asked me out."

"And what did you say?" Krystal asked in excitement.

"No!" Quinella said and Krystal's excitement fell.

"Why'd you say no?" She asked.

"Well, I get the feeling that it's because I'm foreign that's why he wants to date me. Although I grew up an Asian, I'm British by bloodline, so they think I'm... special." She explained.

"Of course you're special." Krystal said. "You're sweet, pretty and lovable. I wouldn't be surprised if a thousand guys stood in line to date you." She said seriously but they both burst out laughing.

"Don't tease me like that, Krystal. Everyone knows I'm not as pretty as you. If a thousand lines up for me then a million is bound to line up for you." She laughed and Krystal shrugged.

"It is true. After all, I'm made of perfection." She giggled. "So tomorrow, if he still wants to date you, don't hesitate to say yes, okay? Live the life of a normal teenager."

"Okay!" Quinella nodded and stood up. "Will you please forgive my brother?" She requested and Krystal kept quiet for a while.

"I don't know what's come over him lately but I don't like his attitude." She sighed and waved her hand. "Now that I'm no longer upset, he can do whatever he pleases. Goodnight." She said and Quinella nodded, headed for the door and stopped.

"Your highness." She called and Krystal looked up to see a cheerful smile on Quinella's face. "Thank you!" She said before finally leaving. Krystal smiled.

"Sure she's pretty! Like the saying goes, smiling people never age quickly." She chuckled to herself.

The next morning, at work, the vice-president of Kansheng group of companies, personally came over to apologize to Krystal for the inconvenience she felt in the company.

They offered to compensate and Krystal saw this as an opportunity. She asked him and his company to invest in their shop and run a few free adds for them.

That investment would really help them. Plus, as a big enterprise, they were sure to be known around the world, so she asked that they announce the name of their pastry shop all over the world.

At first, Leonard, the vice president, didn't want to fulfill the last but after tasting a cake on Krystal's insistence, he was convinced that the name of their pastry shop was worthy of being known all over the world, so he agreed.

"Are you sure you made the right decision? I mean, it's your compensation, why are you using it on the shop?" Mr Quaid asked.

"Come on, boss. What do you expect me to ask of from such a huge company? If I ask for money, he'll see me as cheap and after wealth and fame. But if I give it out generally to the shop, we can get enough financial support which will come back to me as salary doubled and also increase the fame of the shop, thereby making each and every one of us known. I get the riches, I get the fame, but in an indirect manner. It's a win-win."

Krystal concluded with a satisfied smirk on her face. Mr Quaid was speechless. How did someone so intelligent end up being a waitress in a pastries shop?
