The Last Divine Deucalion and the Lisping Prince

Moving out of the way before Hector could hit him, Falco watched as the panther crashed into his master Pardus. An annoyed growl coming from the Lisping Prince, Falco looked to Kenneth as their two opponents stood up.

Unable to see the face behind the bull-headed helmet, Falco had no way to knowing what was going on in Pardus' mind. Armed with axe and shield, the Former Crown Prince of Hyperion would have looked like some sort of monster or demon in the dim light, but with it being the morning when the light was not like that, there was no mistaking Pardus as anything else but a man.

Yes, a man. Just a man, just as Falco was. He was as perfectly human as any other person Falco had met, perfectly mortal, there was nothing immortal, nothing invulnerable about either of them.

"With all your luck, I wonder if you can even be thlain." Uttered Pardus.

"Luck can run out eventually." Falco responded.

"But ith today that day ith the quethtion." Commented Pardus, raising his axe.

Holding up his sword, broken and half-rusted, Falco tightened his grip upon his shield. Pardus asked a good question. Was today the day his luck would finally run out? Who could say? The only individual who knew that must have been the Weird Sister of Fate.

"Come and find out, Pardus."

The Lisping Prince merely lowered his axe and turned towards the gates of Hyperion. "I don't even know if you can be thlain, Falco, and bethideth, it ith too early in the day for thlaying monarchth."

Falco could have acted then, but he was not one to strike when a back was turned.
