Chapter 40

“Your mom and dad, and your sister, too, sound like wonderful people.”

“They are.” Zane smiled, no doubt with pride. “And they want to meet you. Well, my mom and dad do.” Zane went on before Rory could speak. “Not that Betsie wouldn’t like you, ’cause I know she would, just she wasn’t at Mom and Dad’s yesterday.”

“Wow. That’s…” So far out of Rory’s experience…and comfort zone it was in another state if not another country.

“You will go, won’t you?”

Rory forced a smile. He’d long not been able to deny anything Zane wanted. And Zane would be there, so it’d be all right. He nodded. “Yes, I’d love to go. Thank you.”

Zane sported the widest shit-eating grin and rolled on top of Rory and began to kiss him passionately.

Rory whimpered. This was yet another side to Zane, and one Rory liked a lot.

Zane stopped kissing him abruptly and rolled to the side. “Sorry, I went too far and was crushing you. Forget how big a lump I am sometimes.”
