Chapter 51
When I woke up, Nathan wasn't beside me, I guess that he had something to do, I quickly took my bath with the help of his maids. I braided my hair into two, and I wore a blue off shoulder gown.
I ate my breakfast alone since Nathan wasn't here with me. I had nothing to do so I just laid on the bed reading...
"My lady, my lady" Rayna yelled as she barged into my room. She just got the message that the prince was going to be killed. She ran all the way to the castle to see me.
"What happened?, why are you running?" I asked her, she shouldn't be doing that in the castle, its something not allowed.
"Lord..Lord Nathan would.." she said as she gasped for breath as her words stuck in her throat, she has been running since, she inhaled deeply and exhaled again with her eyes shut.
"Calm down okay" I said as I patted her back. After some while her breathing became steady..
"My lady, my lord is going to be killed today" she said and my eyes widened in horror. Nathan was going to be killed, but why?.
"He gave the fruits to some humans, the king had declared before that anyone who does that would be killed" she said and my eyes widened again, I had told him to save my parents, I w..would be the cause of his death. I had promised not to hurt him and now I would kill him.
"You stupid bitch!!" Miranda raged as she entered, she grabbed my hair tightly and I yelped in pains.
"You dare kill him, huh?, I knew it, from the very first day I saw you, you would bring bad luck to him, but no, he doesn't listen to anyone, he insisted on loving you and you do this to him?" she asked as the grip on my hair tightened. Rayna tried to push her away from me but she was held down.
"You want to help her?, why don't I carve your beautiful face?" she asked as she threw Rayna across the room, she dragged me out with her hands still on my hair.
"Sis, what are you doing?, let her go" Allenda said when she saw Miranda hurting me.
"You had better shut up, I mean you should shut up right now" she warned as she stomped out of the room still dragging my hair. We went outside where I saw Nathan tied up with chains, why did they do this to him?, Miranda threw me on the floor aggressively as she kept holding my hair tightly.
"See, did you see what your bad luck has brought on him?" She asked me as she kept pulling my hair. Nathan's eyes widened when he saw Miranda pulling his wife's hair, he pointed his index finger to the ground and then Miranda was thrown on the floor and she released my hair.
'He would still protect her even if she would caused his death' Miranda said, she couldn't believe her brother was like this because of this stupid witch.
I quickly got up to meet Nathan but the guards would not let me pass. Out of rage I slapped his face hard as I rushed to meet my husband.
I cupped his face with my hands "Why would you do this?, I never thought you would save my parents by breaking your rules" I told him.
"I am sorry" I said again but he smiled at me, why was he smiling when he was about to die?.
"I love you so much and I would not do anything to make you cry or sad, so what if I die by saving your parents?" he asked me.
"Stop saying that, you won't die I promise you that" I said as I kissed his forehead and then i was dragged by the guards away from him.
He kept smiling at me but I couldn't smile back because of the condition he was in.
"He would be given three whips before he would be killed" a woman said. Why would they whip him before killing him, that was so cruel.
I saw one of the guards bring out a demon whip from his body and he stretched it out, the whip was too long and I couldn't help but start crying, not only that, it was made of iron. Why would they do this to him?, I had caused everything, I regret ever telling him to help me.
The first whip landed on him, tearing his clothes, I could see blood seeping out of his body, he was still smiling as I shook my head, I didn't want to see this anymore, I know it was too painful but his face doesn't give that expression as he kept smiling at me. The second whip landed on his back again and then the third whip, his flesh was torn but they joined together since he was a demon. I wondered why he did not save himself from getting whipped this way.
"Kill him, Kill him" they yelled and I just wanted all this to stop, this was the worst nightmare I ever had, seeing my husband whipped and now he would be killed...
The king watched his son smiling at his wife, he couldn't help but look away, he covered his face with his palm, he wanted to cry seeing his son like this. He had promised his wife that he would always protect their son before she died. He had promised her that he would keep Nathan safe. He really wished that that the law he made never existed, but as a king, he can't go back on his words, he would be considered unjust because he had killed many demons who committed the same crime and now it was his son.
He couldn't understand why Nathan was this stubborn he had brought this doom on himself, he wanted to follow his heart so much that he fell in love with Rose. Love was indeed powerful, he knew Nathan did it. because he loved his wife very much and he didn't want her to cry if her parents die, but they were not actually her real parents, they just raised her up thinking she was their child.
