Chapter 48

Nathan stood by the demon fruit that grew once in a year. He looked at the fruits on the tree, this was considered stealing, he would steal it to save her fake parents, how he wished he could tell her the whole truth but he couldn't. This had to go the way it was destined by the heavens. He looked around to check if anyone was watching, he took many of the fruits and hid them in him. He walked away seeing nobody was there.

Kiel came out of his hiding spot, he had suspected something fishy when he saw Nathan came to the demon fruit, Nathan never came here before so why now?, he watched carefully from his hiding spot and he saw Nathan hid some of the fruits in his body. 'Wow!, this is great' he mumbled. He would get back on his brother for embarrassing him that much. His face was ruined and also his teeth broke because of the blows Nathan dealt him.

This was his time for revenge, he didn't care whether his brother would be killed. Now it is time to start his devilish work, Kiel mummured as he smirked.

"Are you ready?" Nathan asked rose as she stood beside the horse ready to go, he gave her the fruits tied in a bag.

"Just let them eat it, they would heal completely" He explained. He looked at her face, as if remembering something.

"You should also eat one to hide the color of your eyeballs" he told her and she hugged him tightly, she loved this man so much, he was everything to her and she prayed nothing would ever separate them.

"I love you Nathan" she said as she kissed his lips. Nathan answered her kisses by delving deeper into her mouth, he savoured the taste of her lips. She broke the kiss and hugged him tight again.

"I am going" she whispered into his ears, he released her from his hold and waved to her. Rose waved back as she sat on the horse and rode away.

Nathan watched her back as she vanished out of his sight. Tears fell from his eyes, he would never see her again once he died. He wished to see her one more time before he died but he wasn't sure if his only one wish would come true, Nathan never wished for something in his life, he took it whether it was his or not.

Rose rode away faster and faster, she had to save her parents, she didn't want them to die, she even valued their life over her's, they were the best parents one could ever have, even if they were king and queen they still had time for their child. She smiled when she got to the castle, she hopped down from the horse and she was about to enter when a guard stopped her.

"My lady, you can't enter" The guard said.

"Why not?, I want to see the king" I said, the guard wouldn't let me in so, I dealt him several blows on the face as I rushed in.

"Mother, mother!!" I called as I rushed through the stairs. I found my mother in her room, it seems like the pain had attacked her again as she clutched her chest tightly and coughed blood.

"Ro..rose, what are you doing here?" the Queen asked as she kept coughing.

"Mother, I am here to help you, eat this" I said as I handed over the fruit to her, the queen stared at me questioningly. I stretched the fruit forward again and the queen collected it and ate it. After some minutes the pain was gone and she was no longer coughing again. The queen touched her chest, she was breathing fine now. I rushed to hug my mother since she was fine. We both cried as we hugged each other tightly. The queen has been counting the days she would see her daughter again and this was it.

"You look more stunning than before, Raya is really taking care of you" She complimented.

Raya, or she meant lord Nathan, well, they were the same person she loved more than anything.

"Where is father?" I asked as I changed the topic.

"He is in the library now, let's go" my mother said as she pulled her daughter to the library.

"Father, how are you?" I asked, I wanted to hug him but he stepped back.

"You can't do that" he said as he stepped back again. I picked the fruit in the bag and handed it to my father.

He looked at me confused and then at the fruit, he threw it in his mouth and chewed it, he became healthy after some minutes as he no longer coughed again.

I hugged my parents, I was happy that they were fine now, I gave the fruit to my mother which the queen gave to everyone in the castle.

"Rose where did you get that fruit from?" he asked her, he never knew that fruits could cure illness but he was wrong, that was a demon fruit not just any type of fruit.

I looked down quickly, I didn't know how to answer that question, I had not even thought about that, all I could think of was how to save them.

"Why don't you let her rest, I am sure she is tired" Mother said, I sighed in relief, she had saved me. I didn't know the lie I was going to tell to stop him from questioning me. He nodded his head and I went straight to my room.

I looked at everywhere nothing had changed, it looked just the way I left it, there was no speck dust or dirt there, I guess mother must have asked the maids to clean it. I laid on my bed wide-eyed I wished Nathan was here with me, that way I would not feel bored. Thinking about him, I turned on the bed to sleep but I found him staring at me. I blinked my eyes three times as I slapped myself again.

I waved my hands in front of him and I pinched him to make sure he was real.

"Ouch...that hurts wife" he complained with pouted lips, my gaze fell on his beautiful red lips as I snuggled closer to him to kiss him but he was gone. What was that?, was he playing a prank on me?, if he was doing that, he surely succeeded.

I turned my back to the other side to sleep and he was looking at me again. "Okay, I know you are not here" I said as I picked the pillow to cover my face.
