First Adventure Begins

After Su Xin Yu felt ready to be able to move around, she decided on the next Monday to disappear, for the time being at least. She had already told Li Ming Hao that he could tell his dad if he wanted to, but she would rather keep it discreet.

Li Ming Hao ultimately did tell his dad, and Dean Li was quite happy at the fact that his son was gelling quite well with the girl he had raised for so many years. Finally, she was proving helpful.

They decided to leave on Monday morning.

"You got torchlight?" Su Xin Yu started asking him about his inventory on Sunday evening. Although she did not like how the father and son duo were using her, she had kind of, come to enjoy his companionship. Of course, she would never admit that in front of him.

For her, she was a top student at the school. She had earned everything with her hard work. But because the fact that she was being raised by Dean Li was known to everyone, everyone thought that she had a great backer. Although people had seen her working hard and respected the amount of responsibilities she had, in addition to the dungeons affair.

Thus, everyone was polite and respectful towards her, but no one was really friends with her. She rolled all alone too, it was not a problem. But ultimately, she was a human being too. No matter how independent, she longed for human interaction as well.

And this guy, although his motives were suspicious, was doing just that. For now, she had decided to just observe, and if, along the way, she was able to fulfill his wish of finding the person he was looking for, that would be great. But she would still not handover all the secrets of her hard work all these years to anyone, including him.

"I've got extra shoes, two pair of clothes, a few towels…"

"Pfft, hahahaha. Young master Li, we are not going for a vacation. Just take two pairs of undergarments in clothes. We will have to travel light since we will need tools too. Here, I have prepared all the necessary tools. Your boots should be water resistant, I personally prefer steel toe boots," Su Xin Yu started explaining the inexperienced guy from scratch. She thought he had done this before. Perhaps he was used to be moving in big groups.

"Hmm… you mean to say we are not taking all this?" he spread out all the stuff from his bag and removed whatever she had just ruled out.

"Oh! Your medical kit looks more comprehensive than mine, I'll take out mine. Then we could put some extra food items in my bag," Su Xin Yu was going through each and every item. She discarded most of the stuff until absolute essential things remained.

"Why are you putting a scarf and a sweater?"

"Well, these are underground caves, they get really chilly. Although it is peak summer right now here, we can't be sure if we'll encounter water and how cold it will be," Su Xin Yu explained. They had to look at the weather. Climate was fine outside, but what about inside? If they were going for a week long adventure, they had to spend their nights in there. Plus, her injuries were not fully healed. What if she ended up holding them back?

"Oh also, another person will be joining us tomorrow," Su Xin Yu broke the news suddenly.

Li Ming Hao raised his eyebrows. Another person? He thought it was going to be a secret adventure just for the two of them. Why a third wheel was coming in?

"Uhh… it's my cousin. We usually go on adventures together. He has been quite helpful all this time. He is a bit greedy because he delves into trading of the stuff sometimes found in the dungeons, but he's good natured otherwise. So, he will join us," she explained to him, but she did not understand why she felt the need to do so.

"And? Do you think it's okay to tell me that?" Li Ming Hao was kind of surprised that she was telling him the truth about her own cousin 'trading the stuff'.

"Well, we will need to have this much trust between us, at least. I need you to know that you could trust me with your life. Otherwise how do you know I won't just kill you off there?" she answered him seriously.

"But now that you've told me a secret like this, isn't there a higher chance that you'll kill me there?" Li Ming Hao chuckled. Of course, he had full faith in her. She had saved his life twice, he could definitely entrust her with his life once again.

"Young Master Li, I understand that you are not very trusting of me but you're really giving me ideas now," Su Xin Yu also played along. They both grinned at each other. This was going to be one heck of an adventure!
