' I know I have the shittiest of luck, I mean why won't I have been cursed; but this bastard beside me makes my shitty luck look like dogshit.'
"You... Had one job. One! "
Azel barked.
"And yet you somehow man-
Azel paused to dodge the incoming claw behind him.
And give the monster a tremendous amount of gap.
"Manage to fuck it up."
Azel said to the figure beside him.
"Oh, please like I was supposed to know it was there."
The figure defended himself.
"Yes, ok yes you check, you scout, do you wanna know why? Because that is common sense and that his your job."
Azel retorted while deftly moving through trees.
"Fine I get it, so why don't we keep that aside and deal with this varmint."
The figure said while making a pointing gesture to the 4.8-foot muscled brown rhino-like Varmint behind them, the Varmint was brimming with energy and emitting a concerning amount of steam from its body.
Azel took a brief look at the Rhino Varmint and then his friend.
Whilst running he touched his head and said
" Nah man are you sure you are your father's son? if you were you wouldn't have suggested we take down a flipping D-tier advance Rhino Varmint!! "
The two made a quick slide and hid behind a tree stump.
"Think with me Azel, your old man always killing higher increases Hesperia and enlightenment."
"Well the only enlightenment will be having will be 6 feet deep."
"Pfft, what's wrong with you? Loosen up, besides what is the worst that could happen?"
The figure rushed out with a dagger in each hand.
Seeing this Azel called out.
"Shinra!! "
'This bastard will be the death of me.'
Coating his hands in flames he followed.
"Shinra wha-"
An object flew past Azel at incredible speed and crashed into a bunch of trees.
Shinra stood up with a painful groan.
"Am good..am alrig- eouchh!!"
He cried out in pain.
"And you wonder why I suggested we run."
Azel stepped forward standing in between the Rhino Varmint and Shinra.
'Vena keep an eye on Shinra, also scan for cast; something is wrong here.'
[You got it, also be careful.]
Azel made a small smile in response to her worry.
Azel increased the output of flames on his hands and made his move; So did the Varmint.
The two; one human and one Varmint rushed at one other with tremendous speed.
Azel raised his hands for a punch but ceased when he felt all parts of his body freeze, so he slid under the Varmint.
A few seconds after he slid a long piece coated in metallic luster appeared at the spot where he once was.
'Shit wood manipulator and metal coating.'
Azel grimaced.
Sending mana into his legs Azel increased his speed by twofold.
Sensing the incoming human rocket, the Varmint threw a backkick.
But Azel dodged it so easily and threw a flaming punch at the joint.
BANNG!!!
Azel felt like he punched a formidable steel wall and his bones suffered a shock.
"Fuck!!"
He screamed out and jumped a few steps back.
The Varmint turned around and grunted in pride.
It made a taunting gesture towards Azel.
"Is this bitch mocking me?"
[All this would be easier if you used a weapon.]
'And what grade do you think the weapon will have to be before it'll be able to puncture its skin?'
'No replies.. Thought so.'
Azel went towards the Varmint preparing to throw a kick.
"Azy"
Shinra called out distracting Azel for a split second, seizing that opportunity the Varmint used its horns to pick up Azel and throw him towards a tree.
"Ouf, that looks bad."
Shinra said while covering his eyes.
"What?!"
Azel answered Shinra in pain and frustration.
"Why not use a weapon?"
Shinra suggested.
".... "
[Told you.]
Azel stood up patted his clothes and walked towards the Varmint calmly.
The Varmint ground its hooves against the grass, positioned its horn forward and.....
Whoosh!!
It moved at speeds that went against its weight.
The Varmint closed in on Azel in seconds, but Azel didn't dodge instead he gently parried the horn and made a deft move towards the rear of the rear of the Varmint.
Coating his hands in a dark red flame Azel shoved his whole arm in the behind of the Varmint.
Roar!!!!
The Varmint roar out in pain.
Shinra held his ass and felt like puking.
Azel not satisfied shoved his arms even deeper.
"Vatsya!!"
The bottom half of the Rhino Varmint exploded, and all of its innards were scattered all over the ground.
The pristine forest was dyed red and designed with the large intestinal guts of the Varmint.
THUMP!!
The other half housing the head and the brain dropped to the floor, steam coming out from within it.
"Like I said no weapon is needed."
Azel walked towards the stump they once hid and sat down on it.
"You did well."
Shinra encouraged.
"Cut off the horn."
"What- I don't understand."
"I did well, you did nothing so make yourself useful and cut the horn."
Looking at the thick horn Shinra grimaced.
"That gonna take a long time."
"Well then chop, chop no time to waste."
Shinra dragged his body towards the dead Varmint and kicked it continuously whilst raining curses on it.
Meanwhile, Azel was conversing with Vena.
'So a debuff or a cast.'
[A debuff.]
'Type.'
[A natural one and worst of all it is a Varmint.]
'Were you able to trace the type of Varmint? '
[No, but I was able to confirm it belongs to the reptilia class.]
"shit."
Azel muttered.
'A reptilia class Varmint with the ability to use a debuff, explains why I was so against fighting I wasn't scared of the Rhino I was scared of the reptilia.'
[Azel, Azel, Azel!!!]
Vena yelled his name.
'Dammit, what' He said while holding the side of his head.
[You are close... to the to.... wn]
"mm?"
[I said you... Sec. Lllsb]
'Vena... Vena'
"shit."
Unsettled by the interference, Azel got off the stump and called Shinra.
" Dude we got to move."
"Have only just removed one of its horns, I don't have th-"
"Forget about it we have to move.. Now!"
'whatever it is, it's close I can feel its presence.'
Shinra looked at Azel and noticed whatever it was, it was important so he strapped the horn to his back and began to move.
