A stab in the heart

[ T-minus 10 min]

He stood in an empty white space with neon blue lights flickering on the walls.

Matthew still couldn't understand how it is that even when their lives are at stake,

women still find a way to be late.

She has been Jah knows where for the last 20 minutes.

"Does she know that if we don't hurry up we will die?"

Matthew asked.

<<She does actually>>

A feminine voice replied.

"Then why the hell is she not hurrying up?"

"I don't know."

Matthew took a deep breath knowing there was nothing he could do but wait, Matthew crossed his legs settling onto the chilly white floor.

"Are you still connected to the nexus?"

Matthew asked the system.

<<Nope, I have been discarded, starting from now, I'm no longer a system>>

Said the system monotonously.

Hearing what the former system said Matthew sat there shell-shocked, he knew the answer but hearing it from the former system was still incredibly surprising.

The system we are all familiar wiis, all-powerful beings that attach themselves to a host, allowing the host to become more powerful; each system has different abilities sinuating its bloodline.

For example the strongest system, the entire system, the villain system and the most common or rather one of the pillars of the system; the Death system[ Sung jin woo<solo levelling>]

All these are powerful systems and now for the first time in millennia, a system has been kicked out, discarded, and disowned like nothing.

"So what exactly are you now?"

He asked wanting clarification.

<<I don't know, the only thing I know is that am no longer connected to Nexus and can't access interface>>

"Well, looks like your journey to self-discovery is beginning too. "

<<I guess so.>>

'I wonder if the former system will gain emotions.'

Matthew thought.

BOOOOOMMMM!!!!

The entire space shook with the sound of the explosion, the lights began moving disorderly and the light behind the walls was beyond blinding.

[⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ fourth wall breached T-minus 7 minutes till full entry.]

"Fuck this MEA, get your ass out now!!."

Matthew screamed frustration dripping from his voice.

'I swear am gonna deal with her when she gets here.'

Poof!!

The late goddess appeared beside him.

"Am here."

She said with a smile.

Matthew didn't reply and just crossed his arms in an akimbo and gave her a long questioning stare.

"Umm, I can explain."

Mea said.

"Go on."

"I was busy transferring most of the useful stuff from my treasury to my item box."

.

.

.

"So how much were you able to transfer?"

Matthew asked in confirmation.

" About 72% of it."

Breaking a beautiful genuine smile Matthew began praising her.

Very pleased with her successful transfer of the treasure(mostly gold and silver) into her item box.

If there was a chance Matthew would danced due to her statement.

"Good, good, very good I like that; job well done."

Said Matthew whilst nodding his head repeatedly.

<<Host as unbearable it is to watch your shamelessness, I needed let you know that the clock ticking>>

The former system chimed in.

"Yeah, I know."

Mea drew closer to Matthew after noticing his change in demeanour.

"So how do we escape?"

Mea asked.

"Sy- crap, uh whatever."

Said Matthew a bit confused about what to call the former system.

<<Anything is fine host>>

'Sure, remind me to name you later on.'

He told the former system.

"How far are the dementors from us."

"About 2 walls away from us."

[That is approximately 10 feet away.]

"Am sorry did you say dementors."

Mea asked.

"Yeah, I did."

With eyes filled with shock and a hint of fear, she questioned.

"The hell, why would they-"

Pointing to the side of his head Matthew addressed Mia's question.

"Think Mea think, it's not every day the daughter of one of the highest council of the gods decides to stage a rebellion with a well-known maniac."

Matthew turned away and began fiddling with the screen.

"You are right."

"How close?"

"A wall away from us."

Replied the former system.

Immediately after receiving the notice from the former system a large ghastly long claw pierced through the wall.

"' Mea daughter of ####=$+$ by the order of the council we command you to surrender and return the fugitive to us."'

Mea looked at Matthew incredulously.

"Fugitive?"

"It's a long story-

Disrupting Matthew's speech, half of a dementor's body breached the hall,

the dementors seen half was quite eerie, it was faceless and covered with a veil of moving darkness that seemed to have a life of its own, once in a while you could see a bright flickering light in the position of their eye "sockets".

A tingle ran down Mea's spine, she had heard the tale of dementors, but seeing them face to face was unnerving.

Mia averted her eyes from the dementors in fear.

"Argh, Matthew..if u wanna do something do it now."

"Begin countdown detonation."

"Deto- WHAT?!"

Mea said with shock and hurriedly scurried away from Matthew.

"26...21..."

The former system began a countdown.

"I'll see you on the other side Mea."

"Oi, how am I supposed to find you?"

Mea said.

"Even if the world seizes to spin, even if the stars stop to shine, and the birds stop singing; I will ALWAYS recognise you."

Hearing those sweet words of reassurance, a bright red hue descended upon her cheeks.

"You better."

{Are these two insane? they are literally about to die and you're confessing.}

The former system was a bit confusing.

While the two were lost in their little beautiful paradise, a dementor stealthily closed in on Matthew, its icy presence sending shivers through the air.

Without warning, a long black skeletal claw pierced through Matthew's stomach, rupturing all the flesh in its part.

// Bleurgh//

Matthew's red blood poured out a stark contrast against the pristine white floor.

"NOOO!!!"

Mea's anguished scream echoed through the void as she desperately unleashed her abilities on the relentless dementor, but it proved futile.

Racing to Matthew's side, panic and sorrow gripped her heart.

But before reaching him, she noticed Matthew moving his mouth.

'No, don't you dare, Matthew?'

'Don't say it, please.'

"Explode,"

he said weakly.

BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!

A blinding white luminescence erupted, a celestial inferno consuming the stellar system in its fervent embrace.

The aftermath unveiled a cosmic revelation of desolation,

where once vibrant stars, planets and other heavenly bodies have nothing but echoes.

The remnants of planets and stars, now reduced to cosmic dust, swirled in the lingering aftermath, an otherworldly graveyard veiled in the ghostly glow of celestial demise.

.

.

Galaxies away from the initial explosion,

two bright balls of gas can be seen speeding away in the empty void of space;

when suddenly what seemed like a huge hand hijacked one of the balls of gas,

leaving only one to continue its journey.

.

.

.

I felt broken broken and used.

Insulted, spat upon.

Foolish.

"You promised, you said as long as I make sure those six can transmigrate, you'll save my people. You promised."

An unstable figure resembling Matthew said.

"Ha, ha, ha look at you.

You foolish puny mortal what made you think that I'll help you,

a lowly being daring to make someone like me help you."

A giant being seated on a colossal throne said with mockery.

The beautiful flower of grey hair and gold royal robes with intricate linings of silver, across it was a sash of similar colour other head was a crown made of jade, pure white jade a manifestation of her authority.

Her entire aura breeds power, her speeches hold so much disdain for Matthew.

????? Pov

"I... I killed for you. You promised, as long as I did what you asked, you'd save my people. I wiped out six planets filled with life for you. I DECIMATED A WHOLE STELLAR SYSTEM FOR YOU. I did it all for you... for them."

As she looked at the grieving mortal, his words echoing with the weight of his deeds, a deep sorrow filled the air.

When had she last witnessed such a profound sacrifice? He was a top-quality entertainer, pouring his life into a tragic performance, so vibrant, so full of life, yet so tragically gullible.

Deciding to escalate the emotional torment, she snapped her fingers and commanded him to watch the screen.

His eyes, filled with disbelief, mirrored the torment in his voice.

Her insides twisted, a sense of euphoria mixed with a profound sadness.

Was she sad because of what she did?

No, she was sad because she wished she had discovered this interesting specimen sooner.

The sound of his voice became the bitter-sweet icing on top.

"...wh...why."
