the beginnings of a construct

somewhere in a cave roots from the sealing leaked a ball of glowing sap falling from the roots to a rock that was laced in the same sap and as this last drop fell the roots above seemed to loss its glow of life

from the dieing roots a final ball of sap leaked out but this time instead of glowing it was the absolute opposite of glowing it seemed to absorb all light around it

once it made contact with the rock it seemed to sink into the rock and once it fully sank in the glowing sap that covered the seemed to boil

as from inside the rock roots shot out braking off some parts as the roots twisted together to make semi-muscles that then grabbed onto the fallen off fragments to making three toes two in the front one on the back of the rocky feat

this happened three more times to make a total of four legs but it seems that the roots were not done yet as from what seems to be the front of the rock came a cracking sound as the lower half

as it cracked into four fragments as it moved forwards a little bit it seemed to test its movement as it opened and closed its mouth and it was even able to spin its mouth at low speeds

the last thing to appear from the rock was a ruby gem in the shape of a eye that was surrounded by roots and if someone was to look into the depths of the ruby eye they would find what looks like a starry night sky

the ruby eye flashed as this elemental construct was flooded with life as it seemed to shake with understanding as deep from its core a conscience formed

'huh? what is this? why am I alive?" then flood of information seemed to stream into the construct as it found out why it existed

it seems that a young yakshi sacrifice its spiritual energy of fertility and prosperity to create a earth elemental so it could survive the disaster that befell apon its forest

but it seems that she didn't have enough energy to make a vessel for her soul so she made a container for all the knowledge she had excluding the knowledge she stole from humans that got lost in her forest

'so I'm my own construct without a master and with the inherited knowledge of a spirit that lived for hundreds of years' the construct had no master and no purpose so to understand more of itself it connected to something only beings born from the world know

'it seems that even if I'm not true yakshi I'm still considered as being born from the world but this still doesn't answer what my purpose is'

'perhaps if I ascend in power I might find my purpose but what path should I take?'

'there is the path of a Mage where I condense my magnus and manipulation the laws of the world'

'there is also the path of a Sorcerer where I manifest my souls mentality and cast cantrip's of emotional energy?'

'there lastly is the path of a cultvater where I empower and purify my body with the power of my bloodline?'

'I don't know what to choose as I fear that I might go down the wrong path and never find my purpose but I may have found a solution to my dilemma but it might even be harder and harmful to me'

'the solution is to go down all the path that are unavailable to me but if I do that I must equalize the progress of each path unless I want one of the paths to overpower the others and cripple me'

'an I already know how to take the first step on this path of power' the first step was to reinforce my bones (which I don't have) and get to 4th rank mortal as I know that awakening my mind will overwhelm the others if they are not together

to go up a rank in magnus right now I just have to circulate my mana in my magnus runes which were nature and earth this might sound simple but was not as my mana leaked out of the runes easily and had to restart each time

so while I did that my body was on auto pilot as it searched for what resources I needed to cultivate with and it was even able to find the first half of what I needed it found mineral rich soil now the last thing I need is any plant life

well in this damp cave it was easy to find a patch of moss so I dropped the mineral rich soil onto the moss and I started to direct the earthy energy of the soil into the moss and the I absorbed the byproduct energy from the moss

as I watched the moss grow a small amount I understood that I needed to do this a couple more times till I have the energy to even make bones

as I was going back and forth getting soil I was able to circulate one of my runes but to rank up I must circulate both runes without leaks occurring but that will take more time

after one last time absorbing the moss byproduct I had enough energy to create my bones and so I started the process

"SCREEEEICH"

in my hole entire short existence I never felt anything but now I felt the first thing ever an it was pain and not any ordinary pain it was absolute suffering as my body broke apart and started to rebuild itself

the things that happened was that my inside hollowed out as the upper part segmented into what was called the spinel cord and it even made a ribcage

then my back legs extended and bent to give me more movable and my toes seemed to enlarge so I had more support

then from at the end of my spine and before my back legs a group of vines started twine together to make a tail to help me balance I could even sense that there was very small rocks in the tail

face was extended from my spine as I grew a neck and that was the last of the changes that occurred so the pain slowly receded as so I was able to understand the extent of the changes

the biggest change I noticed was that inside these "bones" were filled with a sap that flowed with nutrients and minerals to repair any cracks that formed

'now I just need to get more energy and reinforce my bones so to finish off this horrid stage of my cultivation and get part my self torture'

after that traumatic experience my progress in circulating mana through my magnus runes went back a little bit

but as I went back to cultivating I was able to not regain my progress I able to finish off my first magnus runes circulation

I felt as if the mana listened to me more and it even helped me with my cultivation as the moss gave me more byproduct then before

'good this will help speed up the process so I can now start getting ready for the next step of my plan'

the next step of my plan is awaken my mind which is the easiest of the three advancements as I just need to a string of my conscious to any cores i have and then it will rewire my mana veins

that's also the reason I had to do the other two first because if I didn't it would have restricted me ability to manipulate my mana to different parts of my body

as I finished reinforcing my bones I began the process making a strand of my consciousness and slowly connect it to my first elemental core then to my second elemental core and lastly my spiritual core

once I was done I felt a wave of energy blast out create my first domain and with my first domain came the name of its manifestation

reality warped as I found myself not in the damp caves but a large twilight forest filled with wisps of light that seemed to giggle and they even looked at me curiously

but they weren't the only ones here as I could see wolf's made out of shadows as they lurked behind the trees

then the world seemed to shattered as mana came back to me and then I found myself back in the damp cave in front of the large patch of moss
