The first scene that plays in front of us is a gunshot sound and a wounded cadet crawling towards us. The cadet, who is my classmate Greg, is looking pretty worn. His eyes are wide open with shock, his suit is tattered, and he also has blood on him.
When the cadet sees us, he immediately shouts for help. "Help! It's a gunner!"
More gunshots echo from the hallway behind him, also screams. We immediately pull him to us to get him out of the line of fire.
"Treat him, I'll buy time." Jake said. But I stop him.
"It's a gunner and you're a batter. You can't fight him. I'll go." I crawl to the edge and I thought he doesn't have any comments, but he protests right after I took position to take vision.
"You have never fought these guys before. You'll get shot!"
"Do you want to get shot instead?" I glance at him. He doesn't retaliate. Good. I don't want him too. It's troublesome to argue and a waste of time.
Besides, I need to work a little bit creative here to rescue the people in this floor. I don't care if he dies, but that would mean wasting my time waiting him to die before I can act. Unlike him, I know exactly what to do here.
As Jake treats Greg, I stand up and peek. To my left is a hallway with a broken window on my end, and the other end should lead to the office area, where the bad guys are, and the restroom.
I can hear heavy footsteps nearby, which means that the enemy's coming. So I exit my hiding spot while aiming forward. The enemy's gunner notices me and I can see his gun aiming downward. Surely, he's aiming for Greg who was on the floor before. But now there's me instead, so he's aiming at my face. But his movement is slow for a fast encounter, and it easily gives me an opening as he aims upwards.
In the split second, I shoot his hand that's holding the gun. It messes with his grip and his hand can be seen trembling. I immediately run at him and jump kick him square in the stomach. He's not a big guy, so my kick is effective to make him fall back. Disarming him is the first thing I do and I immediately hit his head with my gun to keep him down. Then the same thing happens like the enemy in 5th floor. I kick the man to roll over before tying his hands with a zip lock.
'One down. Two to go.'
Now, the rescue in this floor is kinda tricky. One of the enemies should be holding the workers hostage while one is standing by just behind the office area's doorway. If I enter the office area just like that, I will get hurt right away and the hostages will die. But there is a very easy method to solve this.
I calmly turn right to the restrooms. There is something I have to take first. Suddenly, someone calls me.
"T-Terrence!"
I glance to the right, to the women's restroom. A female classmate of mine is there by the door with her hammer-pick in hand. I don't remember her name, but she looks as tattered as Greg. She must be among the ones searching this floor.
"Please help this senior, he's bleeding!" She points inside the restroom.
I throw her one of the small, first-aid kit boxes that the Rescue Team has to bring in bundles. It falls on the floor near her feet, and she looks confused as she picks it up. She's surely thinking I'll be the one patching whoever it is, but she's wrong by a long way.
"W-What are you doing?" She asks as I take the fire extinguisher on the wall and walks away. "You have to help him! Aren't you a Rescue?!"
"Exactly. I rescue."
I return to the main hallway and fiddles a bit with the red tank-y thing. I've never used one. So how do I make it work?
'There's this funnel thing, and this thing I can push…' I have a feeling I know how it works. Then I see something on it, like a pin.
It reminds me of a grenade. I've watched many action movies, and I learned that safety pins in grenade is to keep the chemicals from reacting to one another. I have a feeling I should remove this before I can use this thing, so I take it off.
I walk to the end of the hallway in excitement and hurry. I've never spray people with fire extinguishers before, and, while I've never seen these things explodes after usage, one can never be too sure. That's why I'm hurrying.
Besides, it looks cool in movies. I'm SO very eager to try it!!
"FREEZE!!" I turn to the office area and sprays white frost as I run forward. The frost surprised the one on the doorway, but I can run past him safely into the office. I keep on squeezing the handle while aiming at the other terrorist's face, roaring as I do.
"HAA!!"
The one who is holding knives to two hostages' throat is surprised, but he couldn't react in time as the frost sprayed on his face. He swings his knives in front of him like a blindman, but I keep on spraying while trying to dodge him, whilst also moving forward. The spray should be painful on the face, it forces him to back away.
Suddenly, my instincts heightens and I feel something behind me. At the same time, one of the worker gasps. "Watch out!"
The other workers also scream, which worsens the feeling.
I immediately turn around while swinging the fire extinguisher upward just in time. It hits the other terrorist's right on the head with a loud THUNK. But I got hit because he already brings down his spear down on me when turn around. It grazed my cheek a bit, but I've avoided the rest of it.
The man is pushed back by the impact and leaves so many openings. I let go of the fire extinguisher and take the iron bat from my bag. It's the one I've used in 5th floor.
I've learned my mistakes in the alley. Guns aren't that good in narrow spaces, so I've decided to bring the bat for close range attacks. Like right now.
"Haa!" I growl as I hit the man's shoulder, messing with his balance. Then I swing another one aiming at his other side. As the man staggers, I finish it with a body ram that makes him fall to the floor. I immediately take a zip lock to secure his hands.
But before I can finish, I heard something falling on the floor behind me. Then one of the hostages yells. "Terrace boy, the other one!"
I let go of the zip lock at once. I prepare myself for another surprise attack, but when I turn around to fight the other terrorist, I found him clawing his face trying to get the frost off. His knives are on the floor and he's far from ambushing me.
I sigh regretfully. I half-expected some action, but I turn around to an idiotic scene. I finish tying the second terrorist before I approach the last one. With a hit on the head, he easily falls down. What's more idiotic is that he doesn't try to find his knives but instead, rubs his head. It eases me in securing his hands though. I don't forget to tie him with zip lock.
Making sure both enemies are immobilized, I declare the room safe. "Alright, gentleman and madam. This floor is safe now."
"Thank you, boy!"
"We're grateful for your help!"
"I thought I'm gonna die…"
I rub my nose with a smile. 'Huh, this feeling is good.'
"My senior is waiting by the emergency stairs, let's go there." I told them.
"Yes!" They reply in unison.
At the same time, Jake peeks into the doorway. Seeing the terrorists wriggling on the floor, he comes out instantly. "Anyone hurt?!"
"Just a few scratches, we're alright. But there are your fellow cadets before this boy. They tried to fight the terrorists, but they're hurt badly. We don't know what happened to them." One of the hostages said.
"Ah. They're hiding in the restroom." I said.
Jake nods. "Leave them to me. You take these gentlemen and lady to the emergency stairs to rendezvous with Patrick."
"Aye aye, sir!" I salute. Patrick must be his friend who rode the hoverboard with before.
"Oh and your friend Greg is already taken back for treatment."
I don't need that kind of information, but I fake a relieved face. I take the hostages back to the emergency stairs and report to the base. Three dings echo in my ears like a victory ringtone. Seeing my points go up also make me feel a bit refreshed.
As we wait for the hoverboard to come Jake and my female classmate arrive in the emergency stairs. They're helping two seniors to walk since they're wounded. As soon as they lower the seniors on the ground, my female classmate glares at me so intensely.
