Chapter 13 - Sword Sparring

"That's impossible." Delaney saw Drake with amazed. How a person like him could have strong mana like that. Even high tier Bismouth users were almost impossible to reach this stage of power.

Until now, she always thought the strongest user was her master, Marven. As when she saw Drake run towards Marven, his speed was incredibly fast.

For normal people, it would be hard to follow Drake's move. He could stand in front of you, but be behind your back a second later.

As the speed matched the winds, Drake ran fast towards Marven. Though that fabulous attack was a perfect move, Marven could steadily receive his swing.

Two sharp swords were meeting under unbelievable speed. In that moment, Marven never felt so excited as when he fought with Drake. "It's been a long time since I felt this."

"So you could still talk." Drake somehow amaze with Him. When he thought himself as a chanter with blessing, Marven was only a human. For a normal human to have this skill, how great this sword master was.

Marven pushed his sword as he took a step further. "Do you think you could bring me to my knees?"

Drake moved his body above him, and swung his sword one more time.

Attack from above would be several times heavier. With speed and power like that, no one could receive his move without any difficulty.

But as experienced as the gang leader was, Marven turned around his body and avoided the attack.

When Drake's sword stabbed on the ground, Marven launched his sword back toward him. "Come on!"

This sudden move dumbfounded Drake somehow. They have sparred multiple times. But Drake was always surprised at how quick this person think with his sword.

"Don't just put everything with your power, use your brain!" As Marven stretched out his swords, It was so fast, but Drake could withstand the move just in time.

Delaney and Logy were standing as their eyes couldn't leave the ground. "How could Drake have this power? His speed is no joke."

Logy said back to her, "I don't think he is weaker than our master right now. If you see, Marven somewhat struggles to endure Drake's attack."

Delaney observed the fight again, she understood what Logy just said. Marven was going all out on receiving Drake's sword. In fact, he used almost all of his power to stand it.

When Drake pushed his sword further, Marven foot was forced to take a step back. He knew it's almost impossible to equal Drake's enormous power. Where this guy get a power like this?

Marven always thought Drake was unordinary. But having mana to this such extent, he was wondering what's his real identity.

Even though Marven already struggled to withstand his attack, he was sure Drake power could still be enhanced.

This monster. "You still have a long way to win!" As Marven said that, he reduced some of his defense then with fast, he attacked from the left side.

Drake realized Marven's scheme. He put his sword to the side and blocked the attack. "Do you think I'm that easy?"

Marven smirked. What Drake didn't perceive, as he moved his hand to the side, he just made a wider open free space on the right.

"I told you to balance your defense range!" Marven focused his mana on his leg. He then kicked the critical point on Drake's right knee, while still bending his body to hold the defense of Drake's sword.

As that happened, Drake got lost in balance. This was a chance for Marven. He quickly stood, and with powerful force, he finally did hold his sword on Drake's neck. "Nice try!"

Drake with his knee on the ground, finally admitted his master had won.

Marven retreated his sword back. "Drake, you had incredible power. But focus more on your defense range. Not all of the opponents get intimidated with your mana."

As he tried to stand, his right knee lost its power. Delaney who saw this, quickly reached to him, helping Drake to stand. "Drake, are you fine?"

"Oh. Yes, I'm fine. It's just that my right leg lost some strength. Haha" Drake scratched his head

"Oh no, Master shouldn't put his power to kick your critical point. It's dangerous." Delaney felt bad for Drake.

"Well, I might have just a little bit overused my power for that kick." Marven chuckled.

Delaney took Drake's arm, "Come on Drake, let's rest your leg." She turned her body as giving her side eyes to his master.

Logy also let out the long breath. He somehow was dissatisfied with how Drake just lost.

"Hey, that's not my fault." Marven said to them. This was not fair. "Don't you see how strong his mana was? Of course I have to use one to two tricks." He complained.

"Well, you shouldn't have kicked his critical point. What if he got a serious injury?"

"Serious injury? With mana like that?" He was speechless with what Logy just said.

Logy said nothing then left.

Feeling injustice for his master, Ash slapped his shoulder from behind, "Come one boss, let's get you some beer."

Actually, Ash was also got surprised by Drake's mana power. His instinct was right. Drake was not a regular person. He too, often sparred with him.

Inside the pub, Drake had one of his legs up on the chair. Delaney was putting the ice compress for Drake. It was somehow nice.

As Marven saw this from the side, Drake could enjoy the pampering somehow.

"Come on boss, stop eyeing them." It was Lara who said that. She was the woman from the drugstore.

When Drake was introduced to other Samoa members, he finally met her.

Drake acknowledged Lara as the drugstore owner, but she then suddenly changed her appearance into a beautiful middle aged woman.

"Lara, just give him something. You're a powerful Sora." Delaney asked her friend to heal Drake's leg.

Lara then touched Drake's knee and observed it. "Waw boss. You're going to crippled our benefactor?"

In truth, Drake was seen as a benefactor for some of them. The money they got from that diamond was no joke. It's also one of the benefits being the most powerful criminal gang to easily sell the stone. No one asked how Samoa could get the diamond.

As the money came, Samoa could repair some of their towns. The place Drake was staying was not the only area that Samoa owned. Actually there were some spots in the red zone area.

Red zone, Green Zone, and Neutral Zone. Red zone is a place with no law. The strongest was the winner. That's why the Samoa flag could wave on the town. No one dared to touch it.

As for the neutral zone, it's a zone where fewer criminals happen. And it's under a magician Tower. They are full of powerful Sora.

Though Bismouth was just an expert with fighting skill, dealing with Sora could be somehow tricky. They just didn't want to take the chance. A powerful Sora could easily drug them with unscented smoke with no one noticing.

Actually, as a chanter and direct descendant of sorcerers, Drake could easily heal himself. He was not only became a powerful Bismouth, but the most smarter Sora no once could ever imagine. With his chanting skill, he could easily ravage the town into dust.

Sword is just one of his precautions. Drake didn't want to reveal anything to the public.

Lara touched Drake's knee and she poured water on it. When a Sora worked, they used water as a mediator.

The water then absorbed into Drake's skin. The warm energy was flowing around his knee. A moment later, the blue and green shade on his knee turned into a better color.

"It's getting better." Delaney glad Drake's knee was better. Though it was far from completely healed, at least it was better.

"You have to apply the ointment for days, observe if there's any more pain." Lara gave a bottle to Drake. "You'll heal in a week."

Marven walked to Drake. When he saw his knee, he was sure Drake's ability of self healing could make it faster. "Use your mana to speed the healing process. With mana like that, it will heal within a day."

"It's fine Marven, I know what to do." Not only in a day, if he wanted, he could heal the trauma in just a few seconds.

Delaney got worried about Drake. Even though she knew how strong Drake was, she proposed to hold his training for days. "Drake, I don't think you should use your leg for days. We can postpone the training. And you don't need to go down to the waterfall."

"You are too underestimate, Delaney." Marven couldn't help sound his voice. He knew Drake was hiding something bigger than what he saw from him.

He also didn't like if his adorable discipline getting too attached to Drake. After all, Delaney and Ash have been his students since he was a teen. He just felt like he was their protector.
